I really like this ACER ASPIRE C24-865-ACi5NT ALL-IN-ONE DESKTOP PC. It’s my first all-in-one PC, and I love the small footprint, single power cable, and easy, easy setup. It’s a true plug-and-play machine that takes about 10 minutes to unbox, assemble, and start up. The first boot takes a while, as Win10 Home makes itself presentable, and you need to get a big Win10 update when you first check for system updates, but it’s a terrific machine for home users who aren’t gamers. (Gamers need powerful, superfast machines with specialized graphics cards.) This PC is plenty fast for ordinary home users--it boots quickly, and loads files quickly. KEYBOARD AND MOUSE. I don’t understand the other reviewers’ dislike of the Acer keyboard and mouse. These work off a dongle (a small radio receiver that you plug into a USB 2.0 port at the back of the monitor) when the mouse is turned on. The dongle is stored inside the mouse’s battery compartment. Both keyboard and mouse are sensitive, and I actually like the feel of the keyboard better than the feel of a very nice Verbatim quiet-key keyboard (with mouse) that I own that also works from a radio dongle. The keyboard does have square, flat keys that aren’t at all elegant-looking. However, if you’re used to typing on an iPad’s virtual keyboard or on a laptop, you won’t mind the flat keys. The dongle eliminates two cables (one for the keyboard, one for the mouse), so you can move both mouse and keyboard off your desk if you aren’t using the PC. DISPLAY: Not being an expert on technical display specs, all I can say is that the display has accurate color and excellent high-definition images. The size of the display (23.8”) is perfect for a PC that lives on your desk (where you’re always sitting close to it). Also, the edge-to-edge display makes this look like an expensive monitor! OPERATING SYSTEM, CAMERA, JACKS AND PORTS: Windows 10 Home is powerful enough, and full-featured enough, for my general home use. I use this PC for checking mail, connecting to the Internet, playing a few simple games (e.g., Microsoft Solitaire), occasionally meeting with people via Skype, keeping financial records, and composing a few letters. The system comes with free online Microsoft Word, and with a 1-month free trial of Microsoft Office 365 ($99 a year if you keep it). Wireless is built in. My PC had no difficulty connecting to my home network--connections are handled by the Win10 operating system. Stereo sound is built in, and sounds good to my non-audiophile ears. The webcam is kind of pathetic, with very poor picture quality. However, people are recognizable, and you can easily replace the webcam with a better one. The webcam isn’t built-in, but attaches magnetically to the monitor and plugs into a USB port in back. On the back of the monitor, the PC has an SD card reader, an audio jack (for headphones, and I think microphone too), a Kensington lock, an ethernet port, a PS2 port, a VGA port, an HDMI/DP port, and four USB ports (two 2.0 ports, with one being used by the dongle; and two 3.0 ports, with one being used by the webcam). If four USB ports aren’t enough for you, you can easily use one or more of the USB ports to add USB-port hubs. STORAGE: The hard drive (inside the monitor) has a 1 terabyte capacity, which will store tons of photos and doc files. If you need more storage, you can add a USB storage drive. SUMMARY: This is an extremely well-thought-out general purpose PC. It’s a space-saver, and it’s extraordinarily easy to set up. The only hard thing is understanding that the keyboard and mouse work by radio, and locating the receiver dongle inside the mouse.

UPDATE: Installed a 500GB SSD and now this computer is very fast. Too bad Acer went with a cheap, slow HD as stock for this. If you plan on having a descent anti-virus or do much beyond basic computing, highly recommend upgrading to SSD hard drive. ORIGINAL: Had high hopes but the hard drive on this is really disappointing. Basic antivirus slows it way down and makes it act like a 5 year old computer. I had to order an ssd hard drive to make this act like it should brand new. I have built PCs for years and owned several brand name PCs too. This has been pretty disappointing after one week

First of all, the dongle for the mouse and keyboard is located inside the mouse. This is illustrated in the pamphlets that come with the computer. I feel like all the negative reviews said they had no dongle. This computer is great for the price. The chip is a newer quad-core chip that is great for everything as long as youre not trying to play modern graphics intense games. The computer is really just a monitor with very small bezels - it is light and compact. Startup seems to be a little slow, but after that the computer is really speedy even with the 5400rpm hard drive. And this thing is quiet! You would be very hard-pressed to even hear the fan or hard drive, even in a very quiet room. As someone else has stated, the keyboard and mouse are cheap but fine. The computer itself is so small that theres very little room for speakers, and as such, they sound terrible. They work but they do not get loud and there is no bass. I would describe them as worse than most laptop speakers. I love the size, the screen, and the performance of this computer. Its a great bargain all-in-one.

