After having used this printer for a few months, I can now say I like it. If I rated it during the first week I had it, I would have given it 1 star. Primary reason is that it is a complicated machine and figuring out all of its nuances is not for the faint of heart. Samsung doesnt have a very good user guide or on-line support, so I spent a lot of time playing around with settings before I could get it to do what I wanted. You can adjust settings via the printers control panel, via its software, or via a web portal. This adds to the complication factor as the control panel on the printer only offers some of the options you need for tweaking, the software offers some more, and the web portal offers others. Samsung instructions are not very clear in terms of where you have to go to make your adjustments. The biggest problem I experienced was the fax set-up. I had Xfinity internet phone for my business line and while faxing with my previous Brother printer for years was fine, I could not get the Samsung fax to work. I eventually switched my business line from Xfinity to Ooma (to save money) and discovered that by using an Ooma Linx device and playing around with the Samsung settings, I was finally able to use the fax function. So, there is a happy ending to this story but it took a while to get here. The print quality is very good, so Im happy with that. Time it takes to start printing is a bit delayed and the printer is noisy. If you dont mind that, its a good laser printer. Just wish the replacement toner cartridges werent so expensive! But I knew that before I bought it. It does seem to be very efficient in terms of the amount of ink it goes through, so thats a plus.

Wow! A laser printer that does it all (color, copy, scan, fax, wireless)! I also have a b/w Samsung I got for a low price and its provided great service for years, so when our inkjet cashed it in, I naturally looked for a Samsung color laser. It has all the features your can shake a stick at and the price is amazing! (just look for those Amazon offers that come and go.) It works well as a wireless printer and is nice and quiet. My only quibble is the fact the pages dont automatically flip on 2-sided printing. I suspect that Samsung opted not to use it so that it wont cause mechanical problems over time. (You may get this feature on more expensive models, but at the price, this ones fine without it. All you need do is take the pages, reload them in the tray and push a button.) When youre faced with replacing that inkjet printer, why not go with laser? Youll love the quality printing and the length of time youll go before replacing toner. Over time, the higher cost of toner will actually be less than the cost of the not-so-cheap inkjet cartridges.

This is a nice compact All in one, priced competitively. I noted that the price has been up and down. My price was $185. I have only owned it for a few months, so have not had a need to change toner, etc. The design has separate toner and imaging units as well as a used toner collector. I would have preferred the simpler toner with imager embedded design, but those models were much pricier. The paper tray sticks out 3 -1/2 inches the bottom which is not shown in the picture. So you might want to be aware of that if you have a very tight space. The footprint is then 16 wide by 16-3/4 deep. The copier is fairly slow, but the document feeder makes up for that as long as you can wait. For instance, a color 8.5x11 copy takes about 40 seconds. Warmup time is another a minute or so. The supplied scanner software-"Easy Document Creator" is terrible. It is counter intuitive, extremely slow and often issues "out of memory" errors. Fortunately there is plenty of 3rd party software available. I replaced Easy Document Creator with NAPS2 (Not Another PDF Scanner 2) freeware and am very pleased with the simplicity, speed, and file options. For comparison, I can now scan a document in a few seconds rather than minutes. I strongly recommend using NAPS2 rather than the delivered scanner software. The printer was delivered missing 2 of 4 rubber feet on the bottom. I tried to get assistance from Samsung to send me some since it was not worth the hassle of returning the unit for such a small issue. However after several chats, EMAILs and calls, they were unable to help (other than suggesting a return). I cut some rubber pads to make feet so it doesnt wobble.

Now that its set up on my iMAC, it works fine and makes very good B&W and color texts. Theres no problem printing from a laptop, iPad, and other mobile devices. The fifth star is missing, as I found it to be a very difficult set up. The enclosed instructions and online directions were poorly conceived and difficult to follow, although Im usually pretty good at figuring such things out. Finally, I accessed an online tech through Samsungs chat facility who was very helpful and got the job done in a jiffy, Id recommend youd do this first before wasting a frustrating hour getting nowhere.

If all you are looking for is a printer, and you dont mind the speed, this will do the job. It does in fact fax seemingly well too. When it comes to scanning, this Samsung is next to worthless. The program that is used to scan pages can never seem to scan more than 10 sheets in a session before claiming to be out of memory. We have tried several options to correct the issue, and no results. Very disappointed in this as a scanner!! **UPDATE** Now the machine randomly chooses not to print from networked computers. The only solution is to turn the printer off then back on and print again. Not that that is a difficult thing to do, its just unnecessary and time consuming when you are dealing the the slowest printer made.

I bought this printer because it had good reviews on Amazon and my favorite computer magazine. However, since we have been using it weve experienced several paper jams using new high quality bond paper. Samsungs printer utility was no help providing instructions to clear the jam. I had to find another users YouTube video who explained how to clear the jams. Also, whenever the printer powers up preparing to print, my monitor and speakers reset. Im not sure if this is from an excessive power draw by the printer or if the printer is radiating that much interference. I own many other Samsung products that I am happy with but I cannot recommend this printer.

