We bought this for my office a couple of years ago for a fax machine replacement, yes, people still fax. We have also been using it as a scanner, color copier, and color printer. It has been my go to printer at work, despite having a Brother Laser printer on the network as well. If I need a bunch of black and white prints of something, I will use the laser, however, 95% of the time I use MX922. It works well as a fax machine, prints black and white well, prints color well, copies black and white well, copies color well (although slower than black and white), and scans okay. The only thing I wish they could improve is the software for the scanner. It may be the owner/reviewers fault, but the scanning interface is not as intuitive as it could be. It would be nice if I could just let the program know, I want to make a pdf of the next few pages at 600dpi, and fire it off. Heck, it might even do that for all I know, but as a frequent user who does not rtfm, the correct way to do so hasnt leaped out at me. Also, in order to do everything it does, its big, and its heavy. Youll need to have a place for it. Now for the heck yeah, I just bought one for my house too, despite it being overkill... The price: cmon, it can be had for $100 delivered. This thing is a powerhouse and technical marvel for that price, and I do love and use the crap out of it. The output looks great. It is VERY easy to change paper and ink cartridges, etc. It is easy to set up and get on your network. It is easy to diagnose any problems that crop up, low ink, network being down, etc. It is extremely reliable, with no paper jams. (I think I had 2 easily resolved paper jams in over two years of heavy use.) It runs cheap copy paper and thick card stock without a hiccup. The printer software is great. You can adjust as needed, or ignore as needed. (scanner, not as much) It prints on both sides of the paper. It can print skinny time cards and envelopes very easily. It has a great document feeder that actually works. ...and most importantly to cheapskates like me: Canon printers are not ink nazis. You can use non-Canon ink. Hopefully, they can still make a living, but they wont make a killing off their ink. Factory Canon ink, however, is much more rainproof as I found out yesterday at the outdoor range. We got limp card stock to score, but I was amazed that the Canon ink (included with my newest printer) did not run at all. I was impressed. So my bottom line is that if you need a b&w and color printer, and scanner, and fax machine, and are printing anything from envelopes to regular 8.5x11, and have a hundred bucks and somewhere to put it...buy it. I was NOT given this product or even a discount, or coerced, or given a cool hat or anything, for my highly opinionated though amazingly accurate opinion on this bad boy. (I paid real after tax money for it and still liked it.) So there.

Run do not walk away from this one. Horrible experience. Wireless worked for about a minute and a half and it died completely and mysteriously 14 months later. The printer ink is crazy expensive because you need five different inks and it seems to go through ink crazy fast on normal printing. If you look on the canon website it has horrible reviews and similar complaints with only 2 and 1/2 stars out of five. Still cant fathom how this printer got 4 stars on Amazon. So grumpy with this purchase.

I hate this printer. I bought it because it was rated one of the better low-end three-in-one machines. It is horrible. It is not user friendly at all. I consider myself pretty tech savvy, but I find operating this device difficult. I have already called Cannon three times in the past two weeks to ask a question about the operation. The worst part of this printer is how long it takes to prepare itself before printing. When you tell it to print, you get a "processing...please wait" message, and it sits there forever preparing the heads. I called Cannon and the customer support guy told me to leave the power on at all times. He said that the long preparation was due to the power being off. So I did what he suggested. Just printed something and the exact same thing happened again - had to wait close to four minutes before the stupid machine warmed up and printed even though I have had the power on since I made that call last week! Also, I have been googling the model to see if I could find any solutions on my own and came across an article that stated this model uses THE MOST ink of any model. Do not buy!

Worthless. Received, unpacked, and turned on. Error code 6000 appeared on screen and that was as far as I got. From posts on Cannon site, this is a problem with this model. (Wish I had read their posts before I bought.) Cannon support is non existant. Support said If the warranty was still in effect, (I had it less than 24 hrs.) maybe they would take a return and issue me a reconditioned model. If I opted to have it picked up at my home I would hae to pay extra. I advise not buying Canon, this product is bad but there support is worse. Canon should take a page out of Amazons problem and return policy.

