Printer and High Yield Black Toner Bundle

Excellent product. Setting it up as a network printer for two Linux Mint computers was relatively easy. Output quality is excellent; pages come out really fast. Only criticism is that withdrawing the paper tray to add paper involves a complicated process of first pulling the tray partially out, then lifting it up. This is not easy, and makes me fear I might break off a plastic part if I get it wrong, If technically possible I would favor simply pulling the tray all the way out without needing to disengage any locking mechanism. Brothers manuals and on-line videos are most helpful. Formerly I used color inkjet printers. I tired of the heavy cartridge expense and decided that I really did not need color printing. I have no regrets about moving to a monochrome laser machine. This Brother printer is somewhat larger and heavier than I had anticipated, but I regard this as a sign of solid build quality.

I was really upset in the beginning with Toner being "sprayed" all over the page, but only on the first page. And then the second Problem is that the Printer kept going Off-Line even though I have a direct ethernet connection. I have since solved this 2 problems: 1) I bought some cheap generic toner and it prints beautifully, and 2) IF you go online to Brother Support, they have a download tool which resolves the problem of "not being able to find the network". The default is 300 dpi which I changed to 600 dpi. It is fast, prints acceptable well, and now at long last, I like it.

Fast and reliable thus far. Was snap to integrate into my network. I never often give a five on tech. This one is close. It does click the right boxes. Speed print quality. A bit noisy though. Easy to use even from my tablet and smartphone. Both Android systems. Will be looking to do content share and a good fast printer is great to have. Also no more inkjet. Overall very happy with performance. I had another Brother before too and it did well too.
