I bought a 577 only 18 mos. ago. I got an error message and called HP. Customer service said I needed a visit. Ive discussed the error codes with two HP-certified techs. Both said the same thing: This is new technology, and were getting lots of customer calls. The print bars are going bad after 12-24 months (warranty is 12 mos.). To replace the print bar costs MORE than a new printer. So, unless you want to buy another new printer in 12-24 months, AVOID this one.

This printer stopped working, and even after Hewlett Packard told me that they would replace the printer, they came back, reneged on their previous promise to me, and told me that Tech Guru is not an "authorized Reseller" and per their warranty conditions which are complete garbage they are not going to replace the printer even though its under warranty. Do yourself a favor and dont buy any HP merchandise from Tech Guru, they wont honor the warranty. Also, the Amazon return period has expired as well, so Im out almost $900 and I have a huge piece of plastic as a paperweight that Im going to have to throw off the roof of my building. If you cant tell, Im very upset. The once great Hewlett Packard who had a major hand in leading the technology revolution in the Bay Area, has become a laughing stock and wont even replace their broken printers that they probably shouldnt have sold in the first place because... yea... they are poor quality devices and they are put together by people who all things considered would rather be out back smoking cigarettes than actually giving a hoot about the device that they are building. Its a sad statement that this once great company makes crap that they know doesnt work and wont even stand behind.

Great printer. The design of the document feeder leaves a bit to be desired (e.g. sometimes it can be hard to retrieve pages after they are fed through the feeder--depending on their size, and it would be nice to have paper size "guides" on the adjustable portions of the feeder tray). Other than a few nits, the printer is top notch. Prints high quality pages very fast.

This is by far the best printer our office has ever seen. Very easy setup, no need for wires and cables to print. I couldnt have asked for better, plus it was at a great price compared to other retailers. This thing prints fast when they say 70 pages per minute they mean it. The only downside is the expensive ink cartridges but they have extremely high yield which is a plus because you wont have to buy them so frequently. Excellent excellent.

UPDATE: printing on glossy paper is a disaster. Output is all smudged. Reducing the ink to minimum levels doesnt do the trick. Not recommended for marketing material on glossy paper. Works great so far!! Using almost all the features on it. Was a challenge to setup the sending email directly from the printer but once it was done, works as its supposed to.

Very impressed with this printer! Ordered two of these for our small office. The setup is very straight forward! Even the fax setup is very easy to walk thru! We utilize the scan to network folder feature to save time. Im not sure if holds up to the 70ppm print cycle, but I do know it exceeds our print speed expectations. Tip though: watch the price on these. Its across the board, fortunately Amazon was the cheapest. Dont overpay, as some sites are $200-300 more.

I really like this printer. Its far better than previous HP and Brother all-in-ones. The only thing that is really annoying is that I have to shut down and restart every few days otherwise it does hinky things like.....not print! Once I restart the printer it works like a champ

The printer was great for the first few weeks, but slowly became problematic and now after having it for about a year and a half, I am ready to throw it out the window most days. It constantly needs to be rebooted and regularly struggles to keep a connection to the computer. The other thing that drives me nuts is that it whenever I print something that has been scanned to the computer it leaves a light film of color in the background wasting tons of ink in the long run.

Bought it because I wanted good color quality and Im satisfied with that. Be prepared to spend a small fortune on the ink. Very heavy if you ever have to move it. Ive been a little disappointed to not see it listed in lists of top printers but maybe that is because it is geared to business usage.

Great printer! Ive only had it for a few weeks, but its great so far. I just need to figure out where to get ink from... UPDATE: Dont buy. It has worked for about 6 months without problems....we are now on the 9th month and I have to reinstall the printer on my laptop EVERY TIME I want to print. There is also a constant ERROR message - a blue screen with the power button image on it. I turn it off and on but nothing works. Ive had tech support TEMPORARILY fix the problem, but NOTHING GIVES ME A LONG-TERM SOLUTION. IM FRUSTRATED BEYOND MEASURE. I just wrote to them to ask what the refund/exchange policy is. Im a small business owner, and I really need to have a printer that works.
