Samsung Electronics UN32J4000C 32-Inch 720p LED TV (2015 Model)

This TV worked great for about 6 months. One day the sound just quit & I havent been able to get the issue resolved, despite it being under warranty with Samsung. I have been on the phone with Samsung a dozen times, online chatted through the same exact troubleshooting over & over. The problem seems to be a necessary software update. Since it is not a Smart TV, the only way to run an update is via a USB thumb drive. First I was told the file couldnt be downloaded on a Mac. Then I was told it could. Once I downloaded it, I was told that the USB drive had to be completely empty. So I tried again. Everything from Samsung indicates that the file will be in an EXE format. No amount of downloading & unzipping (on brand new USB drives, on both a Mac & a PC) ever got a file in an EXE format. It was always a BIN file. Finally, Samsung mailed me a USB drive with the needed file. The TV wouldnt read the file. I was told the next step was to have a technician come out. But first I am asked to go through hours worth of additional & repetitive troubleshooting. The whole process has taken more than 2 months. If you do buy this TV, please buy the Amazon warranty, as the Samsung warranty seems to be pretty worthless.

Great tv for six months then out goes the sound. Called samsung for help and the best they could do was send me on a 240 mile round trip to a samsung approved service center that is only open in the day time so I would have to take half a day off work twice to get it fixed. So unless you live close to a service center think twice about this tv.

I am not sure where the short coming starts, the first New 32 inch Samsung TV when set up only half of the screen worked alright things happen I reordered another one the second one after unboxing the TV another disappointment this time the cord to the TV is missing now I have lost all confidence in the shipper and Samsung Electronics though ordering new items it seems that I am getting refurbished TVs NOT HAPPY.

This TV pretty much sucks. Its already required me to reboot it multiple times which, granted, only requires turning it off and back on, but the need to do so indicates there is some crappy code in the TVs software. The MAIN PROBLEM though is it sounds utterly horrible, and the only audio output is an obscure TOSLink optical out. And it turns out buying a converter is a real pain (there are a lot of options and a lot of compatibility issues meaning having to spend hours researching just to avoid having to return one). I can understand flat screen TVs having crappy sound, but the decision of Samsung to go with nothing but these optical outs on their TVs with RCA jacks is downright idiotic. UPDATE: So I bought a bluetooth converter so the TOSLink optical out signal could be routed to one of my Bluetooth speakers. It turns out though that when this TVs optical output is activated, it bypasses the tvs own internal volume control. And since most bluetooth speakers have no remote, that mean, at least in my case, no remove voilume control. I wont even mention that crappiness of trying to use bluetooth for speakers. This TV is made to run with a stereo receiver with its own speakers and remote or a soundbar. Which for a second tv to put in a bedroom, is highly impractical.
