This is exactly what I was expecting for everyday monitor use: a fair bit of traditional computing with some non-FPS intensive game play. Adjustments are relatively easy once you figure out that the buttons are on the back of the monitor on the right side. Some other review claims about an unstable monitor stand are in my opinion meritless - I use this on a height adjustable table, and I dont notice any excessive movement; the monitor is perfectly stable. The included cables worked just fine at 4K, both mini-DP and HDMI (you probably dont need to buy separate cables). My monitor is placed about 30-36 inches away from my eyes. There are no dead pixels (either all ON or all OFF) as best I can tell. The down-sides, which dont merit losing a star include: * it is not an HDR monitor, but then again it never claimed to be. * as shipped mine didnt included a manual of any sort - I had to go to Viewsonics site. It should have shipped with a manual instead of an extremely uninformative Startup Guide. An annoyance, but not significant. * it is not extensively adjustable for extremely high color fidelity as best I can tell, but I could be wrong as I dont really care that much about super-duper photo editing. There are no claims by Viewsonic that this monitor is designed for that kind of usage (color space coverage, HDR), so it cant be dinged for a usage for which it is not designed for or claims made for. * Many applications are obviously not designed in terms of fonts sizes and scaling for a high density or large display surface, and Windows 10, although it does have some adjustments, is quirky. With a large higher PPI monitor be prepared to spend time tuning scaling, fonts, etc to suit your usage. This is NOT a monitor flaw, so it cant be dinged for this. In short, this is a great large everyday monitor. If you have a large enough and deep enough workspace, and have the $$$, consider buying this monitor.

I went back and forth between a 5-star and a 4-star on this monitor, even while writing the review. Im going with 5-star for now, given that Ive used it now for several months and in basically every respect I really like it. The two drawbacks are some fairly minor ghosting, and the not-stellar OSD. The ghosting that others note is indeed real, though I dont think its very pronounced. It manifests with seeing the outlines of application borders show through other apps very slightly if you switch one over another. It quickly fades to invisible. It also seems to be less obvious or nonexistent in the lower-performance modes than if you amp up the mode to a very bright gaming mode, for instance. I use the monitor for browsing, text manipulation, image work and occasional movies, and for these applications the ghosting is easy to forget. I have also noticed that the graphics card itself and possibly the cable, contribute to the ghosting or lack thereof. It seems more obvious with low-quality laptop graphics drivers. Im not sure how that really could be, but it is predictable and consistent, given that every day I use this monitor with at least two, sometimes three, computers. The on-screen display works fine, but its not very intuitive to use. The manufacturer went out of their way to make a tiny bezel (which I love) and thus they hide the buttons around one side, on the back, which is inconvenient. Im not sure what better alternative there is, except having them in a similar position but closer to the middle of the screen. Given the size of the monitor, reaching for the buttons puts your face fairly close to the screen. This may be an issue for some people, not for others. Ignoring those issues, the monitor is gorgeous. The bezel is about 1cm on three sides, and maybe 2cm on the bottom. Mine arrived with zero dead pixels. Default brightness is great for my needs, and the color is spot-on. I used a professional graphics monitor for years, and had struggled with it because of un-correctable red channel issues, so its a relief to have this monitor with great, clean color. White whites, black blacks, and accurate RGB rendering. Being able to adjust the black point independently of contrast is excellent. At first I hesitated with getting a monitor of this size. Silly me. I had previous used two 24" monitors turned 90° situated side-by-side, but that became annoying both due to the extra-large "center" bezel, the difference in color rendering, and also the inability to get every OS upgrade and video driver upgrade to recognize both monitors and use them at full resolution. Those issues are all eliminated by this monitor, and Im quite pleased with the extra screen real estate. Performance is fine for me. I suspect the response time would not be satisfactory for serious gamers, but I have no issues with it. The power consumption is also far lower than one of my older monitors, which is great for avoiding issues with heating up the room in summer.

