I bought the iX6820 as a workhorse to relieve my spectacular Canon Pro-100 from work-duties, relegating it back to hobby photos. Ill spend half the time and $ refilling the iX vs the Pro-100. The iX runs pretty quiet, too, compared to earlier Canon Pixma printers I have, though not as quiet as the nearly silent Pro-100. With its large print head, speed is remarkably fast in "standard" mode, still producing excellent quality for minor work presentation pieces on heavier stock. Fine quality mode is just brilliant, and it still cranks out borderless 4x6 photos under 30 seconds. Wireless setup was pretty painless using the WPS button on my Bell router. For some reason the first try didnt work, but 2nd round it linked right up and has stayed online. The problem I actually have is Windows 10 on one of my machines showing the printers offline; but, my phone will still print direct, so its a MS problem, of course. Ive run some direct photo comparisons to my Pro-100 and have to say the result is quite good for a machine running four less ink carts. However, I think it compensates by oversaturating colors a bit, and the gamut is obviously not as wide, particularly the greyscale. Most users would still be thrilled with the photo results on decent paper. Just stay far away from that HP Vivid garbage paper- I only use it for glossy text flip charts for work- its terribly washed out for photos. Decent refill carts can be found for super cheap, or you can purchase clear, refillable carts with auto-reset chips to do your own easily. Precision Colors is the next best to Canon. If you need to print wider formats, like 11x17 tabloid or 13x19 posters, this machine is a BARGAIN if you have a little extra room and dont want all the scan/copy/fax extras that take up more space. I highly recommend this machine.

Ordered on the 20th - got the 30th - guess you know Im now a Prime member!! Got it set up and printed 4 8x10 borderless pictures. Absolutely perfectly beautiful!!! Then received the 13x19 photo semi gloss and this morning - 4/7 - printed the first 13x19 - BORDERLESS!!!! And again absolute perfectly beautiful!!!! I dont have any magnifying glass so Im looking at the picture as a regular normal person would - oh geeeee. I showed it to several other people and they loved it - couldnt believe I printed myself. I explained buying the new printer and how good it is. SSSsooooo.....from a regular type person;s point of view - this printer is fantastic!!!!! Update 4/9/17 - Have printed out 3 13x19 pictures plus the 4 8x10s - all borderless - all perfect!!!! Ive sold everything Ive printed so far with no problems. I strongly recommend this printer to anyone. Update 7/9/17 Still using the ix6820 - such a good printer!!! I do mostly 13x19 and 11x17 - working on second pkg of Canon Pro Luster photo paper - not one single problem!! The Arthur Imaging Ink works great with this printer too - no leaks, runs or anything - just clear vibrant pictures. Have used one pkg of 28 cartridges and waiting for 2 more pkgs to come. Update 11/12/18 No problems yet. Was laid up in rehab for 9 months after operation so ink cartridges sat in printer unused. Got home and printed a 13x19 after updating the drivers. Ink printed great. Still using Arthur Imaging Ink - why leave a good thing. Ink didnt dry out, printer work great after updating it - couldnt have done better than this.

Ive had this printer a little less than a month-- I was originally looking at an Epson Artisan 1430 ($330) or an Epson Expression ($200) because I create art and wanted a wide format printer that can do at least 11x17 borderless printing. When I found this one for $120 I hesitated because it seemed too goo to be true. Thus far it has meet and exceeded my expectations! The hardest part was finding good quality paper to print on but, after that, I friggin loved this thing. It prints borderless with ease, high quality and is pretty quick to boot. The only downside is that I would have loved to be able to print directly from my iPad. I mean... it can... but It has limitations... AIRDrop only prints 4x6.... thats it! I downloaded the canon app for the iPad but it doesnt have the 11x17 format or 8.5x11 that I print on-- it wont let me add a customer size either. Oh well--- I can still AirPrint from my Mac Book perfectly fine! Ill do a follow up review if anything changes but I LOVE this printer thus far!

