This printer is truly awesome. Its just insanely annoying that it times out so quickly between printing. It basically defeats the purpose of having Wi-Fi because you have to go turn the printer on and off manually every single time you want to print. It times out within about a minute. Maybe 2. If someone knows how to change this, Id love to know.

The hinge mechanism on the right, is either broken or loose. I havent looked at it too closely but the lid flexes when lifted. Ive waited too long 2 return it, so Im stuck. During some of my scanning it appears there are streaks in the images. Ive not seen them on everything Ive scanned so maybe it was a burn in process. Dont know exactly what that would be, but Im trying to be fair. I bought this unit because of the tray feed mechanism on the top to replace an older brother MFC. There was nothing wrong with the older MFC accept the tray mechanism was a little flimsy. I like the flip open mechanism on the model 2720. When not in use you can close it and its protected from breaking. I also bought this unit because of the Wi-Fi. Set up was easy and I was printing within minutes. I can also print from my phone, which was another major reason for purchasing a newer MFC. I have printed from my phone that works great as well. Overall, the product is less quality than my older MFC model 840 as I recall. But thats also 10 years ago and nothing these days is made like they were in the past.

I do a lot of book copying on the flatbed, and the book often accidentally hits the very sensitive touch screen which changes the number of copies. I have to listen carefully for the beeping to make sure I dont end up with 33 or 99 copies! I have to lift the book up to change the copy number and readjust the book. Not a deal breaker just annoying. This could be corrected by putting the touch screen on the right side of the machine rather than in the middle. Its also a little slower and louder than my old machine. And this might seem like a small detail, but the pages dont come out of the machine very far so its hard to see them, and I have to reach in to get the pages out after copying. Other than that, it does what its supposed to do. The wireless function was easy to setup and works great with my iPod Touch and our HP printer in my husbands office. Scanning also works well. We havent tried out the fax function yet. Still, I really miss my Brother MFC-7820N! It was a real workhorse for 10 years. I would recommend researching a Brother higher-end model.