This is a review for the ViewSonic VX4380-4K 43" 4K IPS 2160p Frameless LED Monitor. Ive had this monitor for about six months and have been very happy with it. I wanted a bright 4K monitor to update my (Linux-based) home theater, without any Smart. Sitting 5-8 feet from it (I wouldnt want to be much closer given its size), I can use it as a computer monitor for browsing the web (plenty clear), as well as video. This monitor has incredible brightness if desired, and the blacks are pretty reasonably black as well. Detail is excellent, colors extremely VIBRANT! Of the IPS Ive seen, this is comparable. Its like a big smartphone screen, major eye-candy. Good viewing angles. Makes my 24 inch monitor look tiny and dim. It has a semi-glossy surface, so when viewing a dark or black screen, light sources will reflect if behind you, and you can see your reflection somewhat, in a soft diffused, anti-glare sort of way, as opposed to a full-on gloss reflection. I can always see detail so its minimally distracting, and this gives the screen more pop in terms of color and brightness, imo. I was shopping for more of a matte but Im quite happy with this - I see why they used the finish they did. But its glossier than the TV it replaced. I use it in a bright sunlit room with little light behind me, and it is plenty bright. I actually had to turn it down. I use a dark theme, and it does well with that too. Build quality seems good, is lightweight, and doesnt generate much heat. Well-packed, easy setup, plenty of cables. I did experience some signal drops, as noted in my uses below, but that was with a 50 foot copper HDMI cable, so not so surprising (the computer driving it is in another room). See below for possible workaround (fiber optic HDMI is a thing). PROS + BIG, BRIGHT, COLOR-WONDERFUL, 4K + Lots of inputs + Also looks good and clear at 1080p + Good OSD, accessible buttons + Low heat and lower radiation feel in front of it than a typical TV CONS - Occasional signal drop with 50 foot cable (1080p 60 Hz HDMI 1.0) - No 3.5 mm audio in, but does have 3.5 mm audio out UNTESTED * Sound inputs/outputs, speakers * USB hub * DisplayPort HOW IVE USED IT ---------------------------------------------- 1080p 60 Hz HDMI 1.0 [50 foot copper HDMI 1.0 cable] Im in the process of upgrading, so Ive mostly been running it at 1080p on my old ATI video card. Initially it looked slightly unclear at 1080p so I made some OSD adjustments and then was very happy with it (changed these from default): View Mode: Standard Blue Light Filter: 50 (was 0) not a huge change noticeable Color Adjust: Brightness: 60 (was 100) Manual Image Adjust: Sharpness: 100 (was 50) Setup: ECO Mode: Optimize (was Standard) dims backlight I put it in ECO mode Optimize because it lowered the brightness. I also made xrandr shortcuts in Linux so I can lower the brightness with a key in the evenings. Mostly it has been working great in 1080p, aside from dropping its signal approximately once a day. It just goes black for about one second, then comes right back. My cable is an above-average 50 foot HDMI 1.0 cable running at 1080p 60 Hz. ---------------------------------------------- 2160p (4K) 30,60 Hz HDMI 2.0 [50 foot copper HDMI 2.0 cable] Testing my new ASUS laptop with a GTX 1060 to drive this monitor, I bought a new 50 foot copper HDMI 2.0 cable that was rated at 4K @ 60 Hz. However, this combination did not work - it produced a black screen, or sparkles, or if I moved the cable just so, it would show the screen but with major unusable flicker and image movement. However, this cable did work okay if I lowered the output to 2160p 30 Hz, no noticeable flicker or issues. This problem is apparently common with 30+ foot HDMI cables at 2160p @ 60 Hz, so I have ordered a fiber optic 50 foot HDMI cable to replace it. These are supposed to have low signal loss so it should be more reliable than copper at this length (and much thinner). I will update this review, or if I forget then you can assume it worked without issues. [Update: It works fine 4K@60Hz with optical HDMI.] ---------------------------------------------- 2160p (4K) 60 Hz HDMI 2.0 [6 foot copper HDMI 1.0 cable] Even though the cable is an older pre-4K one, 2160p @ 60 Hz looked great over this cable, very sharp 4K results. Overall I found the above cable issues understandable and I dont blame the monitor, but I didnt test it much with shorter cables. 5 stars - recommended as a great option in this size and 4K, image quality.

