I had the previous QL700 to print shipping labels on eBay, decided to upgrade to this one. This one can print with higher resolution. When printing in higher resolution, it prints slower, but the fonts look much better.

I own 2 OL700s and a couple of other Brother label printers and am exceptionally happy with all of them,. I bought this one because of the red color. I dont know how it will hold up over time (label) but the printer is great.

I Love it! Needed a quick, easy way to print labels for mailing my books to customers. The QL-800 is just the ticket. I use the Editor Lite software thats installed on the printer, so all I have to do is turn on the printer, click on the app, type in the name and address, push a button, and out zips a perfect die-cut label, ready to peel off the backing and stick to the package. There was zero setup, other than taking it out of the box, the print quality is excellent, and this baby is FAST! I couldnt be happier with it.

I pack and sell beef jerky locally and this makes my packages look so pro. The printer has the Lite print software build in like a USB but I found more options with the online PTouch editor 5.2 version. I can print super tiny 4pt font, import any fonts online, pictures and screen shots. SUPER great buy for small business.

With very minimal use, the cord would disconnect causing this to not work at all. It shipped 5 months ago, so contacted this amazon seller I purchased it from. I wanted to make sure I receive the correct replacement. They directed me to Brother. After literally over an hour, between 4 people, and having to buy the $10 cord myself, I would say go with another amazon company (they should have took care of this) and go with another Label company. Although the reps were as helpful as they could be, Brother is beyond inefficient in todays market - and what a waste of my time dealing with such an easy fix.

This printer works well and prints very nicely. However, it has its own software which I have found to be a pain to work with and try to make labels with. This software is not user-friendly. I still have not been able to figure out what it can do. So, just be aware that the program has issues; otherwise, the hardware is good.

Called brother 5x to get assistance setting the paper settings up on a mac. Ended up just giving up after a couple of hours and returned the item.

I was a little worried about the compatibility with Mac OS after reading some reviews here, and I was very happy seeing the printer appear in the printers panel. It works very well. Would I recommend this printer? definitely!
