Printer is loud when printing, making noises like a car grinding its gears. It either pulls in several sheets at a time or none at all. But when it does work correctly, the pages print quickly and clearly. It was easy to set up.
The printer is fine. Its much better than the previous disaster I ordered (another brand, came with a hardware problem, just a mess). This one is lightweight, not too big, not too expensive, easy setup. AND then, you print. I got 77 pages to be exact. Straight up black and white printing, normal quality. 77 pages. $7.70 at the local library. 10 cents a copy. Cost of printer divided by 77 - approximately 69 cents a copy. Yeah, no. And now I have to order more ink or trash this new printer. Because I own the printer, now Ill just have to pay for ink .... that will cost me approximately 25 cents per page to print. REALLY CANON, REALLY? Because you cant do better than this and there arent enough empty ink cartridges in landfills across the glove? REALLY CANON? Im sorry I ever bought this thing. Just dont do it. Save yourself while you still can.
This thing would not read any cartridges that werent made by Canon (thought we carefully checked that they were equivalent). So many errors. After pulling cartridges in and out several times it would occasionally read, only to not recognize them again when ever the power was turned off and back on. Finally gave me a P10 code, which means "Turn off. Unplug. Take to a Canon repair store." Worked great when it worked, but unless you want Canons more expensive cartridges, you may run into trouble.
