This is clearly a computer for hobbyists that want a good platform to add hardware to in order to create a good, fast computer to suit their purpose. For me - running Word, Excel, simple photo software, and accessing my Dropbox files to edit in Word - I was shocked at how it bogged down. Frankly, the reason I buy expensive items from Amazon is returnability, and this one goes back today!

Horrible build quality. The built-in WiFi went out after less than an hour, now it connects but wont stay connected more than 7 seconds at a time. The slot covers on the back of the case werent punched completely, they were still partially connected to the rear of the chassis. Rhe are supposed to be held in place by a flip cover that has retaining screws, but the screws were missing and the cover was stuck and wouldnt rotate to give access anyway. I had to pry it open to remove the slot covers, which had to be punched out - see above - just to install a video card. Which, BTW, is the only card that can be installed because it is the only slot that lines up with the case openings, because the motherboard doesnt match the case design. 15 years ago Acer made decent value-line laptops. Based on this unit, and some comments Ive read from those with similar experiences, I cant recommend Acer for anyone. You might luck up and get one that works, but you are equally likely to just get trash. Update: The slot covers arent. They are just punch-outs, there arent any true slot covers. So, if you remove one to install a card, then remove the card, there is nothing to put back to cover that slot.

First off Amazon has great customer service. One week old and this new Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi5O Desktop died. Black screen popped up out of nowhere with this text on the screen: "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected device and press any key". When I attempt a reboot all I can get is the same screen. Very dissapointing to say the least. I am not happy.

Bought this computer about 2 months ago. I used it very little mostly for email. A few days ago it decided to crash and not reboot. I tried all the available options and still the computer would not boot. I had a friend of mine look at it who has 3 degrees in computer design programming and software and his answer was well this is a piece of junk After talking to the acer clowns online they said mail the computer back to them at my own expense and they will decide if it qualifies as a lemon or defective. I have dealt with this before and they will do anything to weasel out of actually admitting they sold me a faulty computer. As far as Im concerned acer is a bunch of criminals ripping people off with no culpability whatsoever. Shame on them. Dont ever buy an acer, ever.

I recently received my Acer TC-885 Li50 and really looked forward to setting up an updated new computer. But I cant open it up. My login did not pass muster, and after submitting 3 different passwords that didnt pass I was told that they would send a code. Finally a new code arrived at Microsoft but when I posted it I was told it wasnt correct. More attempts as requested by the log in were incorrect. I give up. An email to me by Microsoft said my address was changed but whoever is cancelling my postings didnt get the word. For Amazon I will request a return of this computer. If I cant open it I cant use it. I am not rating the Acer, how could I?

Just returned this to the UPS store. The sound card on my old Acer Aspire AM3900-U3042 gaming computer died and this model is no longer manufactured, so I decided to buy this newer Acer TC-885-ACCFLi5O. Wrong decision. I mistakenly thought it would be powerful enough to stream video but it isnt. Freezing and stalling. No thanks.

When I was first trying to set up the Acer PC brand new out of the box, I had downloaded and installed the Chrome browser. However, the Acer Aspire TC-885 would not run the Chrome browser. I had also purchased the Asurion protection plan. When I called Asurion for assistance I was put on hold several times and then finally was connected with a representative who gave me another number to call for tech support. When I called the number given to me by Asurion, I was told that I could not get tech support unless I bought a service contract. Of course, the PC was brand new right out of the box. I then called Acer tech support and was told to reset the PC. After reset, the PC screen was black, and I could do nothing. They are sending me a CD with Win10. The Tech support person did what they could but told me that it might take up to 7 days to get the CD with Win10 at my home. What is the difference between Win 10 factory installed and the Win10 CD Acer is sending me? (rhetorical question) This one is going back.

First off, a good computer. An i5-8400 handles very well against last generation’s i7-7700 for example. But this literally cannot be upgradable to a good gpu. Why? Because there is a big, massive disk bay in the way that makes it impossible to disconnect the psu from the motherboard. It’s a 300 watt psu btw. Any card above maybe a 1050ti or requires psu power is not gonna be an option. You’d have to saw the disk bay to replace the psu. A warning to all gamers, build your own or if you want an upgradable pc, stay away.

no point in trying to make a tool like a PC elegant and sleek - put the ports in front where I can easily access them!

This product was mediocre at best. When I first purchased it I was aware of my restriction because of my budget but I have experienced more glitches when using this computer than most other computers iv used. One day I bumped the tower ever so slightly and the whole unit shut off. When it started rebooting it showed me a very negative warning about how the machine was shut down incorrectly. So I began investigating and come to find out the power plug in the back of the tower is making a bad connection. Im just really easy with the unit now as to not cause any more issues. I would send back but I dont have the time it would take to return it because I have homework due weekly. I will live with it for now and hopefully, I can still return it between classes.
