This is a terrific TV. The picture is very good for 720p and the sound is surprisingly good as well for such a slim TV. Setup was as easy as it gets even though there is no detailed user manual enclosed. Ive set up many TVs through the years so maybe that is why it came easy to me. The setup procedure has not changed much through the years. My suggestion would be to go to the Samsung website, download the user manual for your model prior to setting up your TV. So far I am pleased with this purchase. Please note that the M following UN28 is the 2017 model for the 4500 series. Just wish there was a paper user manual instead go a digital one. Update: After one month I am returning this TV for an exchange. When it works its great. My problem occurs occasionally. When turning on the TV there is no picture only audio. To get the picture back I have to unplug the TV while its on, wait 15 seconds and plug it back in. After that it works fine for a while then it happens again. I got this procedure from the Samsung tech support dept. They said quote "its a glitch" and I should return it, which I will do. If it happens with the replacement Ill return it for a refund. Very surprised to have this problem after one month. Amazon is great when it comes to returns for replacements or refunds.

I have this TV in a small bedroom that I now use for working out. It has a nice picture for watching workout videos or anything really. The sound comes out of the back so it can sometimes be a little hard to hear without cranking it up but the sound quality is good. Set up was pretty easy but tighten it all down well. The base has to be tightened significantly to make it stable, especially if there is heavy movement in the room, e.g., bouncing to exercise videos. Similarly, the power cable popped out at first but now that I really jammed it in there it has stayed put. I considered taping it but that has not been necessary now. I dont have a cable connection in that room so I only use it with Netflix and Amazon Prime but that works out fine. Its working well and Ive been happy with my choice.

UPDATE - Really tired of having to set up/mount to wall bracket/have a problem/un-mount/return!!!! My second one is already having issues. Turned it on and it was froze on an image that was not the channel it was on but still had the sound. And then it went black screen with sound. Lost the sound but still had graphics. Turning it on and off fixed it (for now). OG post - I like it. Even though its only 720p thats good enough for my bedroom. So I bought another one for the kitchen. Easy set up, sound is good. But then 1 month after use the second one went black screen - its getting power but no picture or sound, just the channel graphic. It was OK after re plugging it in. Next day it did it again. Today it is getting sent back; Ill try again and let you know

Get the old 2014 model says this reviewer. UN24H4500AFXZA is the 2014 model. UN24M4500AFXZA is the 2017 model. One letter different, thanks for that Samsung. The easiest way to tell the difference is by the number of legs. One big leg in the middle is the 2014 model. Two legs, one at each end, is the 2017 model. There is a lot of confusion about the two. For example, the Best Buy employee I spoke with tried to convince me they were the same TV. Incorrect. You can search both on the Samsung website. The display itself should be very similar, although I think the new model claims better color. The new model loses a USB port, loses optical audio output and 3.5mm stereo audio output, gets 5w speakers instead of 3w, gains wifi direct, gains ARC technology over HDMI. The new features are nice but personally I think that the port-less TVs that are so prolific these days are silly. I would say for new buyers, go for the 2014 model and plug in some stereo PC speakers for better sound. Wifi direct is only for using a mobile device with it if I understand correctly. ARC technology is just for convenience with reducing the number of remotes in some cases and with making powering on/off devices require fewer steps.

The crisp, clear picture and amazing colors made this "smaller" TV the family favorite. We take turns in getting to watch this comfortably sIzed tv with all its clarity. The images are betted than our larger flat screens. CLEARLY, IT WAS AN AWESOME PURCHASE!

This TV constantly drops its WiFi connection, even though the WiFi routers signal is strong and only 25 feet away. Re-connecting to WiFi is non-intuitive and sometimes wont connect at all unless you unplug it and plug it back back in. I have a Roku device on the same WiFi network that is a little further away and the WiFi signal never gets dropped on it. Also, the TV sometimes "locks up" and has to be unplugged and plugged back in.

I just bought 2 new Samsung smart TVs, 28" and 32". Both have beautiful pictures, but clearly, Samsung has made every effort to save every tenth of a penny possible. The booklets for both TVs are identical with almost NO useful information. Theres a photo of the back panel that you cant really read, and which doesnt actually identify the ports. To get info about the TV you have to use the online manual, but of course you cant print from that or hold onto it. Also, the only audio channel out is Optical, which means I cannot plug in my headphones without buying a special cable and also a converter to RCA plugs. I dont know if another brand would have been any different; I guess I should have studied the specs more carefully. I just hope that neither TV bursts into flames like a Samsung cell phone.
