Even though the software had a glitch that prevented me from connecting to WiFi, I give this PIXMA printer four stars because Canons tech support is terrific. It took about an hour on the phone with two different specialists, but they were able to walk me through a fix, and now the printer works as advertised. This is my third Canon printer, Ive liked them all, and although I encountered a few technical issues on all three, Canon is unparalleled in its commitment to customer support. Theyre easy to get on the phone, and they hang with you until the problem is fixed. The WiFi connection issue was due to a hiccup in the software that would not enable me to manually enter my modem password. Tech support eventually was able to guide me through a hack that got the the modem to deliver the password to the printer through my Windows PC via a USB connection. The tech on the phone said he didnt know why it worked, but he was glad it did, and so was I. What I like about the Canon PIXMA TS9520: It prints beautiful photos, it allows me to print photos onto DVD discs, it can print larger pages than most other printers, it has a new touchscreen control center that folds out, and it has a smaller profile than my previous PIXMA printers. Im not thrilled that Canon builds into its printers the ability to recognize generic ink cartridges. It warns you that printing will not work with generic ink cartridges ... an obvious ploy to maximize profits, because Canon ink cartridges are expensive. My old PIXMA MX922 worked just fine using cheaper, generic ink cartridges, even though it sent me the same message saying that it would not work. When the Canon ink runs out on my new PIXMA TS9520, Ill probably try generic ink again. If it truly fails to operate with generic ink, Ill be disappointed. One other word on Canon inkjet games: the popup that tells you an ink cartridge is almost empty, with flashing lights and an X on the cartridge icon, is a ploy, too. They want you to throw it out and buy a new one. Ive found I can print good quality for weeks with an "almost empty" cartridge. My advice is to keep printing until you see a change in quality, then replace the cartridge. But I dont want to bash Canon. I like PIXMA printers a lot, and I love Canons customer support.

There is nothing I like about this printer. Nothing. And for the price, I expected way more. I’ve had it for 2 days now, and have had nothing but problem after problem. For example: 1. There are black streaks on the back of every single page I print now. Started after paper jammed. 2. Went through 2 cleaning cycles to try to correct the issue, which used up HALF of my very expensive ink! I didn’t even do the deep clean, which warns you it will use a lot of ink. 3. Ink goes FAST. I’ve literally printed less than 20 pages total since I got the printer, and cleaned it twice, and the ink it came with (at least the Cyan and Magenta) are over half gone! 4. Anything other than standard printer paper jams like crazy in the lower paper cartridge. If you use slightly thicker paper, you MUST use the back paper tray, which sticks out quite a bit in the back, which means you have to keep the printer far away from the wall and drastically reduces precious desk space. 5. There are lines across everything in the top 2 inches of anything I print. This is after using their automatic print head alignment feature and cleaning twice. I can’t use this printer for my business with lines across everything. 6. Found out I cannot use off-brand ink cartridges, and I have to use Canon’s RIDICULOUSLY expensive ink. Nope. Not going to happen, Canon. Go ahead and be greedy. I’ll never buy another product from you as long as I live. I’ll just go back to Brother printers or try HP or Epson. Much less hassle! Keep in mind that I’ve only had this printer a couple of days and it’s already screwing up big time in many ways. I am definitely returning this printer!

I am so pleased with this printer, Canon has done it again. I paid more than I usual would but I wanted a printer without a fax and to have more photo quality. The photo quality and the speed in which it prints is excellent. It has 5 ink tanks which is great to just replace one at a time. I buy the XL which seem to last a long time. I print a lot of photos and do home office work so I was very pleased with the speed and print quality. Best Printer I have ever had, and this is my third printer. I would highly recommend this printer.

I was so excited about this printer as I am a card and scrapbook crafter. However, no one has 12 x 12 paper the weight required for this printer. How can Cannon make a printer that you can’t find paper for??? I am very disappointed!

The printer did manage to print on sticker paper, however the blues was too dark. I called tech support, but we could not adjust it regardless of the setting chosen. Also, when I was opening the ink packages it came with, I followed the instructions and the damn ink pitched all over me. It went on the floor, on my face, and on my clothes! Ridiculous quality control! Ive never had that happen with any of Canons inks before! I own a Pixma ip110 and bought this to replace it for heavy duty prints. But this is going back.

The Canon TS9520, if not used for a time, takes a long time to respond to a print command. Canon tech support tells me that if the printer is not used for about one hour, it goes into a "cool-down" mode, and will then take some time to "warm up". This is done to extend the life of the print head. My experience is that the "cool-down" begins much less than one hour after a print command, and takes 20-60 seconds to "warm up". Otherwise, the printer is fine, but the "warmup" delay is very annoying; failure to mention this in the Amazon description is a very important omission.

I was a little anxious about all the negative reviews regarding setup for canon printers. However, setup for this printer was a breeze. No issues there. Ive already printed several full page pattern papers and the amount of ink left is satisfactory. I also tried printing a 4x6 photo and the printer worked beautifully. The only possible negative comment that I could make about this printer is that you lose quality when you print small images (about 1.5x2in photos). But I have another photo printer for small photos so this is not a big deal. It does everything else beautifully and I would recommend it for crafters.

Dead on arrival. Ugh. Now have to wait a week for replacement. I have always used Canon, hoping for better replacement. Would not even turn on. 6004 error, pulled power, re plugged. Ugh. Canon response: send in for repair. Yeah, that is why I use Amazon Prime. Will update next week.

I had used Epson printers exclusively up to now, but I was so frustrated with ink leakage and ink streaking on everything I printed, I did my research and came up with this printer. I haven’t had it long, but I am impressed with how clean the prints are! As for photos, i’m Still working with ICC profiles to get the same colors to print right on my Ilford paper, but i’m Hopeful i’ll Get there. I’m also excited by the possibilities of printing bigger...overall, very impressed...so far!!!
