I dont believe that its possible for this printer to work wirelessly with my MacBook or iPhone. It was truly impressive how *every single* step in the instructions was an absolute fail ... not reflected in reality at all. "Press this button and X will happen." Press button. Nothing happens. "Download this setup .dmg file from this website and follow instructions." Setup program bonks immediately, every time. "Look for this wireless network starting with canon_ij." Wireless network doesnt exist. I started to wonder if it was just me, but then I scoped out the 1-star reviews and found many people with a similar experience. You get what you dont pay for. The printer works fine with a USB cable that you can find for $3 at Walmart (or $24 at Best Buy). Thats all I really needed at the end of the day but the blatantly false advertising about wireless compatibility with Apple stuff is pretty galling.

This huge thing is the best all in one printer Ive owned. I scanned a coloring book to test it and, it captures the bright vibrant colors perfectly. It was worth the $28 price tag. NOTE Its VERY important that you install the cd on your pc first. It gives you specific instructions on how to operate it for the first time with Bluetooth. The manual will NOT give you that information.

Update: I was never able to wirelessly scan, even after a couple of hours on the phone with the Canon technician. This did become annoying. But Ive lowered the rating now because this printer has repeatedly jammed trying to do double-side printing, requiring the printer to be turned on its side and the back of the printer to be opened. It started printing double lines after this malfunction. And it simply sucks up ink. I really miss having the control buttons on the front when things go wrong and they seem to go wrong rather regularly. I cant recommend this printer. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I have set up lots of printers but I can not figure out the scanner function on this printer for my Mac. Have already spent about four hours trying to follow instructions, download Bonjour etc. Very disappointed. There is no scanner button on the printer, so even if you could scan and your computer is in a different room, it would be a real pain. If anyone has any help on this, please let me know!

Had to return it. Ive always had Canon printers. Have never owned anything else. This one was SO hard to like! Setting it up shouldve been easier than this one was. I guess having one with a display screen making setting up air printing a breeze spoiled me. Having to download an app and change what wifi (canonblabla) I used stunk! Not as easy as my old canon was. Not being able to have both picture paper and document paper in at the same time was a big turn off. Also, wasted ink not knowing it wouldnt print a landscape picture until I physically turned the photo paper the right way. The last straw was when I tried to scan/print and it ate ALL the paper in the cassette! I got it out without damaging the printer, but I am very tech savvy and this printer wasnt about that. Its slow and loud. The search for a printer continues. Im scared itll take a visit to a brick and mortar store to get that done. Thank you Amazon for putting up with my returns and making them easy.

I thought I was different. Better. Smarter. I can certainly out-tech these other reviewers. I will thumb my printed pages at them. I was wrong. I cant out-tech anyone. Im just the same. No kind of sneetch is the best on the beach. This printer will not format. It was so close, then nothing. It did spew out two configuration tests. So helpful. You have the chance to be better. Smarter. Please, look elsewhere. Beware....beware....(re-read that in your spooky voice)

The setup on this is atrocious. They dont include a USB cable so you have to connect through wireless. Except theres no way to actually connect to your WiFi router. The instructions have you run their setup utility on your PC, which apparently scans your network for the printer, but how the hell is that supposed to work if you have your network password protected like any sane individual? Do they have some kind of magic to allow the printer to connect without having the WiFi SSID/password? Well if there is it didnt work for me. From a software design perspective it makes zero sense to me. Then when their scan doesnt work they send you on some stupid troubleshooting quest that isnt helpful at all. How much would it have cost to just include the USB cord? A couple dollars? I would have paid that. Instead I now have to order the USB cable because its that stupid square format that doesnt fit with anything other than a printer. What a crock.

I bought this printer with high hopes, hey, it had a four and a half star rating. But to date, I have not been able to to get it to work wirelesly . it just cant be found by any of my devices or anyone else in my homes wireless devices. I have done every thing the directions have said to do. I am going to send it back. I am very unhappy with it, and can not recommend it to anyone.

This review isnt about the one that I just bought it is about the one it replaced (Same exact product though). I had it for about 3 years before the power button quit working. I use it at work for scanning and making some copies and I worked it hard, over the course of time Ive put 1000s of scans through it and it trudged on and never let me down. So when it came time to replace it I didnt even look at other options, this is the only one I wanted. At this price point it has to be the best value out there for what it does. Highly recommended.

This is the absolute worst printer Ive ever bought! You will have so much trouble trying to print PDFs and other documents! If youre looking for a basic printer, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ONE! Its wireless, but if you need to diagnose and repair, you need to be connected via the direct cable, that doesnt come with it! I dont even use it much, because the settings are so complex. It took my scheduling company weeks to figure out a way for me to print my daily work schedule. I have to use the photo print from advanced options just to get it to print. BIG WASTE OF MONEY!

I bought the Canon MG3620 printer because its inexpensive and has the features I need. Consumer Reports calls this model a Best Buy, with a rating of "excellent" for both convenience and scan quality and an overall rating of "very good." In my home office I have the printer connected by a USB cable to my desktop computer, so Ive avoided problems with Wi-Fi described by some reviewers. The printer is compact enough to fit in the space available on the desk. The white color is attractive. So far, everything is working just as it should - no problems at all. I am very happy with this printer. Many reviewers on Amazon give the printer only one star. This worried me until I realized that there are similar one-star reviews for comparable printers of all other makes, not just Canon. Just look and youll see. On the New York Times thewirecutter.com website, the page about all-in-one printers states "All printers are disappointing, particularly color all-in-ones . . . No printer is free of rough edges, whether they come in the form of paper jams, software glitches, clogged printheads, or flaky Wi-Fi." One of the complaints Ive seen is that paper sheets slide off the top tray after going through the printer. I dont think this is a problem if the directions are followed: pull out the extension on the top tray; on the bottom tray that holds the unprinted paper, swivel out the extension and lift up the flap at the end of this extension. As for complaints about the high cost of ink cartridges, this is how Canon (as well as other manufacturers) makes up for the low cost of the printer. I have no problem with this. If, in time, my printer fails Ill just replace it with another - at $44 its a steal!
