AXESS TV1705-24 24-Inch LED Full 1080p HDTV, Features 1xHDMI/Headphone, RGB and Component Inputs with Full Function Remote

I took a gamble on this small TV given the absence of many reviews because the specs looked good and the TV had lots of connection options. The build quality was very good but I was surprised at how light weight this TV is. Given its lightness it could lend itself to under counter mounting. Set up of the OTA local stations was straight forward and was quicker than an older popular brand TV I own and it even found more stations. Once tuned I was impressed with the bright and vivid colors of the display. Tuning through a handful of the main channels and sub-channels, the picture remained crisp and tuning was fast. I next connected the TV to a media player via the HDMI input. Again I was impressed by the vivid display. Sound from the speakers had sufficient volume and was of better quality than what I expected from a small TV. Information on how the USB input could be used was sparse so I loaded a thumb drive with an album of mp3 files and a folder of photos in jpg format. To try that out (BTW all the photos had been previously down sized for display on a Digital picture frame). The menu to display the photos was not very polished but it was adequate. Once I navigated through the menu the photos played in sequence with varying transition effects. While the photos were still being displayed I then navigated to the music album and was surprised that I now had sound accompanying my slide show. So a nice extra that may lend itself for using the TV in many use cases. Outside of the clunky menu for playing media via a thumb drive the only other issue I came across was making connections to the inputs. So using an ultra slim HDMI cable is highly recommended for the HDMI connector and using an F Type Push On Quick Connect Adapter for the TV coax input made that much easier to connect. (Refer to the accompanying photos) Despite these minor annoyances I am very happy with this purchase and give it 5 Stars. Update on 2019-05-23. This TV is still working fine but I wish the design made it possible to use with a Universal Remote. The supplied remote is 8.5" long, about an inch longer than the remotes used with comparable TVs. For this reason Im and taking away a Star from the other wise fine portable TV

This TV has a really good picture. However, it is not as large as it says. It is 1 inch smaller on height and width. The sound is terrible. I put extra speakers on it. It is very light weight and that is good.

Hard to find a small TV like this with decent speakers. This TV has the best speakers of any I reviewed. Would have been five stars if the SINGLE button on the TV also turned the TV off as well as on. The button only turns the TV on and, after its on, the button changes the Input. Need to turn it off with the remote control. Other than that, a great buy!
