I had same problem as the review below!!! Machine installed Windows updates, fan became super noisy and machine became extremely hot. Glad it didnt cause a fire! On top of that Amazon delivery person threw it behind my bushes?? OVERHEATS - Bad Processor for this tiny form factor. ByAmazon Customeron May 2, 2017 Capacity: 8GB RAM + 128GB Solid State Drive (6Gb/s) I ordered 2 of these. I opened the first and booted it up, ran the updates, and began configuration. The unit quickly began to heat up very fast and very hot. I thought maybe it was a fluke and defective, so I tried the 2nd and it happened again. I am attributing it to the AMD Processor. I have been buying these Lenovo Thinkcentre Tiny units with Intel processors and have never had this issue. I do not recommend the AMD processor

I purchased a Lenovo form OEMGENUINE with the upgraded 500SD hard drive primarily due to the 3 year warranty. The 500SD drive shortly died. I called Lenovo and they checked the model # and serial # and said they did not install the hard drive so the 3 year warranty was not valid. OEMGENUINE has a generic web site and you cant get anyone on the phone. I emailed them the model # and serial #s as requested and then could never get a response from them. I tried several times. I had to pay to get it replaced elsewhere. Check their site prior to purchasing to see the quality of service you will receive if there is a problem that should be covered by a warranty.

I have a few of these for my businesses. Super compact but powerful. I will add a few more for my back office. They dont take up a lot of room and are reliable.

I bought the Lenovo ThinkCentre M715q in late December 2018 and it was delivered in January 2019. I bought this unit mainly because of the form factor; any pc these days will provide the performance and specs of the M715q, but the small size was just what I wanted. What I did not expect ---as I was initially loading programs--- was for the system to have a general shutdown requiring everything to be reloaded...os, programs, license keys...thats a lot of trouble. But I did it and the system seemed to have no ill effects, so I carried on and used the system until yesterday (March 16, 2019). In the middle of a routine copy procedure from my iPhone to the Lenovo, the system stopped in its tracks. I let it sit for 15 minutes until it was quite clear that the system had hung on something, somewhere and I turned the machine off. A few minutes later I turned the machine back on, but it would it not boot. Instead, it gave me an error 1962: no operating system found. It looked like the same problem I had had back in January. I Googled the error code and found plenty of people advising me to change the BIOS to correct the problem, which I did but with no success. I contacted Amazon and they contacted Lenovo and I am working through diagnostics and support with them now. Yes, the system is under warranty and yes, Lenovo will send me a new SSD if we deem that to be the source of the problem. The Lenovo diagnostics take about 5 hours to run, so be prepared for that if youre in a similar situation. Mainly, I have two problems with this unit. First, there is almost no way to determine where the problem really lies. It could be the SSD, or it could be a bad SSD controller, or it could be bad firmware on the motherboard or something else entirely. Regardless, long term, this is not a good situation because playing hit and miss with the repair of a pc means that the problem may very well reoccur. Second, I have been using, building and selling PCs since the XT and 10mb hard drives. In forty years, I can easily count on one hand the number of PC failures that resulted in completely scuttled storage. Yeah, magnetic hard drives failed, but not very often and generally the content of the drive was recoverable. A magnetic drive (even the early 10mb varieties) had the ability to mark bad sectors and continue working. Apparently SSD does not have this basic feature. In my case, the PC has failed twice in the past 90 days and the storage device was unrecoverable in both cases. The second failure is far more devastating because Ive had 90 days to load programs, apply license codes, add data, etc. Reloading all of this once again is going to be a major pain in the rear. So having said what Ive said, would I give the Lenovo ThinkCentre M715q high marks? No. Its a fast machine and I like it a lot...when it works. However, do I have enough confidence in it to chance a 3rd failure? I dont know. I am hoping that Amazon (or Lenovo) will step up to the plate and replace the entire unit, but Im not holding my breath. Ill let you know how this turns out...

I used CPU-Z to verify the CPU, It actually AMD A12-9800E, not Ryzen 5 2400GE. dont buy it, it is cheating!!!!!