I had to write a review of this printer even though Ive only had it a week, because I am so impressed by the print quality. I am branching out into selling my artwork as greeting cards and needed something to replace my diabolical Epson WF-3640 printer/scanner combo. To be clear, I was only looking to purchase a printer, as the scanner on my Epson is ok. I wasted hundreds of dollars in time and on ink cartridges trying to work with the printer on it over the past 18 months, and finally gave in. It is AWFUL and I will never buy another Epson printer. I took the plunge on this Canon Pixma iX6820 because it received decent reviews in the art world, and on Amazon. I had my eye on other Canon printers, but couldnt spend more than $150 so this fit the budget. INSTALLATION: Relatively easy. I had to download the setup files twice before I was able to run the programs, but once installed, it was an hour tops. WIFI CONNECTIVITY: Not so easy. Still havent gotten that sorted out. It would be nice if I had wifi connectivity, but as my printer is located right next to my computer, its not a dealbreaker to me if I dont have this feature. Ive never had luck with any printer and wifi connectivity, to be fair. PRINT QUALITY: Surprisingly good. I am still fine tuning the ideal print settings, as I work mainly in watercolor, pen & ink. Watercolor is challenging to reproduce accurately. That said, Ive already printed higher quality, more color-accurate prints on PLAIN COPY PAPER using this printer, than I ever did using very expensive photo paper in the Epson. EASE OF USE: I have not used the My Photo Garden or whatever its called yet, and you are not required to use it when printing. Its just an additional print formatting option. I have had no trouble printing from Photoshop directly, from PDF, or from my default Windows Photo Viewer. INK USAGE: Cant really tell yet, as its only been a week, but the cartridges that came in the box were easy to install (not messy or difficult like I read in some reviews) and still show full levels after about 15 high quality full-page prints have been made, plus various smaller proofs. I will update this review if anything changes. UPDATE 1 MONTH LATER: I am still impressed. Ink cartridge life is great compared to my old Epson. The only 2 issues I have are: it is a pretty slow printer. Takes about 15 minutes to print 25 full color "photo setting" 8.5x11 documents. However, it is quiet, and the quality is gorgeous. The other issue is that it still doesnt work to connect wirelessly. Since my computer is always next to the printer, its not a big issue for me, but for those who must have wireless print capability, plan to spend some time with tech support if installation doesnt go smoothly on our own. I havent gotten around to it yet.

This printer is AMAZING. Im printing CD booklets on premium 8x11 28lb paper and its flawless. Im printing my art portfolio in 11x17 and then cutting it with a paper cutter to 11x14 and it is wonderful! I can print test copies and go back and fix mistakes without paying another company. I can do it all from home. This is, without a doubt, one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. Pros: You can do portfolio printing yourself in large sizes! It also very closely matches the colors on the computer screen. You can always change the monitor settings to match the printer output, but this printer matches my Macbook Pro so closely that I didnt have to change anything. It has wifi which is perfect. Contrary to the other review, It holds quite a stack of paper in the back holding area. It does not, however, have a bottom try that hold a ton of paper like some other printers do. Ink Cartridges were easy to install and work great. It prints BORDERLESS 8x11 and 11x17 no problem! Cons: Its as loud as a printer. Not a bad thing, just not a good thing. There is NO CONTROL PANEL. This is probably because it ONLY prints. It does NOT copy, scan, or fax. I bought it for printing only so thats okay, I just wish there was a panel that I could change settings on just in case. Ive only had it for a little less than a week but Ive done a lot of printing on it. I think Ive almost broken even compared to going to a printing store. I cant express to you enough how wonderful it is to have the freedom to mess up a paper and just reprint it right there. No more nervousness about messing up that $2.00 paper you had printed. Its a wonderful relief. As long as youre not looking to copy or scan, this is a wonderful printer! Keep you old "all-in-one" for the scanning and copying. I highly recommend this product!

This printer has more than lived up to my expectations. With rich and vibrant colors, and the ability to print on paper up to13x19", I have been able to make professional quality prints at a (relatively) reasonable price. This is NOT for printing documents, although it is perfectly capable of doing so. The ink can be expensive if you want to use Canon brand ink. I have found that Arthur Imaging makes ink with no perceptible difference in quality at a fraction of the price, and would recommend this to anyone on a budget. Great for artists!

