1-simple 2-easy to set up 3- fast 4-reliable 5- Using laser printer premium photo paper (Staples Photo Supreme Paper, 8 1/2" x 11", Gloss, 100/Pack,use with laser printers), I achieved an excellent photo quality. It helped my Canon inkjet photo printer! 6- double side scan is a big time saver. 7-double side printing is very fast 8- Air print and mobile printing work like a charm 9- Windows and Mac compatible 10- printing app is easy to use 11-Eventhough It cant see a 5g network, having a 2.4 connection is enough for doing a good job. 12- Can copy, scan and print without connectiing to a computer 13- Has a USB port. You can print and scan from and on a usb memory stick directely 14-great price

Best printer Ive ever bought. Pros 2-sided multi-page feeder scanner / 2-sided print. Multi-tray can accommodate many irregular paper types / sizes Robust software / drivers (use recommended). Easy to setup and use. Ink that comes with it seem to have a good bit of life in them. Print quality is outstanding! This is especially true if advanced features are selected when printing digital-print-media. Ethernet, Wireless, or USB options. If connected to Ethernet (lan) printer is still accessible via WiFi devices if they are on same network / subnet. Unit is solidly built (slightly flimsy multi-tray door, though) Very fast printing for every day printing. This is true for 2-sided prints and high-quality (higher DPI set) prints as well. Has ability to turn off Gray-compensation (i.e. when colors are used to create shades of gray instead of just black). Mobile print is easy and intuitive. Cons HTTP Management page is lack luster. Address book management doesnt really work outside of Work-group managed service or ADDS integration. Options required lots of reading into to get exactly how I wanted it, but this isnt really the worst thing.. I hope that they add more mobile print features in the future. Print features without dedicated app are lackluster, but this is Apples and Googles fault - really...

I was in the market to purchase a new All-in-one (AIO) color laser printer. The last color printer i had was a Brother 4070CDW, which is still functional. After 10 years, it was time to replace it mostly due to: 1) expensive toners, 2) leaking toners (geniuine brother toners), and 3) the most irritating printer to wireless printer. I happened to come across this Canon printer on sale at $249, and with a $50 gift card the printer costed only $214 (after tax), which was an incredible bargin. Like many other bargin hunters, the read through all the reviews and the most noteable comments were inital setup and clunky software. The inital setup: I forgo reading the manual. The connected to my router directly through an ethernet jack first as one user suggested and then I switch the printer to wireless mode. IMO I dont think it would have made a difference as it found and connected to my network pretty easy. I might set the printer to a Static IP address for the printer in future if i ever develop connection and waking issues. Aftwards, I downloaded and installed the MF733CDW (1) Drivers and (2) Scanning Utility. First print was flawlessly. I never seen a printer print immediately after hitting the "enter" button. My Brother printer took eons to even register. For the scanner, if you dont see your printer on the network during the installation, then your computer probably has a "firewall" up and requires permissions. FYI, the scanner utility runs in the background and at startup. This enables your printer to scan to specific computer on your network (granted it has the scanner utility installed). Scanning to e-mail: I recommend logining into your Canon System Manager Mode to configure this by typing the IP address of your printer onto your web browser. ***Note, if you use gmail to send it, then you might have to lower the security permission on your gmail account. I had my phone next to me when i started to get warnings about an attempted login from the printer. Somewhere in the email there was an option to lower the security permission.*** Then: 1. Preference ==> Network Settings ==> Port Number Settings ==> SMTP ....change to 587 [I used google to e-mail scan documents and following ports are recommended : Port: 465 (SSL required) or 587 (TLS required)] 2. Function Setting ==> TX Settings ==> Network Settings - Email/I-Fax Settings SMTP Sever: smtp.gmail.com e-mail address: youremail@gmail.com SMTP Authentication: User name: youremail@gmail.com Password: ***** Use TLS for SMTP: Checked I also have it setup to scan to my synology server as an alternative option as well. This requires adding the server folder in your address book. When registering a new Destination file in the Address Book, the Host Name: YourComputerName or YourSeverName Folder Path: the folder path within your computer or server I didnt setup the fax and have idea if it works since i dont have a land line. I really like this printer and it works flawlessly for me. I setup all the buttons on the main screen to my preference to make it easier to scan documents to certain locations. That was a huge plus for me. I also tried out the android app - Canon Mobile Business Solution, which connected/scanned/printed as expected. Overall, for $214 this printer quite a bargin. Only time will tell. With that, I am looking to use High Yield Generic Toners for the printer to save cost. I see how thatll turn out.

