Its an okay tv for the price. Hard to get the contrast and saturation right. Either its too dark or too bright. Dull or too colorful. The speaker are surprisingly good. Could I done it again I wouldve preferred to go with the 4k model but it was out of stock when I ordered. Ill leave the picture settings I felt looked best below. Picture Mode: User Brightness: 55 Contrast: 40 Saturation: 60 Sharpness: 25 Color mode: Warm Backlight: 100 Dynamic Backlight: Off Advanced: Zoom Mode 16:9 3DNR Off

Perfectly adequate simple TV. Does exactly what I need. It does have buttons on it so you dont need to use a remote. They are found underneath the logo in the bottom front of the TV. Works just fine.

Works for my needs. I use it as a computer monitor in my office. It is locked at 60hz refresh rate, so it is not your elite enthusiast gaming monitor. I dont do a lot of gaming on it, so I dont have any concerns about screen lag. No signs of motion blurring in what I do use. 1920*1080 looks just fine with the work content (programming, editing) that I do in it. YouTube and Netflix (and yes, Amazon too) content work just fine on it. If you are look for a lower cost non-smart TV, then this is a good choice. I never use the tuner in it, so no idea how capable that part is. Note: there is a power light on the bottom of the screen bezel in the center. It is on only when the screen is powered off. When you turn on the TV, the light goes off so it doesnt distract from what you are watching. Some might call it theater mode style lighting.

My 8 year old Panasonic Plasma finally failed (stripe down the middle of the screen) and Im really not sold on the smart TVs or 4K yet. This TV is just the right size for me. Picture is not as good as my Plasma used to be, but for the price its very hard to beat. No quality issues with the screen that I can see. Note, for those planning to mount this TV, the holes on the back of the TV are really close together (relative to other TVs of this size that Ive worked with in the past). Also the TV does not come with screws for those holes, they were different from the screws which held my old TV mounted in place. I posted a question earlier regarding universal remote support. TCL has a site which offers a number of codes which should work for different universal remotes, just google "TCL remote codes" and it will pop right up. I had a hard time with the site but eventually did find a code that works for me (using a Onkyo remote controller that runs everything in my house), from what I could tell the support is good. Now that Im all set up I hope the TV lasts me a few years.

This pretty much fulfilled all the conditions I had for buying a new TV. The picture is great and price is too. The receiver seems able to work with the antenna signal better than the previous (10 year old) TV. Not "smart" either - I dont need my appliances surfing the net. Its only the sound. The TVs own speaker is pretty average to poor and so something had to be done. The company clearly made the decision that this TV and its larger siblings would be attached to a sound system and so did not include a headphone jack, but rather RCA jacks (those red-white pairs). For our purposes this was an unfortunate choice and we had go through a few shenanigans until we found a satisfactory solution (a Taotronics Soundbar). Not crazy about an extra remote, but OK. The TV is easy to use and (re)configure.

I bought this TV roughly a month ago, and I mainly use it as a computer monitor so that I could play video games from my couch. When Im up at the keyboard and mouse on the desk, Im roughly 3 feet away, and when Im on the couch, Im about 8-9 feet away from the screen. Its quite honestly an amazing setup. Even when Im up close the picture is clear and crisp, and I havent gotten any headaches from feeling like Im too close. I think its a little small to be great at 8-9 feet away, you lose some detail but not enough for it to be a deal breaker. If there was a 43" version of this, I would probably swap it out. Text is nice and crisp, and I have no problems reading any text on the screen although some colors are wonky together (pink and black in particular for some reason). Ive played a variety of video games using this as a monitor, mainly Skyrim, Wolfenstein the New Order, Metro 2033, Crysis 1 and 2, from the PC and Kingdom Hearts and Bloodborne using the PS4 and I have no complaints. While this is a refresh rate lower than most monitors, I havent noticed any amount of "ghosting" or any reduced capability of gameplay. If youre a competitive gamer, I would not suggest this, but if youre looking for something that can fit a casual gaming lifestyle, this is a good, cost-effective option. I currently have only 2 issues with this product: 1) The color is a pain in the ass to get to where you want it. It took days of fiddling with the controls, trying different things in both videos and games to see how it looks, and then changing it again and Im still not sure Im completely happy with it. Not a deal breaker, but annoying. 2) The audio is meh. Im not an audiophile, so I think its okay (not to mention I use external speakers from my computer 90% of the time) but I definitely can tell the difference when I switch over to the PS4 and it uses the tv speakers only.

Great value for a 1080p flat screen. Nothing fancy with a minimum of thrills. Screen is sharp, colors are vivid and the sound is good. The 3 HDMI ports are great. The reason I gave 4 vs 5 stars is because I cannot find a code to program my universal remote. TCL does provide codes for the popular cable providers but I wanted to use with my Samsung Blue-ray / Smarthub remote. No such luck.

Lightweight, bright, with surprisingly good speakers. I wasnt thrilled by the lack of input options, but since its only running a roku thats fine. If you want to run multiple inputs (disc player, game console, streaming media machine, etc.) you WILL NEED an AV switch, because the TV only allows one of each type of connection (coax, RCA, component, HDMI). . One month into ownership and a pixel died in the upper center hextant of the screen. Not a dealbreaker for me, but I know it will offend some people so heres your early warning.
