Ive used this lens and the 16-35 2.8 G-master lens. This lens has slightly more noticeable distortion in the corners than the GM version. In terms of sharpness, the difference is noticeable only if you zoom in to the pixel level. The differences were small enough that I couldnt justify the extra money to buy the GM 2.8 version. Most of my use is Architectural & Landscape. Its a keeper.

This is my favorite lens in my landscape kit. The increase in build quality from the plastic FE lenses is obvious when you hold it in your hands. Theres no plastic on the exterior of the lens, the zoom and focus dials give a nice hint of resistance (but definitely not as much as my manual focus-only lenses) while feeling buttery smooth. It is a large piece of glass on the front, so it can be prone to flares when shooting in direct sunlight. Theres some barrel distortion, especially at the lower range of focal lengths, but Lightroom has a profile to correct it.

Im very happy with this lens. Its sharp and feels solid. I bought it for use on my two full-frame Sony A7r IIs. It also functions as an excellent, super-sharp 24mm-52.5mm on my Sony A6300 and A6500. I have to say that Sonys 24mm-70mm f/2.8 is so big and heavy on my a6300 and a6500 that this lens feels so much better on those cropped sensor cameras.

This lens is amazingly. I use ittogether with my A7R, and I love the results. Sharp, perfect colors, very wide angle. Since I have this lens, I use it for 80% of my pictures

I kept this lens on my camera throughout my week in Hawaii and I absolutely am glad that I bought it. Though its only an F4 throughout, the capabilities in lower light on my A7 made up for it. The color from the lens and the sharpness made it an absolute wonder on my vacation.
