Ive always preferred Laser Printers over inkjets and up until now weve only had a black ink laser printer & a color ink jet. I was thrilled to get this color laser printer & so far it doesnt disappoint. It has a nice print quality and is easy to use. My husband, whos a very non-techie kind of guy, ended up setting this up with no problems at all - usually I do all the set ups & troubleshooting. Right out of the box it was easy for him to set up. The instructions were clear for setting up the actual physical printer itself (installing ink cartridges, attaching to ethernet etc) and both his mac computer and my PC "found it" and set it up automatically, without any need to download drivers or install cd. Its easy to print to this from our computers and I found its even easy for me to print to it from my Samsung Note 9 phone (all via my wifi network). My only negative is that the paper tray is pretty small. It does not hold a full ream of paper like my black only laser printer. Id say it holds maybe 1/3 - 1/2 a ream. We dont really use the other features other than maybe doing a copy here and there, so I cant really speak to the other features that this printer offers.

I don’t see any improvement over last year’s model. I find this one fairly irritating. Issues: 1- I have it set up wirelessly on a network with 3 computers. One day all three will show up on the selection list when I go to scan something, the next day only one will show. Odd since I can usually still print to it with the other 2. Unfortunately, if it’s doesn’t show up on the selection list then you can’t scan to it, so I have to reset it all the time. 2- Another issue is scanning in black and white is very poor. If you scan a form for example, and half the form is blanks that were completed by hand, when you scan in black and white it will pick up the printed sections perfectly, but the hand written portions will be almost invisible. This is odd since if you switch to color scans it gets the whole document perfectly. On something as basic as scanning, the default setting should allow for perfect scans without jumping through hoops. I still haven’t had time to go through the downloaded manual to find the issue. 3- My last issue is with label printing. You can load as many sheets as you like, and print as many sheets as you would, but after it prints each page you have to get up, go to the printer and press the display to tell it you’ve loaded another sheet. It won’t detect more pages loaded. Very much a pain in the neck. Again, maybe it’s a default setting, and I haven’t had time to look for a solution, but I’ve had tons of printers and none of them had these types of add defaults.

Using this in a small, home-office setup on a wifi network. It prints fast from computers and my iPad with high quality. No issues with setup (which is very quick on macOS because of the built-in drivers) and its a relatively small footprint. I have it sitting on top of a file cabinet with no problem.
