Do not buy this printer. Besides having expensive, hard to find tiny cartridges that run out quickly, the printer suffers from chronically clogged ink. Not only that, but every time I replace an ink cartridge or try to clean the printer heads, it uses up 25% of each ink cartridge. I ended up going through an entire set of ink just trying to clean the printer heads and finally had to resort to using alcohol to clean the ink screens. It also is terrible at loading paper from the rear feeder. I have wasted soooo much time and money trying to get this thing to print!!!!!

I’m a professional graphic designer and I’ve always loved Epson printers. I purchased this one to replace my Epson Stylus Photo large format printer which had a bad print had after years of use. Love the smaller footprint of this new one. It still will print borderless 13 x 19 which is why I purchased it.

Install Flash Player The XP-15000 is probably my fifth 13x19 photo printer. Most previous models Ive used have been Epsons, though one or two HPs have graced my home office space. Im a Mac-based graphic designer and enthusiast photographer, and my wife is a freelance artist; so we had a need for high-quality large scale printing from home. In recent years, the ease of getting good images inexpensively from your local office store has supplanted the need to have a large format printer at home, so weve been using mainly Letter sized all-in-ones for home printing. Back to the Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000 Wireless Color wide-format printer. True to the advertising, it is at least 30% smaller than any previous 13x19 Ive owned. The last HP I used was a beast, and barely fit on my printer stand. The XP-15000 is so compact it can fit on a chair if need be. Thats a big plus. It uses 6 inks though. Im not sure how the cost for those will play out over the long term. Unboxing was fairly straight forward, but it does take time. From unpacking the printer to having it fully operational took me over an hour of concentrated effort. Tweaking everything takes a while. It arrived well and securely packaged, and getting all the tape and padding off before engaging power can pose a challenge. Starter inks are included and Im not sure how long theyll last. The cartridges are fairly straightforward to install. Epson also provides samples of 3 different kinds of paper stock in addition to using plain white paper, so you should be able to start printing amazing photos right out of the box. They are 8.5 x 11 sheets, so if you want 13x19, you need to invest in some quality paper. As mentioned, the set-up process takes some time, but if you follow the steps as prescribed by the included instructions (in a number of languages), you should be fine. Be sure to have paper inserted *face down* when printing to photo paper, otherwise you get a smudgy, blurry mess. That is my fault for not fully reading the directions. Something to note though is when I had both photo and plain paper loaded to the internal tray, the plain paper stuck to the photo paper and I printed to two sheets rather than one. Keep the paper tray pure with whatever primary stock you wish to use. That said, the XP-15000 prints very nice full bleed images to regular office plain white paper stock. However, It really shines on glossy photo paper. This is a quality printer and it prints quality photos, and it also does a fair job of rendering simple b&w text and other basic stuff when you want to print from the web or a word processing program. I will say that connecting it to my home Wi-Fi network took some time to tweak and get working properly. I am not using this a connected printer, so it is purely on my network via Wi-Fi. Once I got it all synced up, I was able to print from my iPhone, my wifes MacBook Air, and my HP Envy laptop with no issues. Just select the printer from your list of available printers, and drivers will be installed. All should work well. My one real gripe with the Epson XP-15000 is that it uses a manual, push-button interface rather than a touch screen. The LED screen is rather small and not the easiest to read. I have a much less expensive wireless all-in-one HP printer that has a larger touch screen and thus sports a very easy to manipulate interface. The Epsons reliance on directional buttons to navigate seems rather backward and old school, making simple tasks more complicated than they need to otherwise be. This archaic method is how things used to be for years, and though it still works it no longer feels intuitive. On the whole, Im very impressed with the quality and like using the XP-15000. Once everything is set up and the printer is connected to your home Wi-Fi network, it is simple to choose and use. Just make sure you have the paper loaded correctly. ~ Kort

This product is a fine printer if you are printing photos. I bought this to print screen films. The Epson Artisan 1430, which is used throughout the screen print industry, has been discontinued. Vendors are now selling the once $350.00 printer for over a grand. Both Amazon and Epson sell this as the replacement printer. That it is not. The printer does not support film print. It isnt supported by any of the current RIP software. I wouldnt recommend this if you are looking to replace the 1430 for screen films

Ive been using the Epson Artisan 1430 for about 5 years now as an artist and it was finally time for an upgrade. This printer was extremely frustrating out of the box. Wireless setup was fine. But I kept getting bands despite numerous alignments. Also color was totally off despite adjusting and troubleshooting. If I couldnt get it working the first day out of the box I expect that if I ever did get it aligned and the color corrected, that it would be a constant battle to keep it maintained in the future. I returned it right away.

Easy to unpack, setup, connect wirelessly and use. The print quality is fantastic and I am very satisfied. I like the rear paper feed for the larger sizes like 11"x17". very easy to load and use. Its great that there are 6 individual ink reservoirs so you will be able to maximize your ink and get the most prints for your money compared to cartridges that hold 3 colors each. Nice small display in front that tilts up for easier viewing that is used when paper size is changed or for printing locally and maintenance purposes. Software loaded on your PC or phone works great and enables you to view ink levels, perform maintenance and set printer options.

I cannot recommend that anyone buy this printer. At this price, I expected a consistently working and decent quality printer. For initial wireless setup with a Mac, we had to spend 45 minutes on the phone with Epson technical support. That got it working. It worked for a couple of weeks and then the printer would frequently lose its wifi connection even though our internet is high quality cable and very consistent. Wed have to turn this printer off and on repeatedly to re-establish the wifi connection. Then after 6 weeks it stopped working totally. After another 45 minute call with Epson, they said it had a hardware failure and we had to return it to Epson and would receive a refurbished unit. This is less than 2 months after buying a new high priced printer that they are suggesting we accept a refurbished unit. Finally Epson said theyd send a new one. We got the new one and did our customary call to tech support to set it up for wireless with a Mac. It turns out they forgot to send the factory ink cartridges in this replacement printer that are required to do an initial setup. We have the Epson cartridges that are speced for this printer, but they have to be the ones that COME INSIDE the printer for the printer to begin its initial setup. So after another 45 minute call, Epson now says they have to send us new ink cartridges for the printer to even print a single piece of paper - even though we have Epson ink cartridges purchased just for this computer. So after weeks of no printer for our business, we now have to wait for another shipment from Epson. Then we will have the next 45 minute call to set it up.. This painful and costly experience has had way too many headaches - all caused by Epson defects and mistakes. We will not be buying Epson again.

I bought this printer after much research, including the reviews here that mention the banding that happened to some. I believe that the banding is due to incorrect formatting of photos for prints (it happened to me.) However, after some trial and error, my husband and I were able to eliminate the banding. I use a Nikon D 7200 and my raw photos are 6000 x 4000 pixels. For example, a 4 " x 6" photo that is not cropped, would have 1000 DPI sent to the printer, which is below the maximum capability of the printer. When we cropped photos, we made sure that the image was sized to the aspect ratio of the print area with the maximum DPI possible. When possible, use 300 DPI or better for best results. It is important to scale the prints correctly for printing, keeping proportions and DPI properly scaled. After doing that, the printer now produces beautifully clear and sharp prints without any banding at all. There is a learning curve about this, but I dont believe that the printer is flawed.

The photo prints are fantastic. I use a laser for most printing, because the cost per page is a fraction of ink costs, and I usually only print in black & white anyway. Just make sure you get into the settings and set for best print, photo paper glossy, and use a quality photo . I prefer Canon for my 8x10 and 13x19 prints. No problems setting up when following the included directions. I agree with many others about all the shipping tape! (lol)
