Ordered and received same day. This is 5 stars just for that. Purchased this 40" TV to be used as computer high resolution 4K monitor. Plugged computer in HDMI port and Nvidia graphics card immediately recognized and set resolution to 3840 X 2160. Screen server also works good turning ON and OFF screen. I replaced 3 24" monitors with this TV and gain lot of desk space. I am using this computer and TV for CAD and other graphics programs and I am happy with this purchase. You cannot beat price of $250 for 40" 4K monitor. You should not watch low resolution 240 YouTube videos in full screen. It just does not look good, Just stretch your browser until pixels are not to big on low resolution videos. This is not smart TV and you do not need those functions if it is plugged into computer. The 4K movies from Netflix looks good. I highly recommend this TV if you want high resolution computer monitor. I did not try to us it as TV and I cannot write review about TV functions.

So.. people are really underselling this tv.. let me say this.. this is a superior product for an UNBEATABLE PRICE. This may be the best value on the market full stop. I have two 4k tvs I use this one for shooters because I aim better on a smaller screen (most people do they just dont realize it) the picture is incredible if you are wanting a 4k tv at a smaller size for whatever reason do not hesitate one bit to buy this product

4K, 1080P Tv, Stream 4K Netflix with a Roku or xbox 1s, fantastic picture. Regular 1080p HD looks great too. No HDR, but colors look great. Update 4.4.17 This TV continues to impress me. Very Sharp with 1080p picture. Better than my LG 1080p and just as good as my Sony 1080p tv. 4k in video games and Netflix really cool. As far as Sound goes like all TVs is not big sound. However sound is just as good as the others in this size category. The blacks are very black and the colors pop. One negative is that if you are in a far off viewing angle the picture does fade slightly. Again prob no different than others in this category. Its worth buying.

I got this TV to use expressly as an oversized monitor for my PC. I literally live on my computer, and as a self-proclaimed Power User and geek, I have horrible habits like: keeping 5 Chrome windows each with 30 tabs open at the same time, including multiple queued-up Youtube videos and articles saved for later and coding documentation, along with file explorer windows, Evernote, Spotify, Discord chat, and usually a programming IDE or two. I realized having a 4K display at 40" or larger would end up having the same DPI as my previous setup, which was dual 24" 1080p monitors, but giving me a ton more space overall and basically be equivalent to having 4 x 1080p monitors without bezels to work with. Turns out 4k TVs are much more plentiful and thus cheaper than most monitors (made specifically for PCs usage) so I searched exhaustively for one that would actually work well for general computing. This can be dangerous territory, as TVs usually differ in a few small annoying details that can make them less than perfect for using as a monitor. Well, I finally settled on this one due to being probably the cheapest possible option. Im happy to report Im impressed with it overall, and especially for the price, it performs excellently for hooking up to a computer. Its pretty basic as far as the display goes. Plenty bright (actually a bit too bright, I turned it down in settings), colors look good, and text readability is just fine. Im not a text-o-phile though, and I should bring up the important point of the chroma value. When evaluating a 4k TV for use as a monitor, most sites will tell you to look for one that supports a 4:4:4 pixel chroma. Its hard to know this for a given TV though because its usually not mentioned in the specs. I thought I saw somewhere that this model DID do 4:4:4, but upon investigation I can say it almost certainly does NOT. Looking at the picture thats the standard test for checking if a display is 4:4:4 (with the different colored lines of text on a black background), the last 2 red and blue lines do blur the text a little bit. My guess is its probably 4:2:2. However, I honestly dont think its a problem here. Text is perfectly readable for me, so in my opinion I really dont care if the chroma isnt true 4:4:4. It looks more than sufficient to my eyes for long periods of reading. I do sit about 18" away from the monitor though, so cant speak to readability any farther than that. Another thing to be wary of is the video cable you use. The TV has 4 HDMI ports (all indicated to work with 4K@60Hz, one with MHL support, and one with ARC), and thats it. Only an HDMI 2.0 cable, as well as a video card that supports it, will carry a 60 Hz signal at 4k. If you use HDMI 1.4 youll be capped at 30hz, which is unpleasant enough to border on unusable. Im using a Thinkpad T450 with an Ultra Dock, and while the Intel 5500 graphics and the laptops mini-displayport out both support 4k60 just fine, the ultra docks HDMI port is actually stuck at 1.4 spec, which means no chance of 60 hz with the HDMI port. However its Displayport outs are version 1.2 and thus handle 60hz just fine, so I had to buy a Displayport 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter, through which I then ran my HDMI cable to the TV and everything is dandy now. Finally I should mention gaming on this thing. tl;dr, its not good. Im used to playing fast-paced FPSs on a 144Hz 1ms gaming monitor, and since the plan was to have solely the Sceptre replace my whole previous setup, I was hoping the TV would be good enough for my occasional gaming, or at least sufficient to make me not miss 144hz too much. So I tested CSGO on it with my desktop rig. And well... Firstly, I tried sitting farther back than normal to take in the whole screen in an attempt to sorta make the experience feel closer to playing on a regular 1080p monitor. It still turned out feeling unavoidably different, but not unpleasantly so. It was like stretching my old 24" to be twice as big but while keeping the same pixel density, so essentially it had the neutral net effect of some enhanced peripheral vision. That was ok I guess, but the real problem is the input lag. I tried everything to remedy it - renaming the HDMI input to "PC" (I dunno, it works on Samsungs...), messing with the settings, turning all the extraneous "features" off like motion smoothing and any post-processing effect, and setting it to the "Game" color profile, which unfortunately only seems to affect colors & brightness rather than changing any potential lag-reducing parameters. Its probably not the WORST, and Im not even sure what the GTG pixel response times or anything like that are, but perhaps by a combination of the pixel response and the image processing circuitry (being designed for a TV rather than an actual monitor with real-time input), it just feels bad. Bad enough to make me keep my 144Hz monitor for the times that I do play games. Honestly you might find it satisfactory in a pinch or for slower games like The Witcher etc, but if youre planning on playing FPSs with this, you can forget about it. Overall Im extremely happy with this thing as my primary monitor. I get so carried away in all the numerous THINGS! I can fit on my screen, that its sort of a problem, and I love it. ****UPDATE**** 5/10/19: Over a year later and Im still rockin this beautiful mammoth of a screen. I can now safely say it is, by far & away, the best addition to my workspace Ive ever made, period. And thats not just in terms of the value for money - for which it is obviously stellar - but flat out, as a standalone feature on my desk. Actually its spoiled me because I dont want to work without it. The best use case Ive found so far is arranging multiple Chrome windows full of code/API documentation all over the screen, so I have a quick reference to literally any piece of information I need just by glancing up. No more clicking away from the IDE and playing musical tabs to find the tab you kept open & scrolled to a particular piece of information on the page you knew youd inevitably waste time looking for later. I just instead break the tab off to its own window and throw it up on the 4k monitor, side-by-side the rest of my documentation.

