Dell XPS 8930-7764- Intel Core i7-8700 UPDATE: I gave this 5 stars previously -UNTIL- I called for service because the BIOS BOOT ORDER kept changing. -I WAS TOLD- at that time that *my WARRANTY is VOID*. WHY? Because I changed the -BIOS BOOT ORDER-! I asked several times to REPEAT what was said, just to make sure. If you buy this PC -be aware- that you WARRANTY will be voided for making a simple CONFIGURATION CHANGE! My suggestion is AVOID THIS PC ** CONS: No VGA connection: Only if you require a VGA Monitor. No PS2 connections: Only if you have that type mouse or keyboard that will not convert to USB. -What I- would like: SSD as the installed drive.

I bought this computer on sale from another vendor three days ago for $50 less and with an extra 8GB of memory and an upgraded graphics card. At the sale price it was a great deal. Just a few minor gripes. First, the hard drive is a Seagate st1000dm010-2ep102 which only has a 2yr warranty and has been reported to have a short lifespan by some hard drive reviewers. An equivalent Western Digital Black Box Drive with a 5yr warranty costs only about $30 more. I got a Black Box drive to use as my second data drive, but now plan to switch it in as my system drive and use the original Seagate as my data drive. Next, the second drive mounts upside in its Dell chassis bracket. This ought not to be a problem, but the neatness freak in me is not real happy about dust collecting on the drives exposed electronics side. And finally, theres the plethora of usual garbage and bloatware pre-installed and some of it can apparently only be uninstalled with Powershell commands. Its not hard to do and the necessary commands can easily be found online. Other than that its an excellent and responsive computer that I look forward to using for a number of years.
