Just over a year old and I just thew it away. Stopped responding to the remote, it would register a command, just not complete it. Samsung quality has gone way downhill. I used to look for Samsung products, now I avoid them!

Please if plan to use 1080P including a Blu-Ray player or any device dont make mistake I did buying this trash. Samsung is a horrible company that imposes such bad copy protection via HDCP it makes the TV unable to achieve 1080P. The USB has copy protection that forces to register to even watch stuff from it in 1080P... It refuses to detect a Blu-Ray player properly making it into 720, blanking the screen, refusing to play anything back... I called support wasted about 10 days of lost sleep by being so upset... They had me waste more time downloading a "firmware" update that refused to work... The USB keeps claiming its not detecting or is there, I tried every possible way even using multiple USB sticks... None of them detect the software to even update the product at all... I doubt Amazon will publish this since they are hiding the fact these HDCP copy protections only shaft legal users... I have all bought legal Blu-Rays finally got a player after years of putting it off... I just wanted to watch them in peace, yet I cant see anything at all much less 1080P. I will have to resort to going full pirate, streaming from pirate sites, burning/copying stuff from them to even watch anything... I can try hooking it up via the component video which shouldnt have the copy protection that only hurts legal users... AS long as products are made using HDCP it will be pointless to invest any money in the trash. They dont work, it causes conflicts for people who are not doing anything illegal only... It has not stopped 1 pirate, if anything its made the pirated copies or streams the only to work... I had no problem using a blu-ray player with LG or even the Walmart bought Sceptre or Spectre whatever name they are... Ive really given up at this point, I thought of killing myself I was so upset or other people... If Samsung was a decent company they would send me a TV that works... They are known for their smart TVS spying on people, yet they cant manage to play a Blu-Ray or display anything in 1080P??? I just wanted a simple TV to watch Blu-Rays/DVDs not stream or even do anything... I dont have anything going for me in life... I have a C5-C7 neck fusion, two plastic spacers in my neck w/ titanium teeth... Yet Im being forced to do all this stuff I cant manage for a TV that is setup to not work legally?? I started on 300 baud modems, Ive never been so disgusted in my life... Samsung products are the worst, they used to be a good company but that is then this is now. I recall having an issue w/ a Samsung monitors where it wouldnt give me a picture having issue detecting the proper video since its got some cheap built in plastic switch... That should have kept me away for good, my mom got a Samsung for Mothers Day or Birthday so figured it would be fine... I waited so long to finally get HDTV, Blu-Ray, was all excited only to be totally devastated. There is something wrong in the world where copy protection is only hindering the people legally using the products. Everybody laughs at me for being honest, not turning to all these pirate sites... Thinking I can legally by the Blu-rays I want to show support for the Anime or other things I enjoy... Yet a Samsung TV or any using HDCP among other idiotic stuff is only hindering anybody trying to be decent. When I smash this junk in the street Ill be replacing it with another TV that wont work because of HDCP BS... Im going to try hooking it up via the component cables which will only give me 1080i not the 1080P I paid for... This is a Scam TV that will not generate the 1080P only 1080i if it displays any picture at all. Lost over 5 hours talking to tech people from all across LG to Samsung. They dont care about the people or their product, surely not my life or those lives of any who use them... Ive seen stories of people all losing TVS from automatic updates Samsung has done, my cable boxes are Samsung giving me many issues too... Please just listen to me about this one topic... Dont Buy Anything Samsung, even a cell phone I had was Samsung Rugby which dont work well if at all... Im so devastated by this, Ive just given up, I never supporting pirates until I finally have seen they are in the right. You cant properly buy/watch anything legally without having some sorta conflict happen... They can even decide to restrict the resolution you see movies in by some choice at any moment regardless of what you do. Laws need to change to ban HDCP or any forms of copy protection as they only hurt the consumer not any pirate in the least. Even the Cable only works since its mostly broadcast in 1080i or below otherwise it wouldnt give me a picture either. I made the mistake of buying this TV from Amazon, otherwise maybe it would have somebody fix or support it. Samsung refused to do the right thing in fixing the TV or sending me one that worked... AS the TV never worked properly, I just didnt know it, many others are getting scammed just like me. I wonder if my moms TV even works since she has never tried using Roku or anything broadcast in 1080P. I didnt know about all this stuff until recently, I thought you could legally buy/use stuff in USA... Yet I see this country is worse than China where their products actually display 1080P or even 4K without this BS... I suggest giving LG a try over Samsung, my first 1080 TV in any form was a LG... It managed to work fine with the same Blu-Ray player this trash Samsung TV wont play... It wont even display the picture in 720 even though it converts the Blu-Ray to that even when empty without a disc in it... Anything I try to play it will work fine except not having any picture or sound :). Samsung TVs are over priced, they are not worth anything, basically filled with copy protection to point its unusable to anybody... Even the tech on the phone admits he had no idea what to do, that nobody has ever had such issues as me :). Imagine buying a TV thinking will be able to use it with a Blu-Ray player to see stuff in HD at 1080P... That is just totally insane, I cant even buy a HDTV that will legally display 1080P because they have faulty buggy trash HDCP.

Bought this TV for my grandfather and the setup went smoothly. Got called a week later with a volume control issue. After spending an hour on the phone with Samsung, the issue was never resolved. Instead of returning the product, I bought a sound bar and muted the internal speaker. Sadly, the TVs volume control issue would still cause the internal speaker to work while the external speaker was working, despite being turned off in the menu. I decided to run the cable boxs audio to the soundbar and skip the TV entirely, so the TV cant play any sound. Otherwise, the picture is good. I did buy another of the same model from a local retailer for my mother and its volume works fine.

