I was so excited about this printer as I am a card and scrapbook crafter. However, no one has 12 x 12 paper the weight required for this printer. How can Cannon make a printer that you can’t find paper for??? I am very disappointed!
The printer did manage to print on sticker paper, however the blues was too dark. I called tech support, but we could not adjust it regardless of the setting chosen. Also, when I was opening the ink packages it came with, I followed the instructions and the damn ink pitched all over me. It went on the floor, on my face, and on my clothes! Ridiculous quality control! Ive never had that happen with any of Canons inks before! I own a Pixma ip110 and bought this to replace it for heavy duty prints. But this is going back.
Right out of the box this printer showed a paper jam error - I knew it was not a brand new printer - back it goes.
Dead on arrival. Ugh. Now have to wait a week for replacement. I have always used Canon, hoping for better replacement. Would not even turn on. 6004 error, pulled power, re plugged. Ugh. Canon response: send in for repair. Yeah, that is why I use Amazon Prime. Will update next week.
I bought this because I wanted a great scanner and printer. The scanner on this all-in-one is crap. The ADF cant handle the bank statements I receive and theyre not on super high quality paper. They jam very regularly. The ADF can only handle about 5 pages at a time or it jams. The ADF pulls papers in crooked so most are scanned at an angle. The scans immediately started getting a streak across them when I used the ADF and cleaning the ADF paten didnt clear up the issue. After 30-45 minutes of scanning the device begins to overheat so it slows to a crawl. Double-sided scanning requires manually turning over the papers and using software on the computer to organize them; it often puts them in a PDF at a 90 degree angle from how they are scanned which boggles my mind. Compared to my previous Canon MX922 which died after five years, this is a downgrade even though it cost twice as much! It feels very lightweight, flimsy and cheap compared to the MX922. Overall, it was more frustrating than anything else. I gave up and sent it back; Im buying a Brother instead.
Check the Canon downloads website. OS14 is not listed. I spent 3 hours with Canon tech support and another one with Mac. They could not get the scanner to work. And this is going to be a pain to ship back to Amazon.
There is nothing I like about this printer. Nothing. And for the price, I expected way more. I’ve had it for 2 days now, and have had nothing but problem after problem. For example: 1. There are black streaks on the back of every single page I print now. Started after paper jammed. 2. Went through 2 cleaning cycles to try to correct the issue, which used up HALF of my very expensive ink! I didn’t even do the deep clean, which warns you it will use a lot of ink. 3. Ink goes FAST. I’ve literally printed less than 20 pages total since I got the printer, and cleaned it twice, and the ink it came with (at least the Cyan and Magenta) are over half gone! 4. Anything other than standard printer paper jams like crazy in the lower paper cartridge. If you use slightly thicker paper, you MUST use the back paper tray, which sticks out quite a bit in the back, which means you have to keep the printer far away from the wall and drastically reduces precious desk space. 5. There are lines across everything in the top 2 inches of anything I print. This is after using their automatic print head alignment feature and cleaning twice. I can’t use this printer for my business with lines across everything. 6. Found out I cannot use off-brand ink cartridges, and I have to use Canon’s RIDICULOUSLY expensive ink. Nope. Not going to happen, Canon. Go ahead and be greedy. I’ll never buy another product from you as long as I live. I’ll just go back to Brother printers or try HP or Epson. Much less hassle! Keep in mind that I’ve only had this printer a couple of days and it’s already screwing up big time in many ways. I am definitely returning this printer!
