It was great and I loved it, until it fell 3 feet to the CARPET, and broke apart. ViewSonic has no repair service and its now trash

First projector I received only worked once and after that would not hold a charge and I had to return for a replacement model. 2nd projector was unable to find the input devices ie. Amazon fire stick unless I either unplugged and re plugged the stick back in to force the projector to recognize a new item or I would have to go to settings and choose the hdmi port and hope to not have to repeat step one. Good concept bad execution. This was my 5th viewsonic projector and my first poor experience. Maybe I just got two underperforming units in a row and the next 100 or so they sent out are working perfectly. 2 stars for 2 tries.

Install Flash Player I’ve always wanted a projector for movie nights but couldn’t live with going through the hassle of installing and mounting. My initial thoughts on the packaging were mind blown, very sleek and stylish. Almost like a beats pill. Box came with a carrying pouch, cables, and remote. Out of the box, the projector was easy to use, a simple plug and play of your HDMI and you’re set. Love the versatile stand how the projector auto adjusts itself to the wall, HUGE PLUS. Picture quality is great for movies at night and will be bringing this around during camping or late night bbq’s outdoor now that summer is rolling in!

I recently returned this product and picked up something else instead. Here are some thoughts: -This projector looks great. It has an elegant design that gives this projector a look that echoes Dieter Rams designed Braun products. -Movies look really great even though it’s native resolution is only 480p. -Its shortcomingings are apparent when text comes into play. Text is a blurry mess and sometimes unreadable depending on the screen size you are projecting. -The speaker sounds incredible. Here are my main issues: -The ports are on the opposite side of the arm/stand that holds the projector up. Once you begin plugging stuff in (hdmi cable, power supply, etc) to those ports, it becomes a balance issue. Because the weight of the projector is balancing on this lightweight aluminum arm/stand the gravity or tension of the cords that are plugged in end up knocking the projector over quite easily. And because there’s no OS where native apps such as Netflix or YouTube installed, something needs to be plugged in at all times to use this thing. -While the swivel arm/stand gives this impression that there’s an infinite amount of ways you can position this thing, the weight of the actual projector limits this notion. Sure, it can project a picture on the wall or even ceiling straight up with very little issue. But let’s say you want to position the projector at a one o’clock position or two o’clock position. You know, almost straight up at the ceiling but slightly tilted forward or back. The projector will simply fall forward or backward simply bc it’s too heavy for the stand to support it in that manner. Thus the projector is really limited to being positioned at 12 o’clock or 3 o’clock with only a few degrees of leeway. -And while the stand certainly held the projector in those specific positions I just mentioned, I was concerned with how well the mechanism that swivels the stand would hold up over time. The stand doesn’t lock; you simply position the projector and it holds it in that position. Over time and frequent use, I was afraid that it would loosen up and the stand would become useless and flop around. -The nail in the coffin was the auto lamp off/sleep feature when something covers the lens. While it worked as advertised, there was an instance where the lens was blocked and the lamp shut off as it was supposed to. It’s then supposed to turn back on if the lens is no longer blocked. However, when the lens was quickly unblocked, the lamp never turned back on. I had to reboot the projector to get it to work again. I think my expectations for using this thing might have been unrealistic. I was using it for movies and video games around the house. If you were simply to use this projector where it would basically sit on desks and table tops and limited to a single connection like a laptop for presentations in work or school, then this might be a very useful projector.

I truly loved this projector. Suddenly, it stopped working. I did not drop it, bump it, or even treat it roughly at all. One day while watching a movie, I walked in front of the projector. The safety feature, that turned off the bulb to protect my eyes, engaged. It never disengaged. The bulb will not turn back on. It is stuck with the bulb off. I spent days attempting to talk through the problem with the viewsonic support staff. Their only solution was to charge it and try again. Obviously, that didn’t work. Now I am stuck with a $300 paperweight.

I really want to like this projector... but there are a couple of deficiencies for my intended use case of camping. I got it used from Amazon Warehouse, otherwise I would have probably returned it already. - It is only a 480p projector. It is pretty clear, but is definitely not going to be confused with an HD projector. Still, not bad for - MicroSD Capped at 32GB - I only had larger sizes laying around, because this isnt 2010. - Only charging via a truly MASSIVE power adapter. The USB-C is only for data or charging another device. - The fast-forward feature is abysmal. It also does not keep track of your location in the movie. - The projector itself is a bit larger than I would like for this function. The remote, ergonomics, stand, and sound are good.

I needed something small and easy to transport when doing onsite training. This works perfectly. I purchased a mini tripod just in case a table or chair was not available. Works perfectly. I especially like that I do not need my computer or power cords. I would give this 10 stars!

Perfect little short throw projector. Not too bulky to drag outside. Love the easy on/easy off power and built in stand. Good speakers built in too so no need to mess with exterior ones. I typically connect a Fire TV Stick outdoors and when I’m done, three minutes to pick and up and bring indoors -EASY. The stand doesn’t sit completely level but it’s not bothersome to me once it’s on the big screen and can probably be corrected with not too much effort.

I was looking for a portable projector for Friday movie night for quite some time and to be truthful had tried quite a few before I bought Viewsonic M1. The product is packaged superbly with built-in Stand, Harman Kardon Speakers(two 3 Watt), concealed ports, 3D capability, built-in 4000mAH battery(good enough for one movie), USB C connectivity. The picture has good color and brightness, you will like it more in a dark environment. Harman Kardon speaks are loud and provide you a satisfying experience without the need of external speakers. I have watched a full movie(Avengers: Infinity War) with full brightness and decent volume, after the movie it still had some charge. It has few negatives remote totally useless you need to directly point at the front sensor, super sensitive focus.

The picture quality of this projector at this price point is excellent. Im using it on my in closed front porch thats about 25 squared feet, on a 100 inch screen, lights on, good picture, lights off, easily 720p resolution. About the remote, if you tape a small piece of clear plastic and protrude it a inch above the sensor the remote will work 10 feet from it in any direction. Putting the sensor in a better position would have made it a 5 star projector but I love it anyway.