I am amending my previous review. In October this printer was 5 months old and the noise it was making was horrible. I called support tech and found that it was under warranty. I could either take it to a Canon repair facility and drop it off for repair or they would deliver a refurbished replacement and my warranty would continue. The repair facility was way too far, so I opted to have a refurbished printer delivered. That requires that you 1) unpack and lift the new one out of the box, then lift the other and put it in the box. This printer and box weighs 70 pounds. Although I am a senior citizen, I accomplished this task. Second problem, trying to get UPS to pick the printer up. Several calls and complaints and they came. Set up the refurbished printer - print about 40 copies and squeaking loud noise that sounds like a 1950s sci-fi movie. Call tech support. Same result, new printer - lift out of box, box the old one, fight with UPS, set up new printer and guess what...squeaking noise with each copy. So third printer was not a charm. There is something seriously wrong with these printers. Last time I spoke to tech support they informed me because these printers were warrantied for three years, I could not get a refund and I could not upgrade to the next level because the next level is a business printer and the warranty is one year and repairs can only be done by an onsite repair man with prohibitive costs. So, I AM STUCK WITH THIS STINKING PRINTER. I plan to call again and try to get tech support. Best case scenario they refund the money and take this back. Worse case scenario, they take this back and I lose my money. Either way I am getting rid of this printer. Not worth my time, effort, energy and quite frankly Im sick and tired of this process.

Wow. FAST! First: This thing really _was_ easy to set up and use. We havent used too many features yet (basically scan, copy, print), but they all work great. Second: Did I mention this thing is FAST??? To respond, that is. I have an HP color laser (not all-in-one), the LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw, which is a terrific printer, and its nowhere near this fast. Example: when I have a 4-page document which combines text and pictures, normally after I click "Print", with the HP theres a delay of 30 second to a minute before the first page is printed. Fine, theres a network, theres spooling, images have to be prepared, whatever. Just a minor, but (I assumed) unavoidable "feature" of printing mixed documents. But THIS bad boy? Click "Print", count to one Mississippi, and the dang thing is starting to spit out paper! The first few times I thought "What happened? Did my wife enter a print job a minute ago, and thats it showing up? Nope, thats mine. Sheesh!" I havent timed how long each page takes, but its also pretty fast. For a home office environment, so far this baby is perfect.

Ive owned and tried unsuccessfully to use this printer for the last month and its about ready to be thrown out. Prints great, but dont try to figure out how to operate most of the features, even had my IT people look at it and it would end up costing more than the printer cost to make it completely functional. The cost of the cartridges is astronomical, but I havent purchased any to replace the originals at this point and it probably wont last long enough to waste the money. Had to call customer service during setup and I must say they were great, but I have never had to use outside help to setup any of the 7 other printers in our office, just this one. Have gone online to try to learn how to set the printer up for functions and either Im an idiot or the instructions are just so cryptic that they are impossible to understand. Now yesterday I was trying to scan a multi-page document through the feeder and even though the printer sees that documents are loaded it will still only scan from the glass, never tried to run the feeder, even when I gave it no other choice and told it feeder only. Unfortunately its too late to return this to Amazon, but I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRINTER! Think I will give the printer to someone who is really desperate to have something. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!

