Im a lawyer, and print about 4,000 pages per month. Ive tried a bunch of under-$500 printers including cheaper HP LaserJets and a Brother MFC-J5930DW (which I still use for color brochures). This is the first time I decided to splash for a higher-end HP and I am very happy so far. The print speed is great, the paper tray holds a full ream of paper, the paper handling is top notch, and I just now finished the toner cartridge that came with it - it worked out to about 1.2 cents per page at full Amazon price for a 37A cartidge. My replacement is a 37Y, which I calculate should carry me through the next 12 months and end up costing less than 0.7 cents per page. Thats less per page than I was spending on the 3rd party toner cartridges that ended up wrecking my old color laser printer.

This printer is fast, clear print. I have SIX of them in my office. Ive had two that have had a problem with a sensor, so far. HEWLETT PACKARD HAS NO SUPPORT once you are out of the original warranty period. Their website is not up to date with support, after calling six of them that are either no longer in business or dont service HP. Our regular service guy couldnt get the part because hes not authorized. One guy laughed at me, sent the the service manual and basically told me if I could figure out the part, theyd send it. If your network will work with a printer that has support available, go for it, otherwise, think twice.

Prints fast. easy to set up.. but kinda flimsy/ more plastic-ey than previous models. Also the toner is located on the backside, not accessible through the front so you have to maneuver the printer away from the wall to get change the toner.. BAD DESIGN FLAW!!!
