HP LaserJet Pro M426fdn Multifunction Laser Printer with Built-in Ethernet & Duplex Printing (F6W14A) with Standard Yield Black Toner Cartridge

I finally purchased this after coming very close to throwing my old inkjet out the window. I work in IT and we have the 402 printer only version and theyve done relatively well. At the end of the day theyre disposable unfortunately when something major does go wrong. That said, weve had pretty good luck with those and this does real scan to searchable PDF via email/file share, no goofy special software needed. Also works from my Android on the same network without ePrint, just used theHP Print Service Plugin app. Theres some great generic toner on Amazon for these from Aztech - weve been using it at work with 0 issues in 20+ printers.

Printer/ scanner is great, I have 2 of them I use for my business. I ran into some problems after the last software update with not being able to scan duplex. After spending hours on the phone with HP and having to explain that my employees are having to do double the work to scan because they can only do 1 side at a time in about 3 weeks they called me back and had a beta version of the newest software update they uploaded onto my computer so I could scan duplex again.

This printer replaced a 4 year old Dell printer that died. The new printer is smaller and quieter, but seems to print a little slower. A great plus is that it can do 2 sided scanning. On the other hand, you can’t easily delete all the pages of a multiple page scan from the hp app after you’ve saved all the pages to a file. Another small negative is that I have to scan using the desktop app instead of the printer control panel; not sure why, but that’s the only way I could get it to work. Apple AirPrint works great. Another great feature is printing an attached file on an email over the web from anywhere. This printer is not perfect, but definitely good value for the money.
