This review is for the LG-28LJ430B-PU model. This is a decent TV if you dont expect a lot of bells and whistles. Its relatively inexpensive. It has a very crisp 720p picture, with good contrast, brightness and color, and would do well in a bedroom or in a college dorm room. There are two HDMI input ports, which I connect to a Dish TV set-top-box and a Roku streaming device. Switching between the two HDMI ports is quick and easy using the remote. Control settings for the TV are simple to configure and easy to locate and adjust with the included remote. Unfortunately, it has some limitations that cost it at least one star... 1) The screen allows a lot of glare, so if its facing a bright outside window you can expect daytime viewing to be difficult, unless you angle it slightly to avoid reflections. On the other hand, the viewing angle is quite wide, so facing it slightly off-center has little effect on the picture quality. 2) It has two built-in speakers that point straight down, so the sound coming from the set is muffled and difficult to hear and turning up the volume doesnt help. I added two plastic sound re-directors that easily attach with velcro to the rear of the set to re-direct the sound waves forward. They helped quite a bit but still, why was this necessary? Couldnt LG have molded in simple plastic re-directors into the sets plastic frame? 3) There is NO audio-out port, so theres no way to connect this set to an external audio device (which would eliminate my #2 complaint). No one would mistake the sound coming from the sets speakers for anything but basic TV audio. Instead, I use the audio-out RCA connectors on my Dish TV set-top-box to drive a pair of small Logitech speakers ("Logitech Multimedia Speakers Z200"). This gives a much more robust sound, but at the expense of losing the ability to control the volume remotely. So, although I can I can get good sound, its inconvenient to achieve. I think LG was penny-wise and pound-foolish for not providing an audio output port of some kind and it is my main complaint. Still, the price is low, the picture quality is very good, and the sound, once re-directed, is decent for a set at this price point. If it had an audio-out port I would have given it 5 stars.

Nice styling, great picture only downfall is that there arent any output jacks or earphone to hook up a sound bar with! I corrected the problem by going out of the cable box directly to the sound bar! No fault of the sound bar!

I wanted a "dumb" TV for my elderly aunt who is in a personal care home. She just wants to see her cable TV channel when she turns it on with no other options, just like on her old analog TV. I want something that wont confuse her and have to cause me to travel 45 minutes to "fix" it. This one looks like it does that

Dont like the legs. The center stand is a lot more universal.

Easy menu setup and a great value for the purpose I needed. I was surprised with the sound quality - not Hi-Fi by any means but not tin-can either.

Really pleased with this little LG TV so far. Bought it for the guest bedroom and it was a fairly easy setup. Nice picture, sound and good value for the price. My first LG...so far very pleased.

The LG TV provides an excellent picture! It was easy to set up and actually pulled in more stations than the RCA it replaced.
