I am not one to write reviews on products until i have had the time and opportunity to give the product a proper trial. We have owned this printer for 6 months, it is used on a regular basis but not daily. It is used for business purposes. The printer has never been one to stay connected to the wireless network, we do have the latest in tech for wireless broadcasting at 100 MBPS. I have spent a couple hours with Brothers tech support to no avail. Pros: When it does print it is clear and precise, fax works well and scanner is good. Cons: Hard on ink, we purchase the OEM ink by brother, it never gives the number of pages indicated by the product (1500). Rarely use the color ink, mostly black ink is used. But if one of the color cartridges runs out it will not print even though the black cartridge will be full. Purchasing any printer today in the market of a throw away society is a gamble. To do over I would not purchase this product. PS we do have and use another Brother printer that works as it should and it is two years old,

Ok printer. Slow to copy and print. Worst issue. If one of the colors runs out you will be unable to copy or print even if you only want to copy black. See notes from Brother:This machine has a mechanism that also uses the 4 colors to copy/print black and white. Maridania: You are able to print black and white even having the "replace ink" message if you have not open the ink cover. Maridania: If you already opened and closed the ink cover you will need to replace the magenta ink to continue copying/printing. Choose a different product!

After a morning spent measuring my printer space and scanning 5-star reviews on various sites...I chose this printer and hoped that it wouldnt disappoint upon delivery. I got my printer a day early and immediately set it up! It fit right into the tight space of my office desk like a champ..Whoohoo! Now...to set up. Did this really just happen? I literally plugged it in and had it set up in 15 minutes. All I had to do was click..next a few times and BAM I was printing. I did a test print and before I could even turn my office chair around to see how it did...the printer spit out the page like nobodys business. It is SUPER fast. I havent tried the other features yet but I am sure it wont disappoint. Now, I am off to conquer the world and show who is the boss with this new fabulous piece of office equipment.

The printer works fine, but it tends to knock already printed pages on the floor, especially when printing duplex. If you print a document of, say, 5 pages, the printer prints the first page and sets it on the tray. When the second page is finished printing, the printer kicks it to the tray with enough force that it frequently knocks the first page to the floor. While this doesnt make the printer completely useless, it is awfully annoying to have to stand at the printer and watch each page print..

I wont diatribe about all the ills surrounding inkjet printers in general, slow, jammed jets, expensive ink refills etc; In contrast, this printer is FAST, and seems to be able to handle sitting for long periods of time without the inkjets becoming jammed. When I say fast, you can print from a mobil device in another room, and the finished job is waiting for you when you walk into the room where the printer is. And, that is after sitting for several weeks without use, which also means the network connection is stable. To be fair, I am only using Brother ink, so I cannot say if other generic inks will work as well. Others have analyzed the per copy cost, which seems reasonable. For me, all I know is this, when it is late at night and your child is trying to print that last minute homework assignment, IT JUST WORKS!

Despite some negative reviews and comments to my question, the printer works just fine. For home use it prints quite quickly, the color was pretty in most prints. The only problem I have are the installation instructions which were incomplete. Installing the Wifi was easy and accomplished without issue, but connecting USB and phone cables took a while to find. Installing USB drivers was never found. I also like that the manufacturer answers or attempts to answer posed questions on Amazon. But they still need to improve the completeness of their installation instructions.

I purchased this printer based on the product description that it could automatically duplex 11x17 paper. I have since found out that is not the case. Anyone who is looking for a printer that can do 11x17 paper, but requires automatic duplexing, this is not the printer for you. Other than that, the printer is adequate.

This printer has proven to be a real letdown. I bought it to replace my old Brother printer which looks almost exactly the same and was about the same price. First, I am an artist and with my former printer was able to shrink and expand images to many sizes. This clicks in at about two different sizes and its neither of them are good for my work. Second, it seems to very frequently go into a state or error or go choose a different printer for the default and I have to adjust it frequently. Just not up to the Brother quality that I expect

The local print shops were charging an ungodly price for 11x17 printing. After a swift calculation of how much I needed to print, I discovered that buying this Brother ink jet printer & a ream of paper would be $150 less than the print run I needed. We didnt have a color printer that could also be a good photo printer so now its serving that purpose as well. Sure, you can find better printers but this ones a champ when money matters + good print quality.

Poor print quality, no local office store carry supplies in store, printer starting jamming paper within a day of usage, 11 x 17 paper only feeds one at a time.
