This lens turned out to be better than I anticipated. I originally just wanted a lens that could zoom farther. Im new to photography, so I only had the basic lens that came with my camera (Canon Rebel T5i). However, this lens exceeded my expectations. I was extremely happy with my purchase. As you can see in the photos, there is a huge difference in the quality. The first one was taken with my original lens (18-55 mm) when it was all the way zoomed in, while the second and third were taken with this lens. Huge difference! The colors are brighter, it focuses better, and the larger aperture makes a noticeable difference. As I said before, Im new to photography so I wasnt really expecting much out of this lens. However, I think the average user would be very pleased with this, and for someone new to photography it would be a great investment to help them get started and gain confidence. ----- Photo 1: ISO 100, 55 mm, f/7.1, 1/100 Photo 2: ISO 200, 300 mm, f/7.1, 1/500 Photo 3: ISO 250, 130 mm, f/5.6 1/200

I’m a professional photographer with 11 years of experience so I was skeptical on buying this because of some of the reviews. I did the 2 day delivery and I got it on time . The quality is real nice , Images come out great, the lens feels solid . The only issue is that zooming is kinda noisy but you don’t notice it after a few days of using it. To be honest I would purchase another one in a heartbeat. This lens is a must buy

You can’t tell it’s refurbished! Came in a Canon box. Was perfect. Can’t wait to test it out! If you’re on the fence about buying a refurbished lense, take the chance. I’m not one to leave a review unless it’s a complaint. But I had to leave a review about this lense. *Update 03.30.18* I love it! It takes amazing pictures.

OK, realistic expectations. I bought this lens at Best Buy for $200. (I should have checked Amazon first). But, either way, $100 or $200, this is a great lens for the money. Oh, it only goes down to f/4.5, but so what. Using it a 300 mm, the compression is fantastic, and the background is blurred out so nicely. Pros: 1. 75-300 mm -- that is a fantastic range 2. very clear images, sharp and vibrant 3. beautiful bokeh Cons: 1. minimum focal distance is about 4.5 feet 2. the zoom is a bit stiff 3. the f-stop varies with the zoom 4. does not come with a lens hood (but you can get one for less than $10 from Neewer) I am using this lens on my Sony A7 II with a Fotodiox adapter, so I cant speak to the AF speed (AF through an adapter is always less than native performance). This is _not_ Canons best lens, but for the price, you just cant do better. I posted a pic of a copperhead I took with the lens -- Yes, it is nice to have a 300 mm lens when shooting a copperhead, no need to get too close.

I was skeptical at first, but the more I use this lens the more I like it the pictures are sharp and the lenses light weight.

As others have stated before me, this is a great buy for the casual photographer. Excellent quality, as you would expect from Canon. Smooth zooming. Easy to use. Auto focus function works well, producing sharp images. Highly recommend it.

Cool cheap lens. But that’s what it is. Don’t expect AF to work well on a modern camera. In MF on 75-125ish it shot slightly worse than my kit 15-45 EF-M. But that’s expected with the higher range. Too much noise however requires a lot of photoshop and resolution scale down to make good images.

This is a nice lense for producing great pictures. Ive used it to take pictures at a high school track meet and was very pleased with the pictures. Ive also used it to take some outdoor portraits and was very happy with the crisp subject and gently blurred background.

I recently purchased a Canon camera kit but it did not come with a telephoto zoom lens. I purchased this one and it does everything as advertised. Being new to the camera world, it will be perfect for me. The telephoto zoom brings everything up close and personal and it is so convenient when the subject is a little too far away for the other lens. This was a great purchase. Thank you.

I purcased thus Canon lens for my Wife at a price of $79... The motor is very quiet and smooth and the photos are sharp. It really is a no brainer at this price. If you do not have a 75-300mm zoom lens I would not hesitate.
