This is just not a television for the "elderly." At 71, I am classified as elderly. It assembled routinely, and powered right up. It took two long customer service calls(1 hour + each) to get it to work as I hoped. I have no hardwired program delivery. The "Wi-Fi" was, therefore critical since all programming I can get is streamed over my Wi-Fi. Perhaps the most frustrating problem for me was that identifying program choices or even providers, like hulu and even Prime was hit or miss and required using a pointer to select a "key" on the QWERTY keyboard. Thus, each typing stroke required two stages of selection. And, the source had to be selected every time the TV was turned on and a program is sought. What finally broke me with this TV was that it self-deleted Amazon Prime as a selectable source !!!! EDIT- I want to praise the two customer service reps that gave me their two hours of help. They were excellent and friendly and I never sensed frustration on their end. Alas, they could not change the product characteristics, but my interaction with them was very pleasant and we even shared some moments of laughter together. The CS could not have been better. Because of my history with Amazon and those two CS reps, I WILL find my replacement TV here !! The positives are the easy assembly and a very high quality picture. If it had the voice selection program choice I would have been very happy with it. By the way, my wireless service is Century Link at 60/5 MBps and this TV reliably produced that quality picture at that moderate speed. Buffering events were very rare. What bothers me the most now, is a complete lack of knowledge on selecting the replacement that stays in my affordable price range.. Amazon was great on return and refund !!

I cant find speakers to hook up to this, being as I got a smart TV you would think you could hook up to a wireless soundbar, but no such luck, no speaker port found on the back of the TV, I am so frustrated at this point I am going to return the TV, because I cant hear it turned completely up I cant hear anything with a AC or fan running ;(. so sad.

UPDATE - Really tired of having to set up/mount to wall bracket/have a problem/un-mount/return!!!! My second one is already having issues. Turned it on and it was froze on an image that was not the channel it was on but still had the sound. And then it went black screen with sound. Lost the sound but still had graphics. Turning it on and off fixed it (for now). OG post - I like it. Even though its only 720p thats good enough for my bedroom. So I bought another one for the kitchen. Easy set up, sound is good. But then 1 month after use the second one went black screen - its getting power but no picture or sound, just the channel graphic. It was OK after re plugging it in. Next day it did it again. Today it is getting sent back; Ill try again and let you know

Get the old 2014 model says this reviewer. UN24H4500AFXZA is the 2014 model. UN24M4500AFXZA is the 2017 model. One letter different, thanks for that Samsung. The easiest way to tell the difference is by the number of legs. One big leg in the middle is the 2014 model. Two legs, one at each end, is the 2017 model. There is a lot of confusion about the two. For example, the Best Buy employee I spoke with tried to convince me they were the same TV. Incorrect. You can search both on the Samsung website. The display itself should be very similar, although I think the new model claims better color. The new model loses a USB port, loses optical audio output and 3.5mm stereo audio output, gets 5w speakers instead of 3w, gains wifi direct, gains ARC technology over HDMI. The new features are nice but personally I think that the port-less TVs that are so prolific these days are silly. I would say for new buyers, go for the 2014 model and plug in some stereo PC speakers for better sound. Wifi direct is only for using a mobile device with it if I understand correctly. ARC technology is just for convenience with reducing the number of remotes in some cases and with making powering on/off devices require fewer steps.
