This is by far the worst printer I’ve ever owned. Out of the box.... three hours later..... it never got past the error message telling me To insert the disc to print.... I wasn’t trying to print a disc. Then to fill the paper tray....it had been the entire time. By the 4th hour and 30-35th attempt to simply print a black and white piece of paper I bashed it to pieces with my bare hands. Do. Not. Buy. This. Printer.

I had modest expectations of this printer but my needs were modest as well - just basic printing and scanning, for home use. One month after purchase and Im wondering if it will last long enough to consume the ink I bought so I can minimize my loss. It chews up paper and the shredded remains are extremely difficult to reach and remove. It is flimsy almost beyond belief. The manual is useless for most jams - remove the paper, duh! I love my Canon cameras and thought after my HP setup problems and Epson ink habit this might be a better answer. Not!

I tried scanning a few days after I got this printer. Using the Mac scanning utility, I received a communication error, which did not go away after several restarts of both the printer and the computer, including after updating the firmware of the printer. I tried using the Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite over Wi-Fi, but the scanner could not be detected. Printing works fine, but scanning does not. In addition, while the printer has a port for USB printing/scanning, that does not come in the box and is sold separately. A USB cable should be a basic utility - what a cheap product. I will buy the cable but am not happy about this. I have Mac OS X 10.14.

This printer wont print 90% of the time. When I can get it to print its because I have turned it off and on several times. Even when it does decide to print it gives error messages. My hearts desire it to have 5 minutes alone in a locked room with the booger eating mouth breather who designed it. I will never buy another Canon product as long as I live. I fantasize taking it into a field and blowing it up. If I could give it negative stars I would.

This printer was recommended to me for photos and only using for this purpose. I was excited to finally print all my pictures but after 2 prints in a row, the pixels were blurry and colors too light. I also get an error code every time I print saying that I don’t have the right photo printer and I have to bypass it each time. Super annoying.

In theory this should work pretty well. The web install is an ok idea and works up to a point. Problem is I could not get this unit to scan. I was able to install the printer, get it connected to my network and computer, but no scan. I read a few support articles on the Canon site about disabling IPv6 (was already disabled) but it simply doesnt work. Im running Mojave so maybe that has something to do with it but this is going back.

This is sad - I purchased a Canon printer for $85 from Target 4 years ago and it worked great. I got this one and it wont print without shutting the printer off and on and fussing to get it to print. Canon website is idiotic, the one thing everyone needs is support, but no, were inundated with a lot of nonsense no-one needs to know. How about providing a support database of errors so I can look it up and troubleshoot it? Well, looks like another reputable company losing their way, making money off the backs of their customer base and not providing quality. Sad.

Dont waste your time with this printer. During setup, it was convinced that there was a paper jam. There was none. Got a replacement from Amazon. During setup of the second printer, upon turning it on for the first time, the printer made a large clicking noise and then indicated that there was a foreign object in the printer. Also, the instructions are horrible. I didnt make it past step 3, but the device had already deviated from the instructions.
