First page when the printer is cold always has toner marks all over the background and is unusable. Unless you are constantly using it and keeping it warm, expect to waste a lot of paper reprinting. We tried three Brother printers, two different models and every one was the same, brand new out of the box. I am sure they are trying to be really fast with that first page (so inadequate warm up?) but it is no use being fast if I then have to throw the page away. To cut a long story very short, calling Brother support was painful and ultimately useless. They were bureaucratic, not particularly interested in the problem, and were not willing to replace the machine AND toner assembly: one or the other but not both is what they offered - it was presumably up to me to guess where the problem lay. Since Brother was unwilling to help, I returned the machine to Amazon for a refund.

Here was my setup procedure: Take it out of the box. Remove the tape and packing pads. Load paper. Plug it in. Tap in the WiFi password on the little touch screen. Done! All of my Apple stuff, including laptops, phone, iPads, see it as a printer. Printing works great. Super easy, and the only wire is the power cable. I love it. It is also fast and quiet. It warms up quickly and blasts out pages when it gets going, and then it is silently on standby.

Very pleased with the print quality and speed of the HL-L6300dw. I print a lot of PDFs that have a mix of diagrams, images, and text for school work and business. Every page Ive printed so far looks great. The text is crisp and dark and the shading seem better than my other printers (an HP LaserJet MFP m425 and a color laser from Lexmark X548). The brother driver is very good. It allows for configuration of the print resolution, toner saving features, and a "quiet mode" that I found to be very effective. The default setting can produce 48 ppm, but the printer was louder than I like so I enabled "quiet mode" and am able to get a reliable 22 - 24 ppm on a mix of text and graphics. I was able to confirm that the printer can indeed print at 1200 x 1200 which is effective for very fine detail and gray shading but it does require higher quality paper. I mostly use 600x600, with toner saver, and quiet mode enabled and could not be happier with the every day output. I should also note that some other reviews mentioned spots at the top of pages when cold and my very first 2 pages did have 3 faint spots near the top, but no pages since have exhibited this problem.

I must say brother printers functions much better than xerox or hp. Love this printer...super fast and handles the paper trays very well.

The Brother HL-L6300DW is extraordinary; that is, the model is best of class by a wide margin. I cannot think of a single criticism. Fine product Id recommend to anyone.

Great printer. Fast, and so far jam free. Check the settings; you can make it slower and quieter or faster and noisier depending on your needs.

I use it for personal use, very good. zero flaws. amazingly a lot better than HP... best printer i owned so far. so far had it for 4 years and no jam, no toner replacement, about 2000 prints in! best in the business printer. the problem is for most people they use cheap paper and store printer in cold area.... use good paper and store in room temperature area!

Noisier but faster than previous HP monochrome laser jet. Very easy to set up. Three complaints. The manual instructions for the mechanical parts are not clear. For example, not easy to identify name parts for printing envelopes (paper stopper?) or their orientation (does the envelope feeder tray extender part really stay bent up at an odd angle?) The second complaint is generic. Limited capacity of envelope input trays. Why would an office need a printer that only prints 10 envelopes at a time? Third complaint: -Since there are separate input trays for envelopes, special paper, and regular paper - please set up printers so envelopes stay loaded and drivers let you chose between envelope trays and trays with other paper media instead of batching or loading and unloading input trays,. Despite all social media, email an other online communication options, sometimes folks just need to print envelopes. Get over it, brother, HP, epson.

Super smooth, fast. Ill just say that this device has wonderful app, easy to use. Do not need to print from the app every time. Set up app on iOS or OS Mac Sierra once, and every time thereafter can print with two clicks from any document, webpage, photo, etc. Winner!
