I bought this for 2 specific reasons. I needed exactly this size or smaller to fit into an old computer hutch, and to work with an older basic refurbished system I bought for simple internet access. This is $79! Im not sure why anyone would expect a $79 monitor to work for gaming or a newer model computer. Its not built for the speed or power possible with newer computers or games. For basic internet browsing, Youtube, FaceBook, emails, its perfect. Downsides - ONLY has a VGA plug. Thats not a downside if you are using it with an older computer, because thats all older computers have with onboard graphics and not a video card. - does not come with a power plug. I have a dozen laying around, so that was NP. It DOES come with a VGA cable, which is convenient, since few people have VGA cables laying around anymore. The resolution is perfect for my purposes. Higher resolutions make the screen smaller, but I dont think they add anything to the look, and in some cases, will even make your screen blurry if you are using older software. Not a problem with this. With an older and simpler system, this monitor doesnt skip a beat. I bought it to go with a refurbished HP computer, and could not be more pleased with the combo. An entire spare desktop for less than $300! You CAN game, just not fast FPS modern or online games, but if you are playing FB games or minecraft or those types, its plenty. Youtube videos work fine on it, and you can watch movies as well. I think its a GREAT deal for $79, and I would definitely buy it again. Hope that helps.

This is a nice small monitor. Its for the business and we didnt need something that took a lot of counter space. There was one little feature I had to research before it worked right. When I plugged it in I set the H-Position to 100 and that still didnt center the screen. After researching the problem I found that I had to press and hold the Splendid button for about 4-5 seconds. The immediately fixed the problem. For the money its a good monitor. Im looking at another old monitor and realizing how dark and dingy the other monitor is now. Ill probably replace that monitor with another one of these.

This monitor does exactly what I needed it to, but not much else. I originally purchased this as a basic monitor for my new gaming PC. It works well for basics but doesnt handle graphics and contrast well (which is ok since I planned to use my TV as my main monitor anyway.) Pros: 1. Inexpensive (main reason I purchased) 2. Very simple and basic operation Cons: 1. Only input for standard serial monitor input 2. Picture is oddly colored in multiple settings 3. Picture tends to grain out and have horizontal lines depending on what Im playing. (I know this is the monitor and not the video card because I also see the picture on my TV which looks AMAZING.)

I purchased this as a certified reconditioned I time. At first it had a big line down it and I called support, they walked me through the usual stuff and then told me I had to return it for a refund because they couldn’t replace it. However, I went and purchased a new cord for it and it worked just fine.

This works really well to monitor our security cameras. To run a feed to our office monitors was going to be difficult. Adding this monitor to our cameras DVR location was convenient as it wall mountable. Most of the inexpensive small monitors were desktop only.

Id recommend this product to anyone wishing a moderate sized, adequate display. The colors are vivid and bright; and the monitor auto-adjusts for you - or, at least it did for me; I did not have to manually enter any settings - it auto-adjusted to the native resolution of my video card, aspect ratio and screen size. You may have to use the Control Panel applet, ClearType, to adjust the display of alphanumeric text - other than that, it is "set and forget"; and highly commendable.

I bought this monitor to hook to my security camera DVR system. The attached photo is from the item discription which says HDMI as well as has an SD card next to the HDMI. The monitor has neither and is only able to connect with a VGA cabel. Looking at the manual is says the model # VS 197D/VS198D is only VGA. Looking at the picture i attached, it says no such thing.

Our old ASUS monitor, bought used 4 years ago, wore like iron, but we finally had to give up when the color faded to almost white. This monitors colors are vivid, bright, and very clear. One person wrote that the printing (text) was too hard to read, but we have had no problems with it. This monitor is wider than our old one and has one inch less height. That was the only thing we had to "get used to", but other than that it has been great and I would recommend it highly.
