This printer has been nothing but a big headache. First one I purchased stopped working after 3 months with an error code that could not be cleared.... Called Epson support and they replaced it under warranty and shipped me a brand new replacement unit.3 months later and same issue with the new printer...Not like I use this printer a lot, 20 pages a week maybe. Also using genuine Epson print cartridges too. Fighting with Epson for going on an hour now,,,, They want to send me another replacement but as you can imagine I have no desire to get another one of this model printer just to have to go through the same thing again. Been on hold with "SUPERVISOR" for half hour now and wondering if this is just a tactic to make me tire and hang up and am now resisting the temptation to literally throw this printer out the window and call it a day.. Finally off hold and only thing they can do is ship me another,,, Flaming mad here and hope the 3rd time is a charm. What a mess!! Update - they shipped me another printer (same model) and a day later this one is dead too !! You cant make this stuff up folks.... Update - they shipped me yet another printer, this one looked like it was new since it came in the retail box... Working right now but who knows for how long.... If this one goes going to cut my looses, reduce aggravation and stress and toss it right in the garbage.

Estimated 300 pages per ink cartridge is a flat out lie. You may get 40-50 pages out of the regular 702 cartridges. The ink cartridges are not refillable with 3rd party ink, no one makes a Continous Ink Supply System for it, and the Epson refills are over half the price of the printer for the basic 702 ink cartridges and well over the price of the printer for all 702XL cartridges. I rarely used this printer and just ran out of black ink. If I wouldve know it was such a rip off, I wouldve returned it. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this printer.

I did a lot of research on printers before I bought this one, so my expectations were suitably lowered. Set up was quick and easy over my home wireless network, connecting via my Netgear router to Apple, Lenovo and Dell laptops. Image quality for PDF scans is fine, print quality for black and white and color is good, Wifi reception is steady with no drops, and AirPrint works fine from iphone 5, 6 and 7 cellphones. So the ownership experience has been good for the first four days; hoping this is true a year from now. This ink-spewing disposable devise (definite sarcasm here for all printer manufacturers) has a tacky exterior - cheap-looking brittle plastic that is really a step backwards from my trusty old HP 6500 that died on me after 5 years of reliable performance. To be fair, all the current models of printers that I saw on display at Best Buy looked tacky too. The one-star deduction is for the sweat and the smudges that the workers in the hot muggy factory in the Philippines did not bother to wipe off as they were packing this printer up. These marks are etched into the plastic leaving me with a printer that has a permanently marred appearance - small issue in the overall scheme of things I suppose, but hey shouldnt a new printer look new? Note to Epson, I would be happy to pay twice the price for a nice-looking box that would work reliably for 5 years. UPDATE: 15 months after purchase this printer/scanner/copier has worked flawlessly. No complaints, upgrading from 4 stars to 5!

Hands-down one of the worst printers I’ve ever used. Back to back purchases of Epson printers different styles and they all seem to have one thing in common, they are terrible. The first one was dead on arrival so Amazon sent out another one immediately. 2nd one had Wi-Fi issues with it. So I thought I’d give this different model a chance. This printer barely made it through 96 pages before low ink warning for Black was given. I use this printer for light text documents only. At over $20 for a black ink cartridge I might as well just buy a new printer every time then keep buying cartridges. Also you are unable to refill these cartridges due to it having a chip which cannot be reset. Needless to say I’m up creek without a paddle and already searching for a new printer. Should have spent the extra money on an HP or Camden has those tend to last much longer and there and can be refilled. My last HP printer lasted 9 1/2 years with no problems whatsoever. Bottom line avoid epson or return it at the first sign of problems I missed the window to return this POS. Good luck.

I purchased this printer less than a month ago and I have had to replace the ink 3 times! I had an Epson 15 years ago and had the same problem. I thought after all of these years they would have improved it. $300.00 for ink in the 1st month!

Absolutely awful. Constantly fails to pull paper into the printer from the paper drawer and then recognizes it as a jam. About every 7 pages results in this happening or a jam. Total waste of money. I will be buying a replacement printer. This is unusable.

This machine had trouble connecting with Windows 7 machines but Ive been able to get it working after multiple reloads. It connected the my Windows 10 machine easily. Im taking two stars away because the machine cant be completely controlled from a computer. Paper settings often have to be confirmed at the printer. Asinine. I have a firmware update attempt from my computer right now and the screen on the printer confirms that one is available, but nothing will load. Conflict between printer and computer apparently. We wore out an r2000 or rather it just got so gummed up with ink that it wasnt working right. The interface of this new machine is a huge step back from the old one. Someone at Epson thinks they have made improvements by adding some whistles and bells on the printer that are just plain junk and inhibit easy printing. After several months Im taking another star away. Every time we print with a different computer we have to turn the printer off and back on to get it to print. That and that we have to manually tell the printer we have changed paper when we use a different grade of paper is pure crap.

Second review. Lowered my rating from three stars to one. * Scanning software is dated. * Prints pulling along multiple blank sheets * Keeps blowing the circuit breaker though none of my previous printers did. * Limited suppliers of ink cartridges and at a very high price. Epson should recall these printers and offer a deal for a much better one. I will probably give the printer away and buy another brand. Great price but kind of old fashion. My previous printer had better options for scanning. Also, the black XL cartridge had to be returned because it didnt have ink. Whats up Epson?

this is my first epson my previous two printers were hp office jet pros, outstanding units.so I looked up the new hp office jet pros, everyone had a twenty percent worst rateing, they are now made in china. with that rateing there was no way I would buy one of them.the epson had a 8 to 10 & worst rating much better then the hps and not made in china. the only fault I find with the unit itself is the touchpad is not sensitive enough sometimes I have to touch it three our four times to get a reaction.what has been bad for me is trying to get customer support.went on support site site would not accept my email address without that support choices are limited.went to register my warrenty form would not accept my phone number without that no warranty tried many many tines, somehow I found a way to send epson a email they responded and said someone would call me,that never happened.next I wound up on the phone with two gentelmen from india, they knew less then me.I am 78 years old im sure some younger people could make it work,I have given up. so I guess I have no warranty I found a good used model of my old hp printer and set the epson aside.

I have had this printer for a week and have been using it heavily since receiving it and let me just say WOW! Set up was a bit tedious than most printers I have ever set up. Regardless, it worked flawlessly with all my devices, including my cellphone. All my devices have worked with the printer through wifi without problems. I do have one little tiny con to point out: when printing from my cellphone the quality of the print didnt come out too well. This is just a minor problem and it only happened with my phone. Printing from all my computers and tablets was a breeze and the quality was OUTSTANDING. The duplex printing (printing on both sides of the paper without having to reinsert the paper) has to be the coolest thing this printer can do! I love this feature! Not only does it, do it well, it also does it very quickly! This printer is one of the fastest printers I have ever owned and I am so glad I bought it. The printer is also super compact and saves so much room on the desk I keep it on. I havent printed a picture yet, but when I do Ill be sure to update my review. Long story short, I would highly recommend and would gladly buy this printer again.