It has a decent picture and sound for the price. Im very happy with it. Considering what I paid for lesser TVs just a few years ago its truly amazing. Im fairly picky about image quality. Id rate the image quality an 8.5 out of 10 due to ever so slightly washed out looking colors. Again though, for the price I couldnt be happier. Now, about packaging. I had to order a replacement because the first one arrived broken. Also some of the packing tape was actually stuck to the screen on the second one. It was kind of scary pulling that off but it came off cleanly. I just had to be really slow and methodical. They need to improve their shipping/packaging. Otherwise, great product. Update: I paid $250 for this TV. All of my comments are within the context of that price. Since then it appears scalpers have cornered the market on this TV and jacked up the price. I really wish I could filter out "third party sellers" (AKA scalpers) and be notified when Amazon themselves get something back in stock.

I really like the look of this TV. It may be the 4k wow factor, but even 1080p video looks better on this 4K tV than it did on my 1080p TV. Plenty of inputs for all of your TV needs. The only complaint I have, and it is a very small one, is there is no ability to custom label the inputs. It has options for ps3, ps4 xbox one etc, but no custom label naming. Very small issue and not worth removing a star for.

I bought it for use as computer monitor as the 40" UHD monitors are all very expensive and over 1000$. Does a great job and you have a TV as a bonus if you connect an external aerial. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a large 4k monitor without breaking the bank.

So I havent watched a single DVD or blu ray or run it at 4K, but its pretty flexible and easy to use. My one complaint is the lack of wide-IPS viewing, meaning that when up-close for use as a monitor, you have to reach your neck to see detail in the corners - but thats par for the price-point. Importantly, it has all the features needed - including a quality build that exceeds or equals every other brand except way more expensive SONY - and I will verify that the unit has excellent fanless ventilation, and runs cool normally - but in hot weather be sure to direct a fan across or on the back to avoid issues - these are amazing devices but do need cool air!

Really great T.V. for an excellent price. I have been using Sceptre T.V.s for a few years, and have never been disappointed. Crystal clear picture, and I have never experienced any dead pixels with them.
