Loved this product. Great price, and worked great on my Canon 5d MIII... for a while. After reading all of the reviews, the first thing I did upon receiving this in the mail was to immediately tape the battery door shut. I figured I wouldnt take a chance on it failing and I would help support it with the tape. It worked great for about 4 months and then, one day, the battery door just busted through the tape. Really really bad design. Unbelievable that they can design a flash that can sync with your canon camera and produce great macro pictures, but they cant figure out how to keep a battery door shut? Now I look like an idiot with a whole bunch of tape wrapped around it. Also, I got purchased a Canon 5d MIV, and for some reason this did not work on it. I thought the flash was broken, but put it back on my 5dM3 and it worked again. Take it off, put it back on the 5dM4 and it doesnt work.

For the price, this little ring flash does a great job with one caveat, the cheap plastic battery compartment. Im on my second Yongnuo ring flash and now my second broken battery compartment door. I baby my equipment so its nothing Ive done. The problem is the thin, cheap plastic catches that hold the door closed. When under pressure from the AA springs, its apparently just too much for the thin plastic door to handle. To purchase a third one would put me over $300 which puts me in used canon ring flash territory. I dont think its wise to keep throwing good money after bad equipment. No complaints with the TTL or anything else; works great but the battery door is a fatal flaw. Ive emailed Yongnuo twice so far with zero response.