This is a great All in One PC! Ive only had it up and running a few days, but so far so good! It is very fast and has seriously cleaned up my desktop-no more cables and stuff above and under desk. It runs very quiet despite the fact that it doesnt have an SSD, and is an excellent option for word processing, spread sheets, email, web browsing, etc...obv if youre a serious gamer or video editor look elsewhere, but all in all a great machine! Would Recommend! Pros -Fast performance -Quiet -Visually appealing -Good Value Cons -built in speakers arent great (were you expecting them to be?) -Included Wireless keyboard and mouse arent great -not terrible though

I ordered this as it was a best buy on Amazon after the screen on my previous all-in-one (a Lenovo) died suddenly. Thats always a potential drawback of the all-in-ones. Set-up was easy and the camera is a USB attachment, nice for security since I never use the camera (meaning that it is still in the package, so no one can spy on me). Pros: Reasonably fast processor and display is great. The screen is matte finish so very little glare from the window by my desk, a nice change from the glossy screen on the old display. The bezel around the screen is small, so it makes the desktop seem bigger. Cons: The included keyboard and mouse arent that great. I used it for a day or two but switched it out for my old wireless keyboard and mouse (both Microsoft models). The keyboard was laptop style without separate page-up and down keys or a number pad. If it was a portable device I could understand, but this is a desktop model and should have a full keyboard. The mouse was also very basic and I missed having a separate back button. There are two USB 2 and two USB 3 slots, but all are on the back of the screen, which requires moving the computer to access. I finally ordered a USB 3.0 hub to put in front of the stand so I could have easier access to them.

They removed the cd drive, and the touch screen and filled it up with bloatware. The previous years versions is decades better than this one. Very bummed I cant get the old version anymore

This has been a great computer for us so far. The only thing reviewers didnt like was the slow/older hard drive. As soon as we got it I replaced the hard drive with a Samsung ssd 850 pro that we already had. The solid state drives are an easy upgrade and make a big difference in boot up time and how fast the computer runs. The hard drive was very easy to swap out. I found a you tube video with this same model computer that walks you through it. In our last all-in-one computer I had to pull the whole computer apart to get to the hard drive. With this one, everything is contained in the bottom part on the back where the stand screws in. It was much easier to pull apart. Our last computer also needed a conversion box to go from a standard hard drive to the smaller SSD one. On this computer I didnt need that. The standard hard drive is the same size as the SSD, so I could use all of the same hardware to hold it in. I was happy about that. I also really like that this has the 8th gen intel in it. I am sure there is already a 9th gen out there somewhere, but not in any computer even close to this price. Most of the computers in this price range have much older versions of the intel i5 chip. The 8th gen was actually a pretty good leap in performance from what I could find online. We also wanted this computer to last 7 or 8 years or more, so we wanted to have the latest right now so it doesnt get outdated too soon. The 12GB of RAM was also a great deal at this price and will help it last for a while. I am sure someday soon 12GB will be the bare minimum just to get a computer to start up. So right now, with an SSD (which really was easy to swap out), the latest intel i5, and 12GB of RAM, this thing is a fast little computer. Probably not ready for gaming because it doesnt have a dedicated graphics card, but thats not what we wanted it for. It has been great so far and we expect it to last a good while before it gets outdated.

I bought this device for my son. this all-in one which I do not consider it " all in one" , becuase it is missing the touch screen and CD drive. Processor is so slow and it is not 3.4 as they claim in the discription, it is 1.6. from pferformance point of view, it is less than normal for such expensive product. Resolution is HD which is ok if you are not using this PC for 4k movies. Start-up time is 150 seconds which is riducolous, considering it is 4th generation. This PC is literally very convenient for simple tasks such as web broswing and studying. The price is extremely high compared to other real All-in one. there are way better options in the market such as Laptops or other brands of All-in one with the same price.

Our only complaint is the directions are pretty sparse. The dongle for the mouse is stored inside the mouse battery compartment. We had a very frustrating day trying to locate it as it wasnt in any of the packaging and no word of it being in the mouse in the directions! After that, its been smooth sailing!

Picture quality is fine, but the sound is not good. There is no cd/dvd drive... wish I had known that before buying.
