Im not an avid macro shooter but on occasion I do have need for a ring flash. While I was initially skeptical, after all its over $400 cheaper the Canon version, this flash turned out to be a gem. At full power in manual, the Guide Number for this flash is 25 (GN25). The only thing that I noticed is that I typically have to add between +3/4 and +1 flash power to get the correct exposure. Other than the need to add more output the TTL works like a charm. Oh Yea, the build is pretty solid. As far as the adapter rings go, they are the same as those used on Cokin Filter holders. I actually attached this to my Canon 70-200 f2.8/L using a cokin adapter and it worked great. If I didnt have to increase the output power to get the right exposure Id give this 5 stars.

Update. So after all, I had to “borrow” a lego piece from my son and modify it a little. Used crazy glue to stick it to the flash. It seems to work. The after pics taken two weeks after I glued it. Original review. Had it for 4 months and used it no more than 10 times. I am very careful with everything I touch, especially electronics, but the battery door broke on its own, without any impact or any force of any sort. Very poor design that makes this pretty nice ring lite flash turn into garbage. And it seems the company is not doing anything to make the situation better.