I use it at work as my primary monitor along with two Samsung 32" (S32D850T) rotated in Portrait mode. The three monitors give me the perfect amount of screen pixels to work effectively & fit perfectly on my 6 foot desk. I spend my day doing software development, so I havent tried any 4K videos or anything. Chrome doesnt like the color profile on Windows 10, so I switched back to default color profile.

Not much of a technical review here. I have it hooked to a Mac Mini (2018) via HDMI and it works beautifully. Video and images are crisp. No ghosting. Color reproduction is as accurate as Ive seen before. Speakers are small and dont sound great though I didnt expect them to. Speakers are perfect for system sounds and listening to the occasional youtube video or news. Price is certainly reasonable for a monitor of this size IMHO.

ViewSonic 43" 4K IPS Monitor / MacPro2013 OK, have received my new monitor, and, I love it. It IS large and exactly what I needed. Using it w my MacPro2013 and all is good. In setting it up, nowhere did I find out that in the area where the power cord inserts, there is a toggle switch to power the unit ON, which I think is the safety switch. It comes on and off based on input from my Macpro per usual fashion. Colors are fantastic. Will eventually purchase a calibrator and set up my monitor, Epson v700 scanner, and Epson 3880 Printer in sync and based on the same profile and print photos like they should be printed. Have had this a week and so far, cannot state anything negative. Will update this IF that occurs or any significant change. Photos are, of course, for overall view, not definitive picture quality. Still clearing desk after installing as due to retinal detachment I am about 20% slower than usual. Sorry for the messiness. Desktop image is from a photographer in the UK. I cannot take credit for it. :)

Its been a few weeks now and this monitor has met all my needs. I wanted to get my face further from the screen without losing quality or readability. This has accomplished my goals. I sit at a computer many hours a day working and playing. Its been great for games (FPS, high framerates) and great for text, reading, browsing etc. I spend a lot of time at a command line interface so readability on the screen is important to me. The menus are very intuitive (despite a few other reviewers opinions) and it seems like the options I access the most (swapping inputs, modes) have super intuitive shortcuts. If i had one half compliant its that the screen finish is only like half-matte and reflects a bit. Not an issue for me but if you will have a window or permanent light source behind you I could see this being an issue. For the price and feature set, I am very happy. It comes with a high speed HDMI capable of 4k but its sort of short, so if your input source is further away grab another cable.

Superb computer display monitor. Well featured, quality HD video, well made, easily installed, and simple to use. The price for the performance is very good. At forty-three (43) inches diagonal it brings my computer operational display into nearly the realm of interactive. I like it a lot!

This is a fantastic, I mean fantastic buy. I couldnt believe the price. I purchased the 32 inch monitor since my son needed a second screen for his twitch account. Gave me an excuse to get a bigger monitor. Im not a gamer, Im an author and I am getting on in years, so the larger screen makes it easier on the eyes. The curved screen is a delight over the flat and the picture is perfect. This is a well made product. The base is made of metal and, yes, you can adjust the viewing angle. There are multiple settings to choose from for color temperature and I have not witnessed any bleed around the edges. The screen felt high at first, but as I have grown used to the size, it sits perfectly in front of me. There is a lot of landscape with a 32 and I do have to move my head to focus in on areas of the screen that I hadnt normally. It doesnt bother me, because now I read the fine print without have to make any adjustments to the zoom. The 32 is perfect for youtube and movies and they play cleanly. My wife, kids, family and friends that see this monster all say the same thing. "Wow!" I agree. This screen is a wow. I For my needs, I found the perfect match. This is a great product from ViewSonic and I highly, highly recommend it if you are going to step into the large screen arena.
