I got these flashes immediately after getting the X-Pro and several X1R modules and loving them. I had some Altura flashes before, but found that they were extremely non-linear (it jumped 2.2 stops between 1/128 and 1/64! And 1.5 stops between 1/64 and 1/32!) and wanted to replace them. I got these, and have done lots of testing with them. Firstly, they seem quite linear with their power (and, by linear, I mean appropriately exponential). From 1/128 to 1/1, I measured each stop and got 0.8, 1.4, 1.0, 1.0, 0.8, 1.2, and 0.7 stop differences between each of the settings. Theres a little variation here and there, but overall its quite consistent, and some of the deviations may be measurement error. Importantly, there we none of the 2.2 stop jumps that the Altura had. Secondly, I was getting 3s full-power recharges with NiMH batteries (or 6s with Energizers "Ultimate Lithium" AAs). This isnt great, but its not too bad given how powerful it is. Thirdly, it took a minute to figure out its mode structure and how to put it in the right RX mode to use my X-Pro to control it, but thats also because I didnt RTFM (read the manual). Once I got that working, it worked very reliably controlled from the X-Pro. One nice thing about having the RX built-in: when I put the power in manual mode on the X-Pro, I dont get the TTL double-flash on the flash (when using the X1R, it does the pre-flash EVEN WHEN the transmitter is in manual mode; this is probably just a design limitation of how the flash control protocol works through the hot-shoe). One issue I had is that it would go into a sleep mode after a while and could not be waken up remotely - you actually had to press a button on the flash to wake it up. I literally just did a google search while typing this review and found the menu option to change the sleep timeout (which was 10min; hold down the "zoom/fn" button in the middle and the first option is "SL: 10" which can be changed to 30, 60, or OFF). Knowing this solves probably the only complaint I had about this flash. Overall, its a well-priced powerful flash which can be on-camera or controlled via their X system OR a sync cable.

Good lights, but the recycle time is nutttssss. I have cheaper lights that are just as bright (if not brighter) and their recycle time is less than half what these are. I love that they have a high speed/ auto fp function, but I have to wait an entire 6 or 7 seconds in between shots and thats just not convenient for most applications. Mostly, its been embarrassing when on a paid shoot.

Been using this flash system for a few months now & so far I am very satisfied with its performance. Functions as well as branded flash units. Have been very consistent and not experienced any misfires. One thing to keep note of is this unit is slightly bigger compared to other strobes of the same kind. Also, the flash is a little on the cool side. However, you cant beat the price of the flash. Recommended.

Love these flashes! For the price they are amazing! No they are not TTL so you have to think and having a light meter would help, but in this day and age of digital you can chimp in the exposure to your liking. Yes they have a longer recycle time than higher priced branded flashes but they are perfect for the beginner and any one else who wants to play around with light.I have experienced no reliability problems so far. Took this self portrait with them cleaned and cloned in photoshop.

I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality, ease of use and battery life of these flashes. Manuals could have been better (for which I took one star away). But these flashes are very popular and you can find several great videos on youtube to learn how to use them in different situations. Wireless trigger is lightweight and compact. It is also easy to setup and since it does not need line of sight, you have much more freedom placing the flash units behind curtains, umbrellas etc. Overall this combo package was a please to use! I definitely recommend it.

An affective tool for wireless photography. I use it in both manual and TTL. Though it includes a manual, I could that online reviews on YouTube told me all I needed to know. I am using this with speedlights and studio strobes. I just works. I would definitely buy this again. I had previously used the yongnuo manual transceivers which also worked as described, but this unit allows direct control of flash output from a distance.

Im using these along with a couple of AD 360ii units. The recycle time, even at lower power, is not fast. Otherwise, they are reliable and function well. But it youre shooting in an environment where fast recharge times matter, I would pass on the TT600.

Bought these last week and tested them out. I have not had a chance to use them in an actual photo shoot yet, but they worked well in the test shoot. The instructions are ok, but need serious work describing how to configure everything. This is the first time I have used multiple flashes, and this brand. So I literally had to play around for an hour to get these to work with my Nikon. I finally stumbled on the solution, which should have been more clearly written in the instructions.

I love them so much. First set of flashes I ever purchased. A little bit hard to understand the instructions. But a quick look on YouTube got me started a lot faster than the instructions it. Their translation from Chinese writing to English translation is less desirable than most products Ive ever seen. I will be buying more from this company in the future. Cant get over the build quality. Love the display on the back of the flash easy to read from a slight distance required.

Awesome start to a beginners studio. Work very well, recycle time is fine, and they are super cheap. Solidly built, wireless controls work great, and are easy to use. If you’re trying to get your flash off your camera and want to start getting more specific with your lighting, buy these. My recommendation is to spend your bucks on the flash add ons- don’t get cheap diffusers/umbrellas/etc. and get really solid stands!
