DO NOT BUY Purchased this monitor at the end of August. Not even two months later my monitor is already displaying stuck pixels. I’ve tried every fix and reached out to ASUS customer support numerous times. They told me since my monitor didn’t display the required amount of stuck/dead pixels, they would not be able to offer a fix/rma/replacement (regardless of the 3 year warranty). A two thousand dollar monitor that is less than two months old shouldn’t display signs of ANY stuck pixels. Please steer clear of this monitor. Don’t make the same mistake I made.

Let me tell you - picture quality and gaming qualities are superb - couldnt ask for more. HDR experience is eye-opening. It would be the perfect monitor and i would not mind every cent i spent on it - but the elephant in the room is the fan noise. Its whining sound is so audible when you are working on it without the headphones! And the absolutely worst part is that it does not stop even when you turn damn thing off! It whines 24/7 so it is no way i can put it anywhere but my living room. I thought there should be some kind of setting to turn it off or some kind of temperature sensor that manages the fan - but no! The only way to stop fan from running is to disconnect the power cord. Come on! I did such a great job with cable management and now i have to plug my display off to get rid of the noise? Well, i guess i will have to buy some sort of smart outlet so i can finally manage that thing without crawling behind the desk.

The monitor is great, but I had originally thought it was defective because I couldnt get it to go to the full refresh rate. I didnt really believe it, but after buying several mDP to DP cables that didnt work, I found one that actually let me get to 144Hz. It still loses sync occasionally, just randomly, and Im not sure if this is a fault of the cable or my laptops display port socket, but 4k at 144Hz is a lot of data to move and its very sensitive about the quality of the connection. Just something to be aware of, YMMV. If youre getting a black screen above 60Hz, try a new DP cable.

Perfect! Pretty much the best word to describe it. Blacks are so deep. Colors pop. Whites are as white can get. Just make sure and get a cat 6 or 7 DP cable. Dont go cheap there. This thing deserves the best. Im 46 yrs old with old eyes kicking in, and this monitor gave my eyes new life. I debated between this one and the Acer version and just trusted the Asus name(Im sure there both great). $2000 is a ton of cash, no doubt, but remember this monitor is basically future proof.

I was concerned that a 4ms monitor IPS monitor would make me play worse than my 1ms TN monitor, but I personally dont notice a difference. Ive tested this with Destiny 2, CS:GO, Overwatch, and Rainbow Six Siege. This truly is a top of the line monitor, and Im always struck with awe with how well the picture looks with 4K HDR. Jumping from 24inches to 27 inches is like stepping into another world. It runs really well with my RTX 2080 @ 1440p and 4k If you dont want to run 4k resolution, games will still look good @ 2560x1440 resolution on this monitor. I guess my only gripe comes from the well known "IPS glow" when a screen is pitch black. Google it to see what I mean. But in all honesty, its not that big of a deal or noticeable when youre playing games with dark areas. If you have the money, this is definitely worth it. Im going to be keeping this for a very long time.

I’m using this monitor for two months. No issues with dead pixels or loud fan like some reviews said. If you have Far Cry 5 game you can enjoy HDR picture. With overclocked monitor to 144 Mhz and 4K settings a picture looks amazing. Even with 30 FPS I don’t see any slowdowns. Check your monitor serial number. After certain digit in serial number you don’t have to upgrade firmware to get nice picture when you overclock to 144 Mhz. Check ASUS site for this info. Also please put "Display port deep sleep" and "HDMI deep sleep" settings to "ON" otherwise a fan in the monitor will constantly spin even if you turn monitor OFF.

PSA - Virtually EVERY other retail store selling this item provides a code for Call of Duty Black Ops 4. Not Amazon. So just be aware that you can get a FREE game if you buy it from Best Buy, Newegg, BH Photo, etc... Sidenote - the monitor is amazing and awesome as a $2000 monitor should be.

After trying out several high end gaming monitors and having countless QC issues, I decided to bite the bullet and spring for the PG27UQ. Im very glad I did. This monitor is fantastic. Colors are rich and bright. The HDR mode is incredible on games that have well done HDR (Sekiro looks stunning on this monitor in HDR). Text looks crisp and clear in 4k. Gysnc works well and makes games look super smooth. The blacks are very good for an IPS monitor and are almost as good as another high end VA monitor I tried (and returned). The monitors interface is great and easy to navigate. There are a lot of options to enable, including a blue light filter to help with eye strain. The monitor frame and stand is great quality and the built-in LED lights look really cool. The antiglare coating is applied well and isnt intrusive. and it doesnt create a dirty screen effect like some other monitors have. There is absolutely no backlight bleed and IPS glow is minimal. I have not noticed any dead or dim pixels. The local dimming feature does create a halo effect around text and objects in black scenes, but it isnt very noticeable in games and it can be disabled. The monitor has a built in fan, and I havent had an issue with excessive fan noise. There are some very minor annoyances with the monitor, though. The overclock mode will bring the refresh rate up to 144hz, but only with chroma subsampling. You can get 8 bit color depth at 120hz, but 10 bit is only available at 98hz. The 98hz cap is for all resolutions, so if you think you can play 10-bit HDR at 1440p and 144hz, you will be disappointed. The monitor doesnt support display scaling (that I could figure out at least).

If you rotate the monitor they will crack the insides. We think from minor thumb pressure or twisted of the rotation. These have manufacturing defects. Tried to send two of the four purchased which cracked inside for warranty and they claim physical damage. When we shipped them only part of the screen was not working, however, asus support sends back a much more physically damaging picture. Claims shipping must has exasperated the physical damage on two items. I believe the tech pushed them in to make it like a rock hit a windshield however the outer protection glass layer is perfect. They offer to repair them for exactly the same price as a new one can be purchased for. They do not stand behind obvious problems. Do not buy ASUS monitors especially this expensive one. It will not last. I should have listened to the pixel reviews and moved along. Suckered me for 4 of them of which 2 failed under normal use. Ive never been more upset with a manufacturer than ASUS support who tries to tell you that something hit them or unexplained physical damage which is not warranty. Good luck if you ignore this and buy them. Seller is awesome, just the product has defects and doesnt hold up to normal use.