I have been replacing ink-jet printers about every year, so I decided to spend a little more this time and see if I can stop the cycle. I was worried about set up because there are a lot of reviews here that said set up was frustrating and time consuming. That’s not the case at all! I had this set up and test page printed within 10 minutes of opening the box. The tray does stick out about 4 inches (it is not flush as shown - it comes that way in the box, but as soon as you release the tray it stays out). Print quality is so much better than any of the ink-jets I’ve purchased before. The eco-friendly display (if you choose to use it) that shows on the computer print screen is wonderful, as it also shows you how much toner will be used and gives a preview of what the document will look like if you reduce the quality. Fingers crossed I don’t need a new printer for a while!

Decent, but slow, color printing. If there is only a single colored word in a document it will crawl at 4 ppm, little different than a full color picture. Decent graphics. NFI and cell printing was near effortless with a Galaxy S8 phone. There is an advertising sticker on the unit that is near impossible to get rid of, even with Goo Gone. Grr. Uses the supplied cartridges very rapidly. Most compatibles do NOT work.

When I received this printer set-up was fairly easy, I had it set up on a wi-fi network, which was nice. In a year I can only remember 2 instances in which it wouldnt print right away, I believe i fixed this by turning off then turning back on the printer. I used this printer primarily to print of schedules in my home office for my job, about 20 to 30 sheets a week. I also made some address labels using this printer, half of them lined up half of them didnt, not sure why. While having this printer I had to replace the black toner twice, its kinda expensive in my opinion at around $60. When the printer thinks its out of toner it will not print anymore pages, even if there is still actually toner left in the cartridge. I definitely wasnt getting as many pages as advertised from the toner cartridge. This printer met its demise over a paper jam, well actually 2 paper jams. Chapter 1. It was a typical Tuesday night, I was finishing up a employee schedule for the next week and was set to print it out. As I made my selection to print out 21 copies, I was feeling confident with a sense of pride of a hard days work coming to a close in mere minutes. I exited the room only to come back when i heard silence in which i should have heard the mechanical noises of my quality printer running off copies for my eager hard working employees. My printer had a flashing red light and a led display that read "PAPER JAM", my boost of confidence melted away with a sense of agitation. Up until this point I had never had to deal with this sort of problem, and figured this should be a fairly easy fix of just pulling some paper back out from whence it came. Very quickly I found out to my surprise that correcting this PAPER JAM would not be such an easy task. Like many resourceful people of this day I took to YOUTUBE to learn the tricks of the trade to alleviate my particular situation, in said video I learned of an extra TRAP door to open to make this process easier, the instructor in the video exclaimed “be careful not to rip the paper”. So here I go, I open the trap door, I pull the paper half way out one way easily, the other half however had a death grip on it the likes of some kind of superglue duct tape baby. Still I persisted when all of a sudden… RIP, followed by a few choice sentences. Now I am faced with a paper jam in which I have no way grasping said paper. I am not sure how I came up with the idea however I thought TAPE. I MacGyver-ed up a couple pieces of packaging tape to affix to the tiny remaining nubs which remained externally from this printer. With some patience a few choice swear words and some luck 30 minutes later I miraculously removed the paper jam. HUZZAH!!! Now I know if your still reading this you might be disappointed at this point, clearly this reviewer promised me a printer demise, stick with me, this is where the story gets good. Chapter 2. After defeating the paper jam clan and returning things back to normal, I wiped my brow and resumed printing the remaining copies of my schedule. Two pages into the resumption, our dear foes the paper jam clan returned their ugly face to greet me again. It was safe to say at this juncture I was a little more than agitated this time. Again I proceeded to open the trap door to remove this unwanted intruder gumming up the works, and low and behold the paper ripped yet again. The Jam Clan had won, there was nothing left to do but retreat. It was at this point where things start to get fuzzy but I will try to recite the following proceedings to the best of my knowledge of how they took place. Incessant cursing at a volume that should have prompted neighbors to either check in or alert the authorities of a possible domestic dispute, 3 punches that would have made Michael Bolton proud, At least a 300 pace march from my office to my apartments dumpster with said printer upon my shoulder shouting obscenities the likes that would make the Devil himself blush, and finally a hurl, that would make Donkey Kong himself hang up his tie and retire, into the dumpster that blared off a boom something the likes of the back fire from Uncle Bucks 1977 Mercury Marquis Brougham. While I am not proud of what happened, and I do regret throwing a $200 one year old printer into the garbage, I did get a sense of satisfaction destroying such a relentless and impossible machine.

I have only been using this for about a month, and so far, am very happy. The print quality is excellent, thought the printing speed is slow. The copy quality is also good, and seems about normal speed in terms of other copiers Ive used previously. It was easy to set up, and comes with an ink cartridge so it is ready to use out of the box. Check back to see if I am still happy with the quality after it has been used daily for 6 to 8 months.
