Samsung UN48J5000 48-Inch 1080p LED TV (2015 Model)

I decided to leave a feedback just because of the negative reviews. Ive been looking to buy a secondary tv/monitor to my computer. A friend of mine referred to me this Samsung UN32J5003AFXZA to which he uses with his computer as a monitor. With a normal common sense I have decided to do some research to make sure it meet my needs. But before making my decision to purchase or not, I wanted to deeper understand of all its specs above. *Warranty: something goes wrong with the TV while still under warranty, YOU and NOT Samsung will pay for shipping back to their factory, they will fix/replace and ship back to you at their cost. *Energy Saver: NO. Which means it cost $6 per every 200 hours of use. If this TV was energy saver it would cost $4.2 instead. (US dollars) *5watts speakers, the sound is very low, pay attention to this. The volume at max should sound like a shower speaker or lower. The sound of this TV is rated to be used in a 137 square feet room or smaller. However, there is an option to buy with Samsung HW-J250 2.2 Channel 80 Watt Audio Soundbar (2015 Model). For an extra $99.99 *NO PC INPUTS, the reason I want a TV is to use with a PC. I can still use this TV as a monitor as long as I get my self an adapter (HDMI); an extra 20-30 bucks for a good quality one. *Smart Functionality- No, Built in Wi-Fi- No: meaning this TV will not connect to your wi-fi and it does not have the smart hub option to connect with apps. *USB PORT: meaning you can connect via sharemovie cable with a usb male port to your smart cell phone or camera and display your photos or even play a netflix movie. Guess what, with the combination of your smart phone and this TV = Smart TV. This does not say under description, but its common knowledge. I dont think I need to go through all the other features, they are all straight forward. Bottom line this TV does meet my needs with conditions (I need either new video card for my computer with HDMI output or HDMI cable with output pc connector), and it meets my budget. If the TV breaks, back light stop working or any other problem it will cost me 40 bucks for shipping. Unless it breaks within 14 days free shipping. and they will ship another one back me at their cost. It took me 20 minutes to do a research, well worth my time before investing $259 + tax. I prepared wrote this review which took me more than an hour, to help consumers to find what they are looking for. And not wasting their money like some did buying this TV not knowing what they were doing.

Viewing this LED tv is incredibly easier on my eyes than a 6 year old LCD tv it replaced that was set at 100% sharpness, this is much better straight from the factory in all its settings. I already had a Samsung sound bar from the original 6 year purchase and it married the new tv like love at first sight. While I could arrange the settings of the tv speakers for "good enough" sound the sound bar and its wireless woofer gives me the depth of sound I am accustomed to hearing. There was a software update last year that I downloaded to a flash drive to upload to the tv, but the tv did not accept it as needed. I am on the mailing list with Samsung if any updates come along that the tv may need, but for now it is up to date despite being older than the release of an update for the tv software. I may need more time to get used to the size of the people on the screen, they are much bigger than on ye olde 32 inch tv, but I will. That it saves money to buy this one as a 2015 model and with the cost of electricity as an EnergyStar model surely makes the bottom line look really good.

It was everything I expected, and even a little better. I use this with Apple TV and suits all of my entertainment needs. This TV is extremely simple, easy to use, and has a great display. Didnt think once about returning it for a better model because I dont need to. I am very, very happy with this purchase. Great product for its value. Cheers.

Very pleased with this "purchase". This actually wasnt my first "choice". Amazon credited this item as a replacement to another TV that was out of stock. With that said, I was very pleased when the agent said I had the option to get a Samsung given their reputation in the HDTV market. Ive had a 32" Samsung LCD for years now and the GUI/controls are very similar. Thats not a problem because they are functional and useful as-is. The picture is beautiful. I dont think theres a need to calibrate it out of box. I hear clicking noises when I first turn it on and for the first few minutes while its on... not sure why.. maybe warming up? Sound Ive had to switch settings between playing video games, watching shows (netflix/prime video via PS3) and watching sports (coaxial antenna). That only takes a couple seconds. Also need to adjust volume between the different sources. Remote is fine. I wish the arrows were positioned higher on it, though. I am sure I will adjust to it. Only negative thing is this was shipped twice in its original packaging. The first time the screen was cracked. The 2nd time the screen was intact, but the frame had a crack in it (which Amazon discounted instead of having me return for a 3rd try (4th really since this was a replacement to one). This does not affect my rating, as I left appropriate feedback in the "packaging feedback" section.

Good basic TV. Picture is crisp and clear. Its not a smart TV, I knew that going in. I wanted a good plain Jane TV because I have an Amazon Fire Stick and a Playstation console to provide all the smart features. I like the minimalist style of the bezel and the modest Samsung logo. As with many flat screens,the audio screams for home audio help. Contrary to some reports, I found the feet sturdy and easy to install. In my opinion, if you want a very good basic unit this is a good choice for both performance and price.

I am using as a PC monitor. Fonts were blurry and driving me crazy. Until i found this on forum somewhere. 1. Make sure you connect to HDMI 2 / DVI 2. Press the "Source" button. Highlight the HDMI input. Press "Tools" button -> Edit Name -> And then simply using the scrolling (up & down keys on your remote), select "PC" or "DVI PC" for your HDMI. Working great now and it looks awesome. Very nice monitor and a great price. Also the HDMI ports stick straight out the back of the TV. If youre mounting it close to the wall with a thin wall mount get a 90 degree HDMI adapter.

Before I bought this TV, I bought a TLC Smart TV that was 720p. I returned it immediately because the picture was so gross looking with my PS4 that I didnt even want to play it anymore. I bought this one because it was 1080p and LED. The picture on this TV is beautiful. My PS4 gaming is amazing in graphics and picture quality. The colors are very vibrant as well, adding to the whole gaming experience. If youre someone who loves crystal clear picture quality, this TV is 100% for you. I dont know how this TV costs the same amount as the TLC piece of garbage I tried, but the price is such a bargain for this product. Highly recommended.
