Its a really nice monitor and it works for what I need. But, it seams overpriced for what you get. Cheap black plastic, lacking many ports. The cable organizer/holder doesnt work very well. Bsically, if you dont think you need or want the stand functionality, look at a different monitor.

overall im pretty happy with this, except theres an issue with the HDMI input where the contrast and brightness resets to some crazy value everytime the monitor goes to sleep. luckily switching to the mini-displayport input fixed it and i didnt end up having to return this.

The product is good. But Samsung Customer Service is totally in a mess.

I like the idea here - its a good gesture to help optimize desk space, especially when a user (like me) uses a laptop to plug into the external monitor. My complaints have to do with execution. Ill get into all that first, then talk about the monitor itself. The idea of having an arm clamp onto the side of the desk is a good one. This design, alas, assumes a few things in terms of that desk. For example, it assumes there is enough clearance on the desk edge to accommodate a largish clamp. On many desks the knee skirt extends out enough to where there isnt enough space for the clamp to fit. Main thing is youll need about four inches minimum for that clamp. Placement is also limited owing to the design of the support arm...it does NOT swivel. Therefore the monitor MUST be placed at the opposite side of the desk where you sit. So if you are using a corner desk...forget it. QA could also use some enhancement....my monitor did not come with instructions or hardware. Assembling this thing is pretty intuitive but it requires four screws to attach the support arm to the monitor, screws that were not included in the box for me. I had spare machine screws that I was able to use, but still. Lastly, placing the thing on the desk is very awkward. The entire assembly is heavy (on the monitor end) and the support arm near the clamp is spring loaded at an articulation joint. However, that articulation will not bend without the weight of the monitor over it. This is all to say that when you get to installing this onto your desk, if you have a hutch or overhang your job is about 30 times harder than it should be, because that joint will stay aligned with the rest of the support arm and you will need headspace to install the assembly at a 90 degree angle to the desk. That all said....I like the monitor itself. It is a good quality screen with faithful color reproduction and great resolution. I do wish it had USB-C inputs, but with HDMI it works well enough for a home office monitor. Frankly, its a good monitor absent the, I hate to say, gimmick of the support arm. A decent product that is hampered by a QA fail and a design that isnt as versatile as it could be.