I THOUGHT I did my research before I bought another printer to replace my HP but apparently not enough! I had my HP for YEARS. Almost zero problems. When I was ready for another one I thought I would try a Canon. I grew up with them and felt they had quality products. This printer.....ehhhh not so much. Got weird message but finally got that fixed by calling their support and almost an hour on the phone. This time I have this B200 issue. After googling it, apparently its a common problem. This printer is RARELY used compared to my HP I had in college. I mean its practically brand new. I have had it for a couple years now but using it once every two months it should be like brand new. Its so annoying. And there are like FIVE different color cartridges. I was lucky to find an Amazon dealer that sold them very cheap but if I hadnt it would have been MUCH more expensive. Feels like it runs out very quickly for barely using it. Looks like Im going back to HP if they dont fix this over the phone. Last time it broke they said it was going to be the same price to buy a new one so diagnosis may be similar. What a WASTE. Hope Salvation Army can fix it..... UPDATE: Just spoke with Canon tech support. She had me go through these motions and didnt work. Heres where it gets WEIRD. She goes on to say to me MAAM IM GOING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING AND I NEED YOU TO AGREE WITH ME. Me: What? Her: MAAM IM GOING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING AND I NEED YOU TO AGREE WITH ME. Me: Well thats a weird statement but go ahead. She then proceeds to tell me that basically to fix it will cost more, blahblahblah. SO BASICALLY BUY A NEW ONE. IM SO DONE WITH CANON PRINTERS. STICK TO MAKING CAMERAS THANKS.

This printer was purchased because I wanted an airprint device, a printer that had good quality, and something that would print from all our workstations. I hate to say it, but this printer is a true pain. STANDBY MODE: When it goes in standby mode, printing to it does not wake it up and none of us can airprint to it. It often requires turning off and back on to get it to recognize somebody wants to print to it. AIRPRINT Isnt one of the main points of airprint, is to be somewhere else in the house and print something using a phone or tablet? And then at your leisure go grab what you printed. I would have to say I have been successful about 10% of the time getting any phone or tablet to find the airprint device. WIFI Connection: I wanted a printer that would handle all the printing from the various computers we have. Unfortunately, you can never count on it being connected to wifi, even though the modem/wifi is less than 4 feet from it. We have to reset the connect at least once a month and thats annoying. Positive side: It really does print lovely prints when it prints.

I have had it with this printer for 3 reasons: 1. Grabs multiple pieces of paper so prints half on one sheet and half on another. I have tried cheap paper and expensive paper, makes no difference and this happens OFTEN. 2. When your ink is out, ITS OUT. You cannot even choose to print all black if one of the colored ones is out. I print mostly in black, I find this quite annoying. It will STOP and will not let you continue at all until you replace it. 3. Sometimes it decides to "do its thing" in between printing. It seems like it has to reboot or something, goes thru a process that takes several minutes and when you just want your one copy, it seems like forever. I have really liked Canon before, but this one bites, had this one for about 5 months. Copies are good, just have to go through too much.

10/10 PRINTING QUALITY: Photos, art, brochures, invitations, vellum, clear sticker photo paper (folder covers), CD covers, high quality prints...+ all regular printing. If you like the quality of Epson for photo printing, you will like this: nearly as good + it can do 100 more things. 10/10 SCANNER QUALITY 1/10 Lasting quality - See below. WILL DIE after 2 YEARs GUARANTEED. - BUY the 4 year PROTECTION PLAN! 100% WORTH IT. 1/10 Canon: Environmentally responsible - See below. Absolutely love this printer BUT I have beef with the people who designed this thing because, just like so many reviews say and just like Apple forces you to buy a new iPhone when your phone cant handle new updates, Canon has built this printer to die for no other reason than greed after 2 years. After 2 years, ON THE DIME, my 1st printer died. Its as if they insert a "self-destruct" chip that on its 2nd birthday, like a reverse Sleeping Beauty, this thing kicks the bucket, and for no reason. Like 0 reason. It was working fine on one page, and on the next, the whole printer just turned off silently and couldnt be turned back on. No spark, no noise, no nothing. Just done. I was in the middle of a major project and needed my home printer immediately and highly functionning, no time to research a new one. So I reordered a 2nd printer and I got the 4 year protection plan. The new printer arrived (printer #2). It too had some internal defect in it, and I couldnt do any of the initial set up install functions required. I had to send it back. I now had 2 printers sitting in my living room, 3 when the 3rd arrived a day later. It looked like they were breeding. Thankfully, Amazon, sent me a 3rd printer immediately, so i could have a working one right away. Amazons customer service was great! TLDR: This is an AMAZING printer/scanner that can probably print your car in Hi DEF, but BUT BUY THE PROTECTION PLAN because it WILL DIE AFTER 2 YEARS (which is criminal). Canon should be sued for the horrible fraud thats going on with this thing and how they make it die after 2 years on the dime. Prior to this printer (or set of), I had my last Epson printer for 10-12 years. Canon, save the environment, be ethically responsible and dont just think about your greedy shareholders, build these things to last and not to take up more space in a landfill.

