I already have a Laser Printer HL-5470DW that is a work horse. The laser fuser went out on it after 2.5 years of major printing. I decided to invest in the MFC-L5700DW laser printer..it is not quite the work horse that the other one is. Has all the other features scan, copy, fax, etc. It paper jams frequently where the 5470 rarely jammed. The dual trays are not compatible with each other so they have to be bought separately. Toner is expensive on both, the the newest one is even more so expensive, wish I would have just replaced on the old one the laser fuser which runs around 150. Or just found that model for sale somewhere.

The print quality is top notch! The set up went well using wireless, but I did have to reset my router before the settings took effect, this was probably something on my end. Scanning copying are great! I will say that scanning multiple pages leaves some of the scanned pdfs a little off center, there may be a way to calibrate it, for my purposes it have not been a big deal. Highly recommended for a small business or having to work from home like me.

This unit is amazing. I had it out of the box, and connected to my network (and printing) in under an hour. I then printed from 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, and scanned in a document in another 30 minutes. I cant believe how seamless this went. Kudos to Brother for an extremely easy install.

Easy setup (but a very heavy box to carry upstairs). Once firmware was updated it works perfectly. Good for our shared office. Fast, hold lots of paper, easy to scan and copy too.

Love this printer. Real workhorse with all modern features. Great prints & fast operation. We use the document feeder a lot, and this one has a really good robust design. Have been methodically replacing my HP printers with these, and have been very satisfied except for one thing. When this printer starts up it draws a lot of power, and if plugged into a heavily loaded or overstretched circuit, will cause brownout conditions for other devices on that circuit. This is true for all laser printers, but more so for this Brother. I have a couple locations with very old and/or questionable wiring that were using other printers, and now that they have these, they frequently have things reset or turn off when they print something. For most of my locations this is not an issue.

Well updated unit compared to the previous generation Brother MFC that discontinued Dec 2015. One issue I have it the number keys although sleekly hidden when lit up is a little inaccurate or not sure if pressed. Need haptic feedback like the mobile phones. Also, wish it has the super yield toner capacity and 500 pg paper tray.

I always buy Brother printers - the one that this printer replaced worked for 4 years pretty heavy work load. Just gave up last week. This printer was easy to set up - was printing and scanning right away. My only issue so far - it is louder than the old one. The first time it started printing, it scared me. Not sure why it is so loud.

This all in one printer works well, until I moved it to my new condo. Than the printed pages started getting like a parchment look, little blotches of ink on them. It still works well, especially like the scanner. This may be that the cartridge got shook up during move. Hope a new cartridge works better

Our small business used this printer and it held its own for a while. It is a solid machine that does everything well, but is pretty expensive. After roughly a year (and after the warranty had conveniently expired), every page that came out of the printer was wrinkled. Some pages were worse than others, but all had some sort of wrinkle. Brothers response was that since it was out of warranty, we would have to take it to an authorized Brother repair shop and the closest was several town away. So instead of traveling with the printer and having to pay to get it fixed, we bought a new HP printer and are happier with that