This TV delivers great video and minimally acceptable audio, with one problem. The TV does not complete a valid "handshake" with a Comcast cable box using either HDMI input to the TV. Comcast has tried three separate cable boxes, demonstrated to be in working order by connecting to a different TV. None of them worked using the HDMI input on this Samsung TV. Samsung support sounded apologetic, but had no solution to the problem. I found a workaround solution by purchasing an Aoken HDMI to Component Video (YPbPr) Converter, connecting the cable box HDMI cable to its input, then connecting the component outputs of the converter to the component inputs of the Samsung TV. This succeeds in making the connection between the cable box and the TV. With the addition of this converter and an external speaker base, the ultimate result is a five-star TV viewing experience.

Great picture, however, the sound is meh. Also, if you wanted to control this television manually, not happening. There are no controls of any kind on this television. You will need to use the remote for everything on this television. Need to turn the tv on, need the remote, need to change channel, need to use the remote...etc. P.S. the legs cracked within the first month of use, if you purchased you should wall mount if possible.5/31/2017 recently found out that there is a control button attached to the sensor on the bottom of the television on the right that can turn the tv on and off and also be used to switch channels and it has volume control too.

Were having the same sound issue reported by many other users: Namely, you have to fix the sound every time you turn the TV on, because it defaults to blaringly loud, and you cant adjust the sound with the remote. I finally figured out how to fix it, but I have to do this each time I turn it on (what a pain!): Go into Menu, then scroll down to Self Diagnostics, click on that and then choose Sound Test. If you hear the test sound, the volume is now adjustable with the remote. We may save ourselves the hassle and only listen to the sound through external speakers. Now we know why this TV was so cheap.

I would like to start of by saying that this is a pretty decent tv for its price. I have no complaints when it comes to the display and how crisp the picture looks. So its perfect in that aspect whether you are gaming, or watching television. The audio however is pretty fair. Its nothing special, but it is doable. Something I can deal with at least until Im able to buy a surround sound, if youre looking for better sound that is. Something else I noticed is that there is only one button on the TV itself, which is the power button. There are no other buttons on the TV, not even volume buttons, so you might want to keep in check of your tv remote and not lose it, unless you want to purchase a universal remote. The back of the TV is kinda cheaply made as well, which I noticed when I attempted to plug cords into the hdmi ports. Makes me a bit reluctant to constantly plug in and out cords from the back since it feels so cheap back there and possibly breaking it. So just bear all that in mind if you purchase this tv that you must be a bit delicate with it. It has 2 hdmi ports btw. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase. It could have a bit more to it like more buttons on the tv, but for a perfect display tv at this price range, I cant complain. If you looking for something cheap with perfect picture, then I recommend this. If you want the super crazy high def surround sound, then this isnt it. Dont expect all that bass and stuff, but the audio is pretty fair and crisp as well. But you could always buy a surround sound set if anything. Great buy in my book. * Let me add on to this since i figured something out about the TV. So apparently when you press the power button on the tv when its on, a menu pops up for volume and channel up and down,as well as a menu option and of course to power it down. you have to press the button in the menu to navigate, and hold the button on whatever youre highlighted on for action. for example, if you want to turn the volume up from the tv, press the volume button on your tv when its on, and the menu will pop up. press it until the highlighter goes to volume up and then just hold the button there for it to increase. It seems a bit much, but it makes me much more happier for my purchase now to realize i can do that, considering i thought i had a tv that couldnt do anything but power on and off directly from the tv itself.

I got a smoking good deal on this TV. With that said, I did not rate this TV based on getting it dirt cheap. I am rating this TV fairly for what it is. A low end 1080p TV! First, its sooooo light I couldnt believe it. I could juggle three of these (if I could juggle). If you plan on moving this TV at all, this will not be a problem. Next, lets talk about the quality of the picture. I thought it was very good! I used it for my PS4 & HD Cable TV. No complaints & in fact its very good quality for the price! Its not going to compare to high end $1000+ 4k TV by any means, but its not bad at all! Style, this TV looks pretty good but I must say that placement of the legs is a little stupid. Its such a light weight tv, it doesnt need to disperse the weight so much. This would of been much better with a good stand in the middle (it would of fit better on my tiny Night stand also. Lastly, the absolute worst part of this TV is the sound. Its super quiet & even cranked to 75/100 I find myself rewinding stuff to hear what someone has said. The sound quality itself isnt the worst but nothing to write home about either.

I got this TV as a monitor for my PC for gaming. 1080p looks great at this size. The screen is able to be much brighter than my old monitor and has far less backlight bleed as well. I wish I had bought this a couple years ago as I dont know how I lived without a big monitor for so long. 2 HDMI ports covers my needs. It took me a while to find the power button, it is underneath. IT is also a single button unit so you push and hold to select different functions. If you want to adjust most settings you will need to use the included remote.

Our bedroom tv died and we were looking to replace it. My husband bought this one because it was a great price and cheaper than many of the smaller models we were looking at. I thought the tv would be way too large for our room but it actually is a nice size and we have gotten used to it. The picture is very clear. It was very easy to hook up and hook up the cable, xbox and google tv to. It is very easy to switch between devices. The cable controller was able to pair with the tv so we are able to use the cable controller to control the tv seamlessly. The tv has a built DTV tuner so you can get off air HDTV reception. There is a coaxial input and you can hook up your MP4 and many other devices. This is not a smart tv - meaning it does not automatically connect to the internet. However, you can stream netflix or hulu or amazon by connecting through other devices. We use our xbox to connect to netflix and watch movies that way. The only downside of the tv is that the sound is not that great. We dont have it set up to any type of surround sound so the only sound we get is coming from the tv speakers. It works ok but you have to turn it really loud to hear it. Other than that we are very happy with this tv. For the price and the fact that it is a name brand it is a great buy!
