The tv is perfect if you are going to just hve a regular cable box...but if you live in a place that has programming that is digital and doesnt require the box.. this is not the tv. The smart tv has this technology in it already so you dont have to buy additional pieces.. I spent anther 40.00 on top of the price of this tv... sO overall great picture with reg cable... This tv will not read digital channels even if it is cable... you will need to pay for the box or buy the converter separately....I feel that that is a big piece of info especially for people like myself who are not technically sound.. i wont bash them..great deal...but you get what you pay for..i could have paid the extra fro a brandnew tv that already have the correct technology and all the apps,,,

The TV shows a wonderful picture . I have a blue tooth to enhance the experience. The brand name was different but so far so good the quality is comparable.

We had the unit for over 2 years and is still in great working condition. With HDMI, you can wire it in with a spare notebook to watch video streams from Hulu, Netflix and youtube without any problems. Whatever you use it for will fully depend on ones simple needs. HDTv works well with current cable subscription we have (Directv), local channels included. Only gripe is the sound quality, but since my mother-in-laws have weak hearing-- she can have fun "looping the sound around to the back of the tube" to her hearts content (maximum volume) and still having difficulty hearing the dialogues of shows shes watching online. Im not a tv person but I can tell when the tv speakers are just about give out because of her settings. :D

OK TV but does not have a QAM tuner, If you have basic cable with no converter box it will not show digital channels. I took it back. You need to have a converter box to see digital channels. They should clearly show this.

Not a bad tv until about a year when it died. Ive had other tvs for 5-10 years without them going bad but this one was terrible. And of course it was right after the expiration of the full year protection service