I own a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine and use ALOT of different papers in it.Or at least I used to! Then our old printer stopped taking cardstock and wouldn’t print on kraft paper.I browsed for printers several times over the years.Read alot of reviews looking for a printer that would take specialty papers and not break the bank. When our last printer would no longer print without replacing every ink cartridge I had enough.I was done dumping money into a printer that was complete garbage.Eneter the PIXMA! This thing is the best! I have used it for vellum, heavy cardstock, photo paper and printable heat transfer vinyl all with NO problems! The print quality is excellent and the price cannot be beat! It DOES take a bit longer for the printer to start the actual printing but it is well worth the wait.

I cant believe how much I love this printer!! It arrived this afternoon and I had it up and printing within about 10 minutes with no problem at all. I did a few test prints on 8 1/2 x 11 glossy photo paper and it looked beautiful I then decided to move on to the large format, 13 x 19 Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M11PTPX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) that I had ordered along with the printer. I printed out some of my digital artwork and photography. So far, I have printed out 5 large pieces and numerous smaller ones and, after each one is completed, I keep finding myself doing the happy dance and actually saying out loud how awesome they look!! This is a phenomenal printer, especially at this price point! I am still using the initial ink that came with the printer, and it is going strong. I purchased another box of ink (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073GFCL8L/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for when the time comes. I have the printer connected via USB and the large 13 x 19 color prints have been finishing in between 4-5 minutes and the 8 1/2 x 11 in somewhere around 2 or so. I havent yet tried the wireless connection, so I cant speak to the speed there. Colors are extremely accurate compared to what is showing on my monitor. Over the years, I have used numerous professional print shops to have many prints of my artwork and photography made. I can honestly say that the quality of what I have seen so far out of this machine rivals all of them! Now, I only wish it printed larger! :) I am attaching some sample images. The ink coverage, the crispness, saturation and the boldness of the colors are stunning in person! The brightly colored image is an enlargement of a photo that I took of one of my small 4" resin art pieces. Colors are spot on. If you are even slightly considering this printer.....BUY IT! You wont regret it. Im so happy I heeded all of the positive reviews here and bought it.

I have purchased several 11x17 printers over the past few years; as a project manager Ill go to the customers site frequently while the project is in the installation phase. I always need an 11x17 printer onsite- and I never take it with me when I leave the job (always donate it to someone onsite). Ergo- the 11x17 printer becomes a commodity item that Ive gained some experience with. Typically buy Brother (not a fan of em but dont usually get anything junky). I saw this 11x17 printer for $126 bucks and good reviews so had to give it a try. One of the best printers ive purchased! Its compact (compared to bulbous Brother multi-function scanner/copier/minifridge/printer I often end up with). Its half the cost (priced well for what you get... JUST A PRINTER). Just finished up the 1st 11x17 ream of paper (500 sheets) and still prints like new. The deal-cincher is the refills. I purchase the aftermarket jumbo pack of refills recommended by Amazon- and that turned into an excellent purchase as well. I connected to the printer via USB- which worked flawless (as expected). Cant comment on wireless setup/didnt try it. Cant really comment on the speed- other than it seemed normal for an 11x17 print, with the paper loaded in tabloid style (17" axis fed into the printer). The extendable paper supports for 11x17 paper worked as expected. Great work horse- will purchase again for next project.

It can print 13x19 Borderless! Everything I print on looks great. No issues. I do not like the canon software. With this baby I can print photos and it looks way better than walgreens or walmart photo service. Now for the reason I chose this one.....the INK! I got 5 refills of EVERY color for $18.95!!!!! I have printed hundreds of photos anywhere from wallet, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 8.5x11.5, 13x19. Never once had any issues like paper jams or the ink bleeding or making a mess. The paper actually feeds into the printer properly it takes 1 piece of paper unlike many other printers that will pull No paper or 3 or 4 sheets at a time. It is wireless and does not have a touch screen. IT IS NOT AN ALL IN ONE. People are knocking the rating down for this when it clearly states its only a printer, It WILL NOT SCAN or fax or anything else but print but its the best printer I have ever used. Check out the aftermarket ink it does a wonderful job and you can get refills for under 4 bucks for a complete refill!!! How can you beat that!!!
