TCL 49D100 49-Inch 1080p LED TV (2017 Model)

Ill be honest, Im not up on all the latest technology, nor am I terribly picky about the number or pixels or whatever a TV has. But I will say that, for the average person on a modest budget, this is an excellent choice. Ive had the TV for just over a month, watched the Super Bowl, the Olympics, and shows and movies both new and old, and Ive been pleased with the quality of them all. One of my cats also now watches TV regularly, which she never did before, so I think that must speak to the clarity of the picture at least somewhat, right? The two drawbacks - a less than adequate speaker, and no headphone jack to plug in the speakers I used with my old TV. I bought an adapter which worked, but youre not able to control the volume via the TV remote while using the adapter. So, I will now have to get new speakers that come with a remote, or continue with the less than adequate sound.

This is a fine TV. Read the other reviews for particulars. If that annoying light at the bottom bothers you, go to Settings on the menu, scroll down to LED indicator light and select OFF. Youre welcome!

I was not expecting much from this TV, but I did have high hopes. I wanted a ~50" dumb TV that looked HD, didnt have muddy blacks, and was under $300; that is exactly what I got. I could not be happier with this TV. It is much clearer than I expected with both video and audio playback. I have paired this with my Fire TV and the Sideclick with no issues, as expected. It is also very thin and light, which is important for mounting such a large TV. My only complaint is that the power cord is a bit short, but it is generic and replaceable so Ill just buy a longer one. If you are thinking of getting this TV but are dissuaded like I was by the handful of negative reviews, just get this TV. Those people are either complaining about something that isnt the fault of the product, or complaining about something small and fixable if you just do some reading.

Ordered this for outside use, so I didnt want to pay much. I am pleasantly surprised by the picture quality and overall performance of this TV. Works almost as good as a TV 4X as expensive.

Solid TV, the picture is great for a 720p TV, sound is completely fine (though I generally don’t turn the TV up very loud).

Best tv. Ive had it since 2014, currently its 2018. It works amazing, I pair it with the Amazon Fire Stick, which alows me to have as many channels as I want as well as the essential Netflix. It is a little weak in its frame but thats why I mounted it to begin with besides the fact it looks modern and classy. Mounting it keeps it away from childrens hands and the possibility of toppling over. I recommend mounting it. Ive never had an issue in the 4 years Ive had it. The wifi and bluetooth operate at %100.

Great TV with great sound and visual quality. Of course, it wont be 4k resolution, but this is a solid choice for individuals who just want a reliable TV with clear visuals and sound. Im not a technology snob, but Id definitely complain about quality if Id had an issue. Good size for a college dorm. Easy setup and easy to connect HDMI. Fairly light and was able to carry on my own. Only complaint is that the feet are a little hard to attach to the bottom of the screen. I was afraid to screw the feet in too tight because I wouldnt be able to unscrew them when I had to re-box the device when I moved out of my dorm. As other reviewers have been saying, the light at the bottom of the screen to indicate on/off is a little obnoxious at night if its in your bedroom; however, its an easy fix just to tape over it with painters tape or something similar. Definitely dont lose the remote since there arent many buttons on the device itself.

For $300 delivered for a 49” tv - it’s great!!! If I was expecting to have amazing clarity, color, and sound I would have expected to pay much more. This replaces a 32” set in my bedroom that I was having trouble seeing the closed caption and smaller stuff in the picture. This solved the problem. It’s plenty clear enough and the color is fine. I’m not real picky - I just wanted a picture that had good clarity and color. This set is great- better than I’d hoped for. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks without any problems. It was delivered in very good shape and we were in the middle of a thunderstorm. So - my experience with this order has been great.

I bought this to put in our cafe for our customers. It is on the wall, and so is lightweight and a great size to be viewed from anywhere in our cafe. The picture is great, the volume is fine as we dont have it turned up that much. I couldnt have asked for much better and the price was great too. I would recommend this tv to anyone who wants a good size tv and under $300. Superb buy.

I dont have one complaint about this television its got great sound, picture and has all the bells and whistles a quality TV should have. It has a plethora of adjustments and presets within its very user friendly menu. This unit is simple to set up and I would highly recommend this television to anybody whos looking for a great TV at a great price!