I had a Canon MX870 that died after a long and successful relationship and I wanted something that would work with PCs, Macs and Linux systems. This meets the absolute minimum criteria and then it falls off a cliff. - Wifi doesnt work. Google it - most people say to just give up and hardwire it to a router. - You cant program it to NOT go into sleep mode. This means when I go to print the printer is offline. I have to go push a button on the printer control panel to get it to wake up. Heres how that works: I get ready to print from the first floor. Go up to the second floor to wake the printer up. Go down to the first floor to print. Go up to the second floor to get the printed pages. Come on - its 2017. - Cant scan with Canon drivers. CAN NOT. After days of working with customer support I was able to use Vuescan software from Hamrick to get it to scan, but only when hardwired to the PC. - Photo color is dull, even on maximum resolution, with new ink and high-quality photo paper. - Canon didnt come out with drivers for OS X Sierra for months after Sierra was available and the printer would not work in the meantime. Dont expect it to work with new OS upgrades for a while. No more Canons. Something happened to their quality control that has created a plastic pile of junk.

Yes, I called this printer a beast ... because its big, and it does everything. I had neglected to read the dimensions (my bad) so did not realize how large it is. If you are looking for a compact printer, this isnt the one. However, if size isnt an issue, and you want a printer that does everything, and does it well, this Canon MC922 is perfect. For home use, and low-quantity business use, this printer is excellent. The one negative is that it is slow by todays standards. One of the selling points on this printer for me is that it uses five separate ink cartridges - pigment ink in black for b/w document printing and dye ink in black, cyan, magenta and yellow. With individual ink cartridges, you just replace each as they empty. I set the printer up so that it uses the large pigment black ink for all documents, and the fast draft printing uses less ink but still prints sufficiently for most of my home needs. Easy to change the setting for documents that need to be best quality. I printed some vacation photos in 4 x 6 to send to an elderly relative, and while I used photo paper, I used standard quality, which prints faster, uses less ink, and for snapshot purposes, works very well. For a larger photo and/or one that is to be displayed or otherwise needs photo quality, its slower, but turns out great results. I love being able to easily print from mobile devices. It is possible to print a photo or document from facebook or website without downloading, etc. My son needed to print an application that was ten pages and two-sided. He used his iphone to print it, and with just a few taps on his phone, out came the entire application, printed on both sides! I was amazed -- I guess I am behind the times on what printers are capable of these days. He also needed a copy of a document that was two sided, a few clicks on the control, feed it in, and out comes copy, two sided. Ive mentioned "slow" a few times. It takes as much as two minutes at times before the printer starts printing. Print speed is relatively fast in fast mode and standard mode for photos; but higher quality is slow. For home use, low printing demand, this is not an issue, but if you need to do production printing, or need a printer that fires up and prints NOW, then look elsewhere. Overall, I highly recommend this printer for general home use, and for photo printing. The print quality is excellent, the features make it the right printer for whatever you need to print. I did not realize how handy duplex printing would be! Or mobile printing! Very happy that I selected this printer beast.
