- Graphics performance: Plays Elder Scrolls Online on "medium" flawlessly, and will run it on "ultra" with some choppiness in highly populated zones such as PVP, but overall I am super impressed at the performance for the value of this PC. - Almost no bloatware, unless you count McAfee (I do lol) - Runs very quiet! UPDATE: during longer play sessions, the fan does rev up briefly and sounds like a vacuum cleaner running in the other room. It wasnt that obtrusive and wasnt loud enough to be picked up over the headset mic. - Super upgradable. The case opens with a latch, no tedious little screws to contend with. It pops like the hood of a car, and the power supply swings right out of your way. Awesome for when you desire to upgrade a part or two later on. - Please note: this requires an HDMI cable to connect to your monitor, not the standard and now somewhat dated blue VGA. Youll notice in your "people who buy this also buy..." list a lot of monitors and HDMIs, haha. Dell computers Ive owned over the years last a long time and dont give me any grief. If you dont want to build your own rig yet, or maybe youre looking for a PC for casual gaming and solid multitasking for the kids, this is a great option.

This computer is so quiet that were it not for the indicator light, I wouldnt know its on. Ive only had it a few days and will update if anything changes but to this point Im delighted. It isnt loaded with bloatware so the only initial adjustments I made were to get Windows 10 to shut up and leave me alone once the updates were done. It handled the major update smoothly and quickly. Im using the machine primarily for photo editing so I cant speak to its gaming capabilities. It handles Photoshop and other products with ease. I upgraded from an i3 so just about anything would be a major improvement but this has exceeded my expectations for speed. Its fast enough that I dont miss the SSD drive that comes with the more expensive version of the machine. Ive ordered an additional 16 gigs of memory which should further expedite the memory-intensive processes and ensure that it can keep up with the ever-increasing demands of the software. The additional memory and a wireless keyboard and mouse to replace the cheapie wired versions that come with the machine are the only modifications Ive made. Along with being quiet, the machine isnt throwing off much heat. I have to put my hand just a few inches from the grills to feel any. Given that I live on a subtropical island, this is a very good thing. Again, Im not a gamer so I dont know how that would affect the noise and heat levels but for my purposes theyre both great. It comes in a plain black mid-tower case, suitable for stodgy older folk like me. No see-through panels, no multi-color lights, no Klingon-looking design features, just a nice solid machine that does what its told and does it well. It has a wealth of USB ports including three on the front panel, one of which I used for the keyboard and mouse receiver, along with four USB 3.x ports and a few others on the back panel. I use external drives for photos, music and videos, in order to keep the primary drive from getting cluttered and slow, and I use a graphics tablet and pen, so all those ports are useful. Fast, quiet, capable and unobtrusive. Works for me.

Had a First Generation I7 computer running Blue Iris software with 4 cameras. This older computer constantly ran at 80-90% CPU utilization and was loud and hot. Figured it was time for a replacement so I started browsing the XPS 8930 desktops with an 8th Gen I7 processor. Ordered it and it arrived in 2 days - got it all set up fairly quickly and what a difference! This 6 core beast runs my Blue Iris camera system at about 8-9% utilization. Love it. Great service and prices from Techno Intelligence. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077JDVBR3/ref=cfb_at_prodpg

I am waiting to hear back from the seller which I contact via email over the weekend. This computer came in a box that had obviously been opened multiple times. It even had an old Costco sticker on the side. The computer took several mnutes to boot, and crashed, as in froze unresponsive, several times. I contact tech support at Dell and they told me that my computer was old, 2017 model, and was not new, and that my warranty is almost out!! I had just unboxed it. I immediately contact Amazon and I am returning this immediately. I feel that this computer was being sold as new but has actually been returned by another customer and then resold. I also benchmarked it and it came back as very slow and graphics card percentile was 10% maki g it only possible for basic graphics. The internet download speed was 24mp/s - my laptop right next to it was pull in ng 49mp/s. My first and last Dell, or feeling with this seller, depending on how they explain this.

My son is a PC genius. He knows it all when it comes to computers, software, and what are the most reliable brands. Hes not a big fan of box computers like Dell and HP, but if he had to buy one he suggested this Tower XPS. His biggest gripe when he helped me get it all together was that the hard drive takes up a lot of storage and slows down the speed. He feels that was a big downfall, but it can be replaced later on with a different SATA card. Yes, thats Dells way of getting a couple hundred dollars more out of you. But, my personal big complaint is having to deal with Microsoft every step of the way when setting the system up. Additionally, it did not have drivers for my HP printer, so I ended up having to swap my printer with my husbands. Also, my other big complaint is not having this unit arrive with a word program. Whats with that? Just another way for them to basically force you into buying Home Office. Ugh! So as for cost, this unit was NOT cost effective. As for functioning, it is amazingly smooth and fast (and thats with the hard drive). This unit runs circles around my older HP (that finally crashed and burned). It is so darn quiet, too! Just love that beneficial perk. Oh, another gripe is it only accepts an HDMI hookup to the monitor and not VGA. Ugh! Had to order a new monitor, too. It seemed this unit nickel and dimed me to death, but the quality is amazing. If I had it to do over again, I would still buy this Dell, but I would spend a little more time looking into a unit with more conveniences and less basics, as once you buy all the additional goodies that it should have come with you end up spending an additional $500 despite the great sale price. I look at it as a foundation that provides the bare necessities, and thats about it. But it is quiet and fast!

I received it quickly. Got a Samsung EVO970 NVME M.2 SSD, the addition of it was pretty straightforward. Making it work with the BIOS was another issue. I cloned the system disk using Macrium Reflect and tried to find a way to boot from the NVME M.2 SSD. First you need to change the RAID BIOS configuration. By mistake I format DISK 0 (HDD) partition and the PC booted from the SSD. Sometimes you need to be lucky when clueless:-) The addition of older disks was pretty straightforward with the old SATA 3 disks. Overall a great deal when adding a SSD disk.

A solid machine. Lots of room to grow with you as you go. Super easy to get in the chassis and tinker around (if so inclined). I got the 16gb version and it runs everything I need with ease. Nothing stays cutting edge for long, so it is nice to have a tower that is designed to be upgraded when you see fit. The topside fan gets a bit loud once it has been on awhile, but honestly it didnt become an issue until it had remained on for some time. Some basic power settings can serve to alleviate that concern. I would recommend this PC to others.

Works great now, but the first thing I tried to do is download chrome and I could not get anywhere, so I checked the internet speed and it was only around .92mbs, the other devices in the house seemed to be working fine off the wifi though. I had a friend come check it out and after messing with the router for awhile, he found some people online that said this did not have great wifi reception and an adapter is needed, so thats what we did. Another 40 bucks but its working good now. If you buy this and cant get any speed, buy the adapter. Other than that, the computer is pretty good. Seems like it can handle editing 4k drone footage well in resolve so far.