We have a four of these (with ranging disk sizes). Three of which have been in use and on 24/7 for six plus months with no issues. No noise or moving parts, lower energy usage than our other desktops. Fast enough for office use and multitasking with multiple screens (2) and multiple browser windows and tabs (5+) open at once. Even that dang Windows 10 update login screen is fast! Very pleased with this product and we are planning to transition all of our desktops over to this model.

I purchased this device to replace my docked Thinkpad T61 which functioned as my TV, and I have been pleasantly surprised with my purchase. I was on the fence between this, and HPs EliteDesk 705 G3 Mini Desktop , but the M715Q M715 beats them by about 100$ at the sacrifice of USB 3.1. The details of the internals of the system, and what it had connection ports in the back. My device has 3 Display ports, no HDMI port so make sure you get an adapter, and no 2.5" drive, but a M.2 128gb. I had planned to add an M.2 drive, but this simplifies things greatly for me. I love that it has dull green LEDs that do not light up the room at night, making it a lovely addition to my bedroom. I erased Windows 10 after doing a UEFI update and installed Ubuntu 16.04. In short: Dont. You can install AMDGPU-PRO and the HWE install, but you will be forced to install the Realtek RTL8821AE by hand. I suggest using a Client or Media Bridge with this devices Ethernet instead, as it is stable. In addition to it preforming as my television, I also had the task of it playing games and transcoding video via OBS and Handbrake. To provide a benchmark, I decided to use Phoronix Test Suite. In which I ran Unigene Heaven and Passmark under the UEFIs quite mode setting. While it is no 3d gaming rig (you can see it benched with common games if you search A12-9800E GPU benchmark),In Heaven, which is a rather intensive OpenGL 4.0 benchmark, I got on adverage 7FPS, with a peak of 12FPS, which is expected and the Radeon R7 still outpreforms Intels integrated graphics in this regard, which is much better for a system in this form factor. Comparing it to a gen 1 Thinkpad Yoga S1, which has a i7 and a HD 4000, the ThinkCentre ran twice as fast. Turning off ICE, the UEFI setting that controls fan noise, and removing any throttling, I was able to determine there was no sigificant thrermal throttling occuring durring Heavens tests. Durring this test, the system showed how noisy its fan could get if unlimited, making about 70db in white noise. In Passmark the system received a score of 2863. In Zigurat, on high, the system was able to get a nearly constant 30 fps on low at my native resolution of 1860x1050, and 15fps on highest. In Shadow Warrior (2013), the system was able to maintain 25fps at my native resolution on medium and was very playable, and the machine remained completely silent. I was unable to get Dota 2 to run under 17.04 due to library incompatabilties. For those concerned, it comes with both a wired mouse and keyboard. I use mechanical keyboards exclusively, and while I find the keyboard undesirable, its membrane feel was far better than any Logitech membrane keyboard I have used, and is decently quiet. The mouse is thin and clean, but I opted for wireless for my set up for this device. Despite all my troubles, I have been pleased with its performance, and I would recommend this hardware pairing, even if you were using Windows 10. I had no problem within it while I had it installed, and it had minimal bloat-ware. Pros: - Great price for the hardware, beating out competitors and DIY solutions. - AM4 APU - Power efficient! Only uses in power saving mode 18w average. It can get up to 65w when playing games. - M.2 - Small form factor - Quiet - All USB 3.0 ports - Bluetooth 4.0 - Keyboard and Mouse Cons: - Realtek RTL8821AE (hopefully with time this will no longer be a con) - No HDMI - No USB 3.1 Notes: I have not thoroughly tested the bluetooth, but I was able to pair with my laptop under Ubuntu 17.04.

Exactly what I needed. Plenty of memory and speed for what I use. Boots up quickly and works as advertised. I would recommend for the average household use.

Mostly Working great, with issues like the 3rd monitor will not work and the warranty was activated 6 months before I got the unit. It is small and fast, and all the rest of the features are great, as long as you update the drivers and firmware from Lenovo regularly.