Choice: I was going to purchase a lesser model as I did not need the scanning or fax capability but the unit I wanted was out of stock so I opted for this machine and I am glad I did. It is my first laser printer having owned inkjets since the beginning of time and I (like many) simply got tired of cheap machines with expensive ink that can be sucked up simply by lack of use or constant head cleaning. True the toner is more expensive but for my needs it will probably be cheaper when compared to inkjet over time. Pros: Piece of cake setup not by using the manual but rather watching one of the YouTube videos that was posted. I actually ran the video as I was going step by step with my printer. The result was a flawless installation from unpacking to WiFi printing. The only cable hooked up is for power, if I need fax I will plug that in but I have no need. This bugger is "HEAVY" and if you are an old guy like me then be prepared to lug it in stages from the box to the setup. If you are a weightlifter or have someone help its no big deal. I did not give it a con on weight because I knew the weight and size before I even ordered it .... research pays so no surprises. The control panel is easy to use and program but very sensitive, it took a few tries to locate and enter my time zone but a minor inconvenience and not worth knocking down a star. One thing that would be great is if the control panel could be detached and placed on a desk as in my case, the printer is only a few inches away. Again, not worth knocking down a star and the exercise getting out of my chair will do me good. Text and image quality is excellent, as a photographer I send my work out for printing but if I need high end graphics and even a frame-able photo image I could get by with this machine. One photo on standard (non photo) paper was quite nice, no streaking and good color matching, I look forward to running photo paper at a later time. By the way, I have read not to put inkjet photo printer paper into this machine, it can cause serious problems if not damage the machine. When I print photos from a printer I use the paper recommended by the mfg for best color management. Basically, if you need a quick print of a photo this does a nice job but again, if you need high end photo printing as in my case, I send it out. Cons: The manual is horrible and the first few pages assume you do not know how to read. If you are familiar with putting together IKEA products you will understand how the initial manual functions, not to berate IKEA, I like those folks and have some of their office furniture. The bulk of the quick start manual is text and in different languages but if you watch the video (watch several) it really is a cake walk. You can also download the full manual directly from Canon, so far the one on the enclosed CD is internet based although there may be a PDF in there somewhere. In final, my initial impression is a good one, if things change I will update this review. Aesthetically speaking this is a very professional looking machine so if it runs as good as it looks I will be most happy!

Received the MF733CDW four days ago and have run it through its paces. This all-in-one printer was an upgrade to an older Brother all-in-one monochrome laser printer that is still going strong in a home office, but lacked color and wireless printing. I also purchased but returned a Ricoh all-in-one color laser that was not fully Mac compatible. The Canon MF733CDW setup was easy on our Mac based wifi network. Just need to know your SSID (network name) and Network Key (WiFi password). Everything is done from the control panel by following the easy prompts. It only took 15 minutes including unboxing and fax set up. Black and color prints are fast with high quality from Mac Pro, Macbook Pro, iPad Air 2 and iPhone X. This is not for high quality photos, but very good to excellent color as a business printer. Adobe Illustrator, MS Word and PDFs files all look great, including clean small text. Copier quality is great from magazine and books. The platen is small, but suitable for letter, legal size and most magazines. Envelope printing is great using the manual feed. Was able to load three at a time. Document feeding for scans and copies was also easy and fast, but I have not tried all the duplexing options yet. Overall, highly satisfied with no complaints. I will update this review if I run into any issues through normal usage.

I have a Canon monocolor laser printer that is not wifi enabled - and I love it, except I work mostly from a chromebook and to switch to dinosaur of a computer if I want to print something (which is not very often and why I have a laser printer because I hate inkjets that go dry because of low use). I finally decided to get a wifi/cloud printer and went ahead and got the color, too, as every once in a while I do want to print something in color. It was fairly simple to setup (I also found a youtube video that walked me through setting up scan to email, etc.) - I still had to use my dinosaur of a computer to get it setup for basic printing function, but am now able to print from my phone, my chromebook, etc - its fabulous and convenient. Then, I restarted my router, per the FBI plea, and had a warning that my IP address had changed. So, I did a quick google search, found instructions on the Canon website for how to update your IP address whenever it resets like that and within minutes was back to printing. I also printed out the instructions for doing that because I restart my router about once a month anyway (whenever my internet seems slow, that usually takes care of the issue). It does take a bit of tech savvy to get it setup - so you might need someone do it for you - if so, ask them to set a static IP Address and then you dont have to worry about it changing if you restart your router. Oh, and this thing is HUGE and HEAVY - haha, I had no idea it would be this big - Ive got it sitting on the floor beside my desk until I can figure out what I want to do with it. I might not have gotten it had I realized how big it was, but I like it so much that I will make it work space-wise. As far as Im concerned, it prints photos just fine - the colors come out lovely on regular computer paper.

It constantly loses itself and is inconsistently available. Called Canon and their solution was to wipe my main computer because the software wouldnt reinstall. Was forced to manually add driver. Switched over to different computer (Mac this time) and it setup and worked... then would proceed to lose itself from network. The computer just loses itself from time to time for no reason. Very frustrated with my purchase.
