I bought 2 of the printer, one works good and one works half good. The one I say half good is because the scan button doesnt work. I need to scan through the computer. Both printers have a problem for the Toner Cartridge. Showing I have a Counterfeit or Non-Canon Cartridge. But the Cartridge came with the machine. After awhile, an error light shows up in one of my printers, and the error indicates I have a Cartridge communication error. I am not happy with this stupid problem. Contacting Canon now, see how long it will response me.

I recently upgraded from HP Deskjet 6500 inkjet printer. The HP still works fine but the HP Document Manager software started to crash on almost all machines and I was on the lookout for some fast printer. I was shocked to see the speed of this one. No more noise like the inkjet printers and not that bulky as an office printer. And the paper is out within 4-5 secs of firing the print command !! Use Windows 7 and Wired connection from a switch for printing. Pros - Fast printer. Laser 137 Cartridges are cheap ( 10$ a peice ). Inkjet printers are easy to refill and cost effective. Cons - Reading the reviews - invested in the 4 year warranty for 10$. Might be worth it if it breaks down.

I am writing this review off of my old Cannon printer. I bought this Cannon printer to replace my old one which was just like this one, except 5 years old. I decided to replace it with this newer model as the fax wasnt working quite as well as it used to. My old one I worked it like a dog for business purposes, my toner lasted a long time, I had no issues with it, up until the fax part started giving me error messages in the middle of faxing. I am hoping this one turns out to be just as incredible, just a newer model. I had looked at a laser printer, but the cost was about 3 times more and the ink was $150.00 a cartridge, which I could not afford. With these printers, you can buy the toner knockoffs for anywhere from $12.00 to $15.00 and they last a while. My old printer was a workhorse and I am hoping this one is too! You can buy cheap ink printers, but they get you with the cost of the ink, which never lasted me very long for my purposes. With this printer, the toner isnt too expensive and it will last a while.

I purchased this machine in February 2017 for $117. Three days ago I went to bed and the printer was fine. I came in the next day and it had morphed into a large paperweight. It was plugged into a power strip that also powers my computer. Computer is fine, so the problem wasnt a power surge. I called Canon support and was told that they had no idea what the problem was and I was out of warranty so call sales and they could give me a discount on a new one. They offered me a new one for $131 and said they had never heard of one sold for the price I paid Amazon. A live span of only 16 months is unacceptable. Time to look elsewhere. By the way, I still believe that documentation is a joke.

I finally made the big jump from inkjet for many years and I had researched this one, because Canon has been reliable for me. Im so happy with this machine. For Mac I tried the enclosed disc but it wasnt loading. Went to Canon site got the proper driver and scan software, and after a few tries it loaded. Ive printed out a few business documents and also scanned with it, finding that my pre loaded from other Inkjet Canon program Image Capture it uploaded the scan instantaneously . I didnt want a wireless printer, and now I know I made the right choice with this Laser Canon. Its easy, and its real super for the price.

Sensational 5 stars for this all in one imageclass. We were so happy with our original imageclass that when my parents were showing frustration with having to keep purchasing ink cartridges for their inkjet printer/fax/scanner, I steered them towards Canons imageclass, because ours has been such a fantastic workhorse. You see, for the cost of about 5 or so ink cartridges, they can have a lazer system instead and toner is available on amazon for $12ish. And, with toner, even if its not being used, it wont dry out like injet system. They were sold on this idea and havnt looked back. They love this because it is so much faster than the inkjet printers.

I bought this to replace an earlier ImageClass model. After like 15 years of that machine being my home office copier, I was glad to see that Canon was still making them. I dont use it as a printer, so cant comment on that, but the copies are nice and crisp. I do have 2 complaints: 1) I couldnt figure out how to load multiple sheets in it to copy a stack of paper, and had to go to Canon site to find out. 2) Copies now come out toward the user rather than to the right, and they exit onto a pretty skimpy collection thingy. So if youre copying a bunch of papers, you do have to pull them off of there very few sheets or you will get a stack of paper that is too big for the thing.

I bought this to replace my HP 2605DN. What a difference 6 second turn on fast printing. Did have to call support as the SCAN sopped. The nice talking lady had to delete the software and re-install. I was going to try that while waiting about 1/2 hour for response. The monochrome is not a hassle most of my work is B&W. (The HP was color). The replacement black cartridge was only 16$ and still using the one that came with laser printer. Set was smooth lot of packaging places, including one buried under the carriage causing not to print. I personally very excited about this replacement laser printer after thousands of pages from the HP.

I dont do a lot of printing at home. My ink jet printer ink was drying up faster than I was using it. The laser printer ink is powder prior to fusing to the paper so it doesnt dry up. For me it is cheaper in the long run. This model doesnt have Wifi so you have to connect by USB or Ethernet. Its monochrome (black only) which works for me and I dont have to buy colors. Even though it prints monochrome (black) it WILL scan photos in color and format as a PDF right to my computer and name the file (img1, img2, etc). Works for me!

All of my printing is one color; my last printer (also a Canon) lasted 10 years, but finally died. I started shopping for a new one, and discovered that there was such a thing as a monochrome printer. (I dont get out much) I wish I had discovered laser printer years ago. So quiet, and fast! Much cheaper to run than a ink jet. This unit was fairly easy to set up (probably easier if you read instructions) Just remember to install the software before you connect the printer to your computer.
