I LOVE this Chromebook. I am a computer expert and have set up thousands of computers for people professionally and privately over the years and I love my very expensive Windows laptops that I do my Photoshop and video editing on. I bought this as a gift for someone and decided to buy one for myself as well. Oh my god this thing is designed so brilliantly, so easy to set up, so easy to navigate, so easy to configure, so easy to figure out, so user friendly. Chromebooks are excellent for everyday stuff, web surfing, YouTube, Facebook, etc. Ive used my Chromebook exclusively for several days now and havent missed anything on my Windows laptop. I was afraid a Chromebook was going to feel more like a tablet, but it works and feels like a traditional laptop. Some things I love about this over traditional laptops, is #1, this is a real LAP-top, meaning, I can put it in my lap without blocking the fan or vents and causing it to overheat like Windows machines. I can set it on my bed without having to put a hard surface underneath it to keep the air vents open. This doesnt overheat. I plugged my peripherals in and they worked instantly, my wireless mouse, my external drives, my printer. I havent tested the wireless printing yet but it looks easy enough to set up. The battery charges quickly and lasts forever compared to my Windows machines. I love that just signing in with my Google account, all my bookmarks, passwords and everything loads instantly exactly how I like it. The touchpad also is really great, the gestures are very easy to learn and intuitive, and I usually avoid using a touchpad but have found this very easy. 1 finger as a mouse, 2-finger to scroll up or down, 2-finger sideways does page forward or page back, and I set up a 3-finger tap to duplicate the middle scroll wheel button on a traditional mouse. I also love how easy and quickly it is to reset this machine if something goes wrong etc. Reformatting a hard-drive on a Windows machine is always an undertaking, loading the software, re-configuring everything, loading the hundreds and hundreds of Windows updates, Ive done that literally a million times, and with the Chromebook, just to do the Powerwash in the Settings and have it returned to the factory settings like it was new, so easy. Sign back and and boom everything is there. Chrome keeps itself up-to-date in the background. Ive done a Powerwash a few times just to test it out, love it. This is now my everyday laptop, I will still pull out my super-duper-expensive Windows laptop when I need to do Photoshop, but this is perfect for everything else. I love this price point for an everyday machine like this.

If I had to sum up my impression in this chromebook in one word it would be CHEEP. The keyboard keys feel numb when pressed and the touchpad clanks nosily when you give it direction. The predominately plastic construction makes for a bendy/cheesy feel. For comparison I own a stack of laptops (many HP) and this one has the lowest quality feel out of all of them. The ASUS chromebook I got my wife for school is a much more solid unit for less money. To be fair, performance is decent and battery life is good. The screen is not good resolution, the viewing angle is narrow, and found a few dead pixels as well. This chromebook is well below what I have come to expect from HP. The unit will be returned.

My first Chromebook. I like how light it is and the fast start up. Just have to master Google sheets, drive, etc

A good value. The performance depends on your WiFi since chrome books are web based. Looks great and a solid unit.

Seems to be a good Chromebook for the money, gets a ton of spammy Chrome windows out of the box, Im sure its an easy uninstall of bloatware but pretty annoying.
