I have the printer in the closet on a shelf. I’m confused by some of the reviewers that judge the printer of having low quality. This printer is primarily used for home use. This is our first printer that we can use separate from any cables. The setup was straightforward. Updated the software as requested and boom the first test page worked without a hitch. All on our WiFi. We haven’t had any problems. It has the features that I need. When the ink runs out it will be replaced with canon ink. Well known fact that our buying habits are purchasing items that are the less expensive route. If the printer manufacturers put a software glitch onboard the printer so be it. The online websites allow us to shop around and get the best and lowest price ink while still staying with the manufacturer. If the printer blows up we recycle it and shop for another one. Printers are always less than the price of ink. As with most electronic items kid gloves has to be in place to have the product last.

When a printer is this finicky where it prompts you every 5 seconds to do something in order to just print a simple document; close this, open that, wrong door/slot, adjust paper size, wrong paper type, blah blah blah... it would be easier to just buy a different printer that is more simplified, one where you open the paper tray and place the paper in and guess what it just prints without prompting you to change everything like youre working under a car hood. This is not that printer.

UI is out of the 90s. some things i have experienced: print queue does not update and doesnt allow the next job to print. when it does print it sometimes prints and sometimes just stays on processing for many minutes until i reboot the printer, cancel the print job and resubmit. get error message about the rear paper tray when i have never used nor put any paper in the rear paper slot. copy wont copy consistently without the same kind of reboot. have to say that the scan works well. too bad i let it sit in the box for two weeks before i hooked it up. cant get refund now. well at least i have a scanner.

I have had this printer for a while now. It periodically forgets how to operate and I have to reinstall the drivers. No rhyme or reason. Reinstalling the software on each and every computer in the house every time this turd has a conniption fit is annoying. I will not be buying another.

A nice little printer from Canon. It works well and seems to be designed well. The only problem I had was getting the photo function to work properly. I did email product support at Canon and they emailed me back a user easy fix and that did the job so I am happy with Canon so far.

I am very happy with the printing and copying features of this product and it was very easy to connect it to Google print. However, although this is an all-in-one printer, scanner and copier that is compatible with Google Print, it is not compatible for scanning so, if you have a Chromebook and need to scan, it wont work. It can only scan with Windows or Mac OSX computer (per customer service trouble shooting response).

I’ve had this printer about six months. I avoid using it because my blood pressure skyrockets every time!!! I hit print and get a message to register the paper slot. It automatically goes to the rear, so I add paper to the rear slot. Then I get a message to close the rear slot so I can print. Then AGAIN, I get a message to put paper in the rear slot

Usually I have had great luck with Canon Printers. This one was apparently designed while the software engineer was using something. First few weeks it was ok. Then it started telling me the computer was offline when it was online. Then it wouldnt print at all. Its latest affectation is to print only the last page of a document and give me an error message and tell me how to correct it. It didnt work. Ive re-installed the drivers more than once. This one is going to recycling and I hope to get a better product the next time.

I gave it three stars because the setup was so easy and the printer is cute. However, I started printing tonight and I notice that each page it printed got duller. Also even though I set it to black and white only, the thing used up almost all of my colored ink. Very disappointed about that especially since I read that if there is no colored cartridge in the printer it won’t work (not sure how truthful that is) but then it has to be since it used up half my colored even though it was set to B&W only. Note that this was my first time using I received the item today

Wow...of all the things I could say about this printer....user friendly and simple are NOT two phrases I would use! Fast? Yes. Quality prints? Yes. Friendly? NOPE! Ok...to start off with...if you are running a hotspot and think you want a printer...THIS IS NOT THE PRINTER YOU WANT! It is a NIGHTMARE to set up on a hotspot...I know, because thats the route I took. I finally got it set up on my hotspot, but then found that you cant use the google cloud print thing from a hotspot...not directly, anyhow. It CLAIMS it will wake from a power-off status to print, but I have an ASUS Chromebit that can print to it, and the Chromebit cant wake it from power-off status. Windows 10 can, but Chromebit nor Linux can....and, in fact, Linux doesnt have drivers for it...so youve GOT to get the cloud print working if you want to use it at all with Linux. Android requires two apps to make it work...Canon Print and Wireless Printer app....good luck on getting those configured correctly. Overall...I HATE this printer...but I am now sooooooooo time invested and money invested (mostly in ink) for it, that I cant simply turn away from it. I HATE this, as I have ALWAYS liked Canon printers...but seriously, if you guys at Canon are going to chase Google Cloud Print, the least you could do would be to hire some programmers and INTERLACE THIS with Cloud Print a bit more seamlessly KNOWING that a lot of people use phones, tablets and Chromebooks to print now...and that you should GET THIS DOWN TO LESS THAN PhD REQUIREMENTS TO SET UP A PRINTER!!! 3 stars (and thats being KIND) for requiring me to acquire a PhD in CLOUD PRINTING to be able to set up a friggin printer!
